Update: Had the Menudo and the Pozole, both were really good. Couldn’t finish all the tripe in the menudo but the broth was so good. Update 2: Last weekend, I had sopes. They may be my favorite thing on the menu…

This place will never get my business. We ordered delivery service through Seamless and the restaurant must have taken too long to answer Seamless, so Seamless sent them something saying it was canceled due to be being unconfirmed. The restaurant THENCALLEDME and said it was confirmed and please give them an hour. I said no problem, things happen. After an hour and a half we called to check where the food was and the same guy who called me to tell me that it wasn’t canceled, said it was canceled! I put the order in at 8:15 and now it is 10 pm, we have no food and most places around us are closed. I wish I could give zero stars.

Reading everyone’s reviews and looking at the posted pictures I feel like I’m going insane. First off, where’s the Mexican food?! The menu is all italian. I was so hungry I just ordered a pizza and wings. This was for delivery through eat24. Right away, time is extended. That’s fine, it typical at this time. The extended time passes and I call to ask for an update. The man says it’s already on its way. 30 mins later, the food is still not here. I call again and no one picks up. I tried three more times with the same outcome. Finally food arrives, over 2 hours later. Unsurprisingly food is cold. I also reached out to eat24, and a 45 mins later they have never replied. 0 out of 5 stars.

Not really impressed unfortunately. Had the carnitas tacos and the Carne asada burrito. The tortillas were tasteless, generic, store bought disappointments. The carnitas itself was over-seasoned to the point of being salty. There’s only been one place in this area that has California quality Mexican food and it’s not this place.

This place is no doubt the real deal and nearly the best – if not the best – Mexican I’ve had in the area. That said, I’ll say up front that I was a little underwhelmed by the Al Pastor tacos. I got one, because many other reviewers raved about them. I found the corn tortilla and the overall taste somewhat mediocre. But if you get one, you get to pick your toppings. Be careful with the habanero salsa. It’ll burn your face off. I also got the chicken burrito, refried beams and rice. The burrito is out of this world. Best I’ve ever had. Great flavor. Even the refried beans are exceptional, with an unparalleled meaty taste. The rice is rice, but it added texture to the meal. Even better, they deliver(although I’m outside their 3 mi. limitation, which is my own tragic personal problem). Great place!

Stopped there for lunch today and ordered 3 tacos, Pork, Carne asada and Lengua. The Lengua was the best of the three but there were over 10 other choices. Look forward to going back and trying the other meats. Overall pretty good for the price and seemed authentic. Afterwards stopped by the bakery next door and was impressed by the low prices of the pastries, plus buy 2 pastries get a free coffee. Recommended.

I’ll give it 3.5 Tacos are good. I’ll still take the court house truck over these, but they have lots of options here so I’ll be back. Pastor was the best Asada was pretty good Chorizo was surprisingly bad. Dry(how?) and no spice or flavor really. Tacos are standard two corn tortillas, you have your option of toppings(salsa, lettuce, cilantro, onions, pineapple, radish), the green salsa is good I don’t like the red. 2.50 each

Maybe I’m drunk on tacos, but if y’all ain’t able to order in Spanish then seriously just move to a flyover state and buy a couple of shotguns already. This place is legit. After moving to DC post living in Asheville, NC, I have missed out on Mexican food more times than I can count. THIS is a taqueria. If you have to know Spanish to order, or have to grunt and point, it’s authentic. Al Pastor tacos were awesome, chorizo could have been a little more spicy but that’s what the hot sauce is for. I had the mango Auga Fresca which was exceptionally tasty. $ 2.50 per taco, plus they have burritos and other stuff on the menu. Everything’s under $ 10, which is awesome considering all the ridiculous prices you can find elsewhere. I absolutely will be back again and again at least until I try everything they have. Also PS go next door and get some tasty Mexican pastries for dessert; they have an amazing selection! Also I will be LMFAO at the Bro H forever and ever and ever. Only in Farifax county would someone go to a taqueria in a tiny strip mall sandwiched in between two pupuserias and a Mexican grocery store and complain about their ability to comprehende Ingles.

