We have been in Arlington, WA since 2003. We were hospital-​employed until 2005 when Advanced Orthopaedic Institute (the Office of Jeff Cartwright, MD) was born!

Business Owner

I have been a surgeon since 1996. I spent 20 years in the US Army and initially served as a flight surgeon in the First Iraq Gulf War.

I believe that the real practice of medicine does not begin with costly medical tests and procedures, but instead begins with the development of a honest and trust based physician– patient relationship which is founded in the ability to listen and empathize with the patient’s plight.

Once that relationship is established, an individualized patient treatment plan can be initiated. Patient involvement and ownership of the treatment plan is critical, and has a significant impact on clinical and surgical outcomes.

In today’s ever changing and complex medical industry, I believe my role as a specialist is to not only listen and offer clinical and surgical recommendations based on exam, but to also be a patient advocate in obtaining needed care!
