We had never been here before and needed to get some quick food. They only deliver if you place an order 24 hours in advance and if it’s over a certain amount(maybe $ 100 but not for sure). With that being said, we placed the order for pick up. We chose the large Greek salad, large cranberry apple type salad, large Holy Shiitake pie, large Maui Wowie, and the large House Special. We were wowed by the Holy Shiitake and it was definitely a favorite! :) The other 2 pizzas were excellent as well and were enjoyed by all! The service was fantastic and the staff made sure that we had all that we needed before we walked out the door. We will be back for more! :)

My girlfriend and I ate here regularly every couple of weeks or so for a long time. It is now on our ‘no go’ list. The food used to be good here and I don’t know if it’s just the people they have running the kitchen or what, but of the last 5 times we were in, 4 of them we had problems with our food. On the last visit, we ordered a couple of veggie burgers that arrived very dry and the cheese was literally burned onto the pattie(to the point of being dark brown with a plastic consistency). The potatoes were overcooked on the outside and almost raw in the middle. We were so hungry we ate them anyway. We’ve had to send food back a number of times in the past for being under– or overcooked or because we ordered an appetizer and it didn’t come out until long after we’d finished the meal(when we were ready for the check). The service has been really poor as well. On this last visit, we asked the bartender for some ketchup(needing lubricant for the burgers) and he gave us an empty bottle, acknowledged it was empty and then said let me get you another… and he never came back. I finally had to get up and hunt down someone to bring us ketchup. And this wasn’t the first time I’d had to do this. The bar area has booths and tables and we like to sit over there because it’s usually a little quieter. Perhaps the poor service was because we were sitting the bar area? I don’t know. The last few times the standard operating procedure seems to be that the bartender takes our order, someone else comes by and throws food in front of us and takes off without asking or saying anything and then we sit there needing things like ketchup, water, another drink, etc. To be fair, on previous visits, we did complain about the food and the manager would apologize and comp the items. On this last visit, we didn’t even bother to say anything. We’ve just decided to eat elsewhere from now on.

This was yet another long overdue Arlington bucket-list item and sadly a disappointment. My one star is for the awesome ambience. We followed other Unilocalers tips and sat near the psychedelic, neon blue bar. But the other star deductions were for the food, pricing, and service. I was drawn to the gluten-free options and ordered the White Pie. I was ecstatic that it at first seemed to be only $ 10…boy was I wrong! GF apparently tacks on an extra 6 bucks and I did NOT see that written on the menu! Deceptive advertising? The pie itself did not taste like $ 21. The crust was hard and burned and the raw tomato slices didn’t do anything for the taste or texture. A couple of ribbons of fresh sage would’ve brought out the provolone and mozz wonderfully… and perhaps would’ve justified a slightly higher tag but NOT $ 21 still. My friend ordered the Magic Mushroom soup and claimed that there was«nothing magical» about it. She also ordered the Holy Shitake pie and my other friend the Philosopher with chicken. The Holy Shitake pie was flavorful but slightly salty. The add-on chicken on the Philosopher was sparse and dry; the parm coated crust was good though! The worst part about the night was that it took us ANHOUR to get served. It took thirty minutes for our server to finally, unsincerely say that we «fell behind a large party.» He did not come to check on us even once in the interim. I understand having worked in a restaurant that this happens, but we were not informed for 30 minutes and not offered an apology. It wasn’t for another 30 minutes that the manager finally came and apologized. Sadly, this was too little too late. At least our food was warm, but overall I was very disappointed with my experience.

Came here and got sat immediately. That was the only good thing that happened. We sat down at our table, waited for a server for 15 minutes and watched several servers standing around talking. They flat out ignored us. We finally just got up and left since they obviously didn’t want our business.

Our waitress was awful, she took one drink order wandered away, 10 minutes showed up to take our food order, the rest of us had to ask for drinks. We requested ricotta on top of pizza, she said it’s mixed in. We didn’t see it or taste it. Had to ask two servers for a plate there wasn’t one for each of us. Then the manager walked away from our table with our cellphone to figure out the coupon code. Never again!

Horrible horrible service tonight! Food is great but not worth the horrible wait staff.

One of the few places where you can get gluten free pizza and dairy free cheese. It’s a big deal if you have allergies. I got the philosophers or today and it barely had any meat. Most times the orders don’t come out right the first time but they do make it right. It’s a little pricey for pizza but as I said if you have allergies this is the spot.