Friendly service, good flavor. Horchata wasn’t that great. Their rice isn’t that good. Papas fritas under fried. But the carne asada, was seasoned well.

This place is the bomb! Delicious, authentic, and relatively cheap. Any time I’m in Arlington, I’ll be stopping by here. They make their own salsa and have everything on the menu I could possibly want. Although the parking lot can be a little tricky, everything else about this place makes me happy. In sum, I’m a huge fan. You should check it out.

Just add this to my list of favorite taco places in Arlington. I end up getting the same thing every time – al pastor and carnitas. The meat is flavorful, and everything tastes really fresh. There’s a few different sauces to choose from, and I definitely like the spicy one. They open early on Sundays(either 9 or 10), which is great for me. Staff has always been very friendly. Parking lot can be tough to navigate during busier hours.

I give it 3 ½ stars. Stopped by for lunch on a Sunday. Ordered 1 carnitas taco and 1 al pastor taco both fully loaded w/onion, cilantro and radish. The carnitas were very fatty and ok flavor, but the pastor was delicious. Selection of green sauce(mild) and red sauce(hot). After ordering, it took 10 to 12min to arrive. Unusual serving setup. Order at the counter and food is prepared in the back kitchen and brought out to the counter for the dress up of onion and cilantro. This is authentic Mexican food. I will return.

Hell yes… So happy I read about this place. As good a taco as you’d get in Los Angeles. Pan Dulche in the market, along with Tres Leches cakes, and flan. Looks like they also sell tamales of varying sorts… Anyway, the tacos are excellent simple tacos. No BS. I’ll be back to try the huaraches and tortas.

So my quest to find a taqueria joint in this area that has pork on a vertical spit-fire grill is finally done! This place is legiittt, they slice pork off of a burning vertical spit and you get the perfect texture for Al Pastor tacos, the only real way you should eat al pastor tacos. Everywhere else here are fake al pastor tacos where the pork is fried on a skillet. They even slice a fresh pineapple which goes perfectly with the sliced pork. The carnitas here are pretty legit as well, it’s not soft and has a perfect outside, slightly charred texture. They also have some other really interesting meat options, as in pig brains, cow head, beef lengue(which is pretty common actually), beef intestines, pig skin, and other organs you probably don’t want to hear. Yes I did try some of said stuff above, and they were actually good. But the al pastor was definitely my favorite, followed by the carnitas. Everything is really fair prices, only $ 2.50 for legit tacos, and they give a lot of meat too. The staff who work here are really nice and helpful as well. It’s not as good as Tacos El Gordo(the infamous taqueria joint, originally from Tijuana, with ones open in San Diego and Vegas), but it’s still really good and now I don’t have an urge to fly out West to have to get verticle spit sliced pork al pastor tacos, I can just come here now. I was soooo full and yet I kept eating past what my stomach could handle, a mark of a five star place.

If you are looking for the street stall taco experience in Mexico, this is the closest proxy in the Washington DC area(perhaps barring the El Chilango food truck west of Rosslyn on Route 50). A glance at the posted list of tacos will compound the sense of ‘authentic’: you can get a $ 2.50 taco with Tripa(beef intestines), Buche(pork stomach), Cueritos(pigskins), Cabeza(beef head), Sesos(beef brains) or Lengua(beef tongue). Given my queezy tummy, I stuck to the tried and tested Al Pastor, sliced off slow-grilled, Doner Kepab-style, vertical meat spit. This is how street stalls in Mexico slow-grill their Al Pastor meat. Also I tested the Chorizo. My next test of authenticity is the size of the tortillas. These are small, thin, served doubled, and definitely pass the sniff test. Now on to the toppings. Sliced radishes? Check. Dangerously spicy looking concoction with vinegary onions and sliced unidentified chillies? Check. Limon, cilantro, salsa, and cut up jalapenos? Check. All good. The next time I go I’ll be hunting for some crema and guacamole, and maybe tell them to go more generous on the salsa, but I was slightly scared of the spiciness. My tab? $ 9 for three generous and deliciously savory tacos, fully loaded and fully authentic. I am so happy to have found a tacqueria which has authentic spice levels, just the right mix of crunchy, zesty toppings to offset the flavorful meat, and the small tortillas. Check all my other tacqueria reviews and you’ll see I have been complaining about U.S.sized tortillas(so wrong!) and U.S. quantities of meat in tacos(doubly wrong!). Not here. This is the real deal. I didn’t drink the horchata but they do have that as well as the zingy Mexican sodas. I am in heaven. You’ll find me here, with the friendly, young staff who are running around making sure you are well-taken care at least once a week. Oh, when you are done eating, check out the panaderia next door with fantastic sweet breads and cakes for breakfast the next day. They also have fabulous dried chillies, dried spices and crates of mangos. A full bakery and a butchershop adjacent to the restaurant. Truly wonderful. All those immigrant-bashing Repugs on Congress need to visit, and they will be seduced into signing a common-sense immigration amnesty for the country, immediately. Immigration’s true riches are to be seen and tasted here. Arlington has just gone up in my ratings thanks to this modest exterior, but authentic and big-flavored Mexican establishment.