Horrible parking in this part of town. There was a concert next door, so we spent over 20 minutes looking for a place to park. We wanted to try some place different, so instead of giving up, we went in. The hostess told us the wait would be 15 minutes, and then when we were fine with that, she told us pizza would take 40 minutes after ordering. It felt like her goal was to talk us out of staying. At this point, we saw a half dozen empty tables in the bar area, but the same hostess told us those were not open seating. Once we were seated(a five minute wait), we noticed they were understaffed and swamped with huge groups. Nonetheless, we ordered two appetizers — the muffuletta cheese bread(SUPERYUMMY!) and the meatballs. The meatballs might have been more appetizing if we’d had plates & silverware when we received them. Instead, we waited & asked for utensils. By that time, the meatballs were cold. The flavor was fine. As we later noticed, the hostesses were providing the silverware. Aha! We ordered a small Maui Wowee pizza and a Mushroom Club Hoagie. They were both scrumptious. They also came out quickly, and they were hot. Everything had a great flavor and came as advertised. I had heard a lot about the retro 70s décor in the place, and I have to say that it did not live up to expectations. It was more«industrial» with a little bit of «lava lamp» tossed in here or there. There is way too much chrome & steel for the 70s feel… but that is wholly aesthetic. The menu is fun and creative, and we will be back. Be warned about the parking, though. It is a definite challenge with a well-known fried chicken place next door along with the concert hall.

Tonight service: Awesome greet at the door by a gentlemen and a young girl. Super nice and letting my boyfriend and I switch around places to sit(sometimes it can be a hassle so sorry!) lol. Bartender: Cory(and another bartender don’t know his name) They do a lot at the bar. Being in the service industry for years it takes a lot to handle tables and people at the bar. What I liked the most is the attitude. Attitude is big for me. Kept smiling and cracking jokes for my boyfriend and I. It was great. First time there, and I can’t wait to come back. Lovely bar, can’t wait to come back and have a drink after my pregnancy. Great food!(That cheese pizza tho…) Thank you for giving us a great memory!

Two friends and I were in the mood for pizza and came here one early Saturday afternoon. Décor is fun and family friendly. The lava lamp chandelier certainly caught my eye and brought me back to my 80s. I can only imagine the atmosphere during a busier time. It must be fun. We were told the pizza would take 15 minutes so to hold us until then, we started off with an order of the oven roasted wings. Because we ordered 10, we were able to get two flavors: half hot and half sweet Thai chili. I liked them both but preferred the hot. The hot was not as spicy as I would have liked but still tasty. Because these are twice baked, you don’t feel as guilty eating them. We ordered the Philosopher’s Pie which was delicious! The cheese was gooey and the vegetables were fresh. I also love the crispy crust. However, there was minimal steak on the salad. As a matter of fact, I don’t think I had any on the 2 slices I had. Service was quick and friendly. Our waitress checked on us at opportune times but gave us enough time and space to thoroughly enjoy our food. I appreciated management checking in on us as well. I would definitely come back but would opt for a different pizza.

Delicious! I have been to another Mellow Mushroom location in the past but it was my first time checking this one out! I came with a group from work for lunch and we had a great time. The music is awesome, but the décor is even cooler! I decided to play it pretty safe and get a House Calzone. Delicious! The mozzarella matched perfectly with the fresh tomatoes, spinach, and mushrooms! The marinara was a good temperature and had some parmesan sprinkled on top. While a pretty big portion, I finished it off! As we left, our server handed us «mystery envelopes«that contain some sort of surprise that is redeemable in a few months if unopened. What a cool marketing idea!

This is one of my go-to places especially when I’ve got a couple of sports events I want to watch at the same time. I mostly dine in the bar area because; 1) It is so cool and 2) It is so much more than a pizza joint. In fact, they serve my favorite hot wings! The wings are meaty, not fried and you could put the hot sauce on a car bumper and I’d eat it. The pizzas are really good and if you are so inclined(as I am) for a crust cooked to well done just ask and they’ll do it. They have a very complete menu with lots of sandwiches, some AMAZING mushroom soup and awesome apps. There is a complete bar and LOTS of types of beer on tap and in bottles. Others have mentioned there are nights it can be very crowded. It is true but there is a caveat. But as an Arlington resident, I can tell you that happens almost exclusively when there are multiple events at AT&T, Globe Life and /or the theater right next door. Simple rule of thumb is if there is a big show or sold out game just go to The Mellow Mushroom right after gates open or before show lets out… but isn’t that true for so many places in Arlington?

I’ve been to several different Mellow Mushrooms and I’m definitely a fan. I’ve been to the one in Arlington a few times now. The area is fun, right by Babe’s and Grease Monkey, so lots of business to choose from. We have always sat at the bar at the Arlington location because the experience is just fun. The bartenders are nice, and you can watch sports and get a pizza to share. This location is very crowded in the evenings and we’ve had the bar fill up with families w/kids because they didn’t want to wait for a table big enough for all. I find that to be pretty rude because bar seating is for small groups, and it’s inconsiderate to take up the whole area yourself. But that’s not exactly the restaurant’s fault. The drink menu is also really fun and I love the different choices. I will say that the menu(drink and food) is pretty pricey for a pizza joint. We don’t go that often for that reason. If we want those prices, we would typically go somewhere nicer. Overall, good stuff though. I’m glad there’s one nearby.

Omg! Why haven’t I been to this place earlier!!! It is a heaven for pizza lovers like me. Love love love love both the ‘kosmic karma’ pizza and stuffed portobello. Best of all, they have gluten free and vegan options! My pizza crust was gluten-free and I couldnt tell the difference. I am going there again tomorrow. Will update with new items.

I’ve been here a handful of times and I’m surprised that I haven’t reviewed this place yet! So let’s get to it: Good food that’s slightly pricey, but your mouth will be happy. Fresh, made-to-order pizza in a great variety of types. The Kosmic Pizza is killer and the Mighty Meaty pizza is intoxicating. Shout out to the baked chicken wings! The«hot» wings are slightly above mild at best, but you can’t beat baked wings that are plump! Also, honorable mention goes out to the Magic Mushroom soup – I absolutely HATE mushrooms. But this soup here? This is the ONLY way mushrooms should be prepared. With wine and in a bowl with cheese. YUMMERS. I would be remiss to point out that their bar area is fabulous. Décor wise, it’s a top notch bar. The blue light emitting from the bar makes for fabulous selfies. And when the weather is great, their patio is perfect for relaxing and people watching. Great spot in Arlingon!

Would have been 3 stars, but –1 star for negatives. Came here for and picked up a to-go order before the Superbowl. Pizza: Could have been better. Ordered a medium pizza split in half with different toppings. Mighty Meat — included pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, and applewood smoked bacon. It was okay, just like any other meat lover pizza. Philosopher’s Pie — included portobello mushrooms, artichoke hearts, olives(substituted for grilled onions), and grilled steak. The issue with this side was there was hardly any meat. Just because one side of the pizza had a lot of meat, doesn’t make it okay for them to skimp out on putting meat on this side. There were barley any thin slices of beef underneath the cheese. This side also suffered from not having an even distribution of toppings. I do have to say that the crust is delicious, has Parmesan sprinkled on top. Hot Wings — Not hot at all, their hot wings are mild. What made it worse was when we got home we found they left out the celery and ranch dressing that’s supposed to be included.

Décor: 4⁄5 –Psychedelic Service: 4⁄5 –Friendly and quick despite it being busy on a Saturday night Food: 4⁄5 –We ordered practically everything from the Munchies menu except for the salad. Nothing stood out as amazing except for the Spinach Aritchoke Dip. –I got a half and half medium pizza: House Special and Red Skin Potato. The red skin potato had the most flavor yet it was also oily and heavy. –Overall you get tasty, generous food at a friendly budget. I would come back again.

These wangz are AMAZING. Best chicken wings I’ve had in my life and trust me, I’ve had my share as a Southern-raised gal. My, those chicken wings were heavenly and crisp on the outside and oh so tender and juicy on the inside. Wait. Are we talking about wings, the appetizer, at a specialty pizza place? Why yes, and I still have such a strong love for this appetizer that it stood out to me for months. Seriously, I haven’t been here since August 2014. Anyway, after the beautiful wings, I had the Mediterranean pizza(forgot the name) and it was scrumptious. I love Greek-inspired pizza and this one hit the spot. A bit pricy but I think that it’s worth it if you’re really hungry. But all in all, definitely get the classic wings. They’ll do no harm, that’s for sure. :)