I had spotted La Jarochita #2 a while ago when going to get some pupusas in the same shopping center but it was still under construction. Randomly on a Friday night I remembered that I wanted to go back and see La Jarochita #2 had opened and as luck would have it, in all of its glory, a «GRANDOPENING» sign was hanging in the front. My boyfriend and I are both Latino and love going to all of the markets and restaurants in Arlington but it is usually hard to find authentic Mexican in the neighborhood. As soon as we walked into the grocery side of La Jarochita #2 we noticed that even though the shelves were fully stocked the place still looked sparse. However, the bread section really blew us away. Everything looked so fresh and carefully made. We took home some croissants and couldn’t help ourselves so we ate one in the car on the way home! We also decided to try some food on the restaurant side. Again, this is definitely a «hole in the wall» but has potential to be so much more. The food is quite delicious and very authentic. I had two tacos, al pastor and carnitas while my boyfriend had al pastor and stomach tacos. We were both very satisfied and will be going back. We have a feeling that because of the name the owner might be from Veracruz so perhaps they will get some seafood on the menu!

It was Kids Day 2014 and we decided to take my nieces and little brother somewhere new. My mother had brought me a grand opening leaflet for Jarochita #2 and I was sold. I love latino/asian markets with a butcher in the back, a bakery section, and an eat-in shop on the side. I have to admit that I haven’t traveled to far outside of Arlington in search of tacos. These tacos blew my mind though. I went again that same night for dinner. For lunch, I had a carne asada gordita, a chorizo taco, and an Al Pastor taco. My nieces both had carne asada tacos, my boyfriend had the pork burrito, and my little brother had the carne asada torta. We all left satisfied, taste– and fullness-wise. The Al Pastor meat was tender and I loved the chunks of pineapple. I like to think of the pork meat on the spit as a mexican döner. The gordita’s masa was not bland, so the meat did not need to be strongly seasoned. The taco’s tortillas were heated appropriately and stayed soft. Thank goodness after having some super hard and dry tortillas at Pollo Campero a few weeks earlier. There was a toppings bar with various salsas, onions, cilantro, lime wedges, radishes and pickled jalapenos for the tacos. One negative, I would stay away from the refried beans because they were served cold and were not as thick as I would like them. The prices were reasonable and I spent less money than if I had taken the kids to a chain restaurant. Three tacos, a burrito, and a torta will each average around $ 7.50. Although the shop was decently full, we did not wait more than 5 – 6 minutes for our food, except for my boyfriend. He ordered his burrito in a quiet voice(he’s shy when speaking in Spanish) and it was never entered into the system. I found the service to be quick and decently friendly for being so busy. The food does not always come out at the same time, so be aware of the orders that they are calling out. The shop was very clean in my opinion. On the shop side: They have a wide variety of dried and pickled peppers, taco meat, cheeses, creams, and freshly baked breads. I didn’t buy anything but would consider shopping there the next time I grab lunch there.
