Hyatt Arlington

A lot smaller hotel than I expected. The parking lot is super small and very hard to find a «valet» parking. Staff was very friendly though.

Fantastic four night stay.
Super close to the Roslyn Metro station. Don’t want to use Metro? Über drivers will drive right up to the door to pick you up; Über taking you to Dulles or Reagan International is not a problem.

I stayed here recently when I came to DC for the weekend. I had a peaceful and wonderful stay. If I come back to the area, I will definitely remember this hotel.
My room was on the 12^th floor. I had a standard king suite. The room came with sleek and luxurious finishes. Bed was big and comfy. Small refrigerator and I had a great view of the busy streets. Beautiful Walk-​in glass shower in the bathroom. Whenever I needed anything the front desk was sure to accommodate me. I ordered room service and the food was delicious. Also, it was delivered in a timely manner. Room attendants kept everything nice and clean.
Business center and fitness center were both 24 hour access. Also after 8:00 pm you had to have your room key to access the elevators. There is a restaurant on the first floor.

We stayed here on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend as part of a wedding party. The hotel is conveniently located in Rosslyn, which is right across from DC and also right next to the Rosslyn Metro. The hotel looked very clean and modern, and our room was also adequately clean. Staff was friendly and answered all our questions with a smile. I was also very happy with the price, $ 99/​night for a holiday weekend. I know hotels in DC charge much more, and even other ones in Arlington are more expensive.
The two cons of this hotel are the parking and noise levels. Parking costs $ 23/​night in their private garage. I STRONGLY suggest you check in first, then find suitable parking elsewhere if you can. I made the mistake of parking first and then finding out my stay would be $ 23 more than expected. The noise level overall in the hotel was not bad, but every time someone passed by in the halls we could hear them talking very clearly. The opposite effect also happened, where we could make out distinct conversations and talking in each hotel room as we passed by in the halls. This is a drawback, especially for those looking for sleep or for relaxation.
Overall, it’s a good value for a hotel and quite a nice hotel itself. The parking and noise issues are problematic, but otherwise I enjoyed my stay there.

and it is a beautiful hotel; very clean and upscale. The only thing that absolutely sucks about it, is the location. If you bring your own vehicle, your only option is valet and it is about $ 35 a day; the positive part about the valet is you can keep your car there until 6pm your check out day and take the train to DC.

Overall, the hotel was great. Employees were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was a short walk from the metro and bus stop. I did really appreciate the free WiFi, the two free bottles of water every day, and the copious number of pillows on my king-​sized bed, as well as all the free amenities they provide with a quick call to the front desk (in my case, slippers for the room and a vanity kit).
Two areas of improvement would be providing a free breakfast and changing the location of the AC vent so that it didn’t blow right onto my bed (making my room either freezing cold or stiflingly warm).
Be careful with the luggage check. When I came back in the late afternoon for my luggage, the employee who went to get my bags did so solely on my general description, without checking the ticket numbers (even though I provided the stubs). He initially even brought out the wrong suitcase for me to take (yikes!). This made me a little nervous because I had two laptops with me, and I would caution against storing any valuables with them.

, which is what I used for this trip. At $ 84/​night with a $ 25 discount code, this stay was considered money well spent.

I found this hotel last minute on Hotwire at a great deal, but the down fall was $ 25 (self) or $ 27 (valet) parking. On top of $ 50 a night for incidentals. Checking in the hotel staff went above and beyond! The check in process wasn’t long at all. Upon arrival to my room I found a pillowcase in my bathroom sink, sink wasn’t all that clean, and the room was a bit on the dusty side. I didn’t complain I just wanted to sleep at that point. The next morning I left a note for the housekeeper letting her know that room could have been better. I informed hotel staff about the room they said I should have called to let them know. My thoughts I really shouldn’t have to if your housekeeper does her job.

BEWARE! do not stay here if you have a car! I pulled into the Hyatt and a valet approached me asking if I wanted the car valeted. I told him I wanted it valeted only if he could angle it because it is a low car/​corvette. The valet said «yeah yeah it’s no problem» and I give him the keys. I go in to check into the hotel and the individual I drove in with watched the valet go straight down the hill and scratch the car hard against the concrete, come back around to the lobby and get out of the car and shrug to the manager of the valet service. I come out from checking in, and the person I drove to DC with, informed me that the valet did not angle the car like asked and scratched the bottom. I come out and approach the valet asking him if he scratched the car. The valet says «no no I didn’t scratch it» so I go over to the car and see 3 two inch threads of plastic and paint hanging off my front bumper on the left. I point this out and he’s like «well we aren’t sure if we did it and because of the hill it’s impossible to not hit the car» at this point there’s about 5 people standing outside wAtching this situation unfold. I tell the manager «look I don’t want to fight you about this please just give me a insurance card or claims form.» He gives me a claims form and I go inside to fill it out bc there is no flat surface to write on. I come back our and there are 3 valet guys surrounding my car with their hands on it and one of them ripped off the pieces of material hanging from my car to try and cover it up. I know this because I went outside after filling out the form to take a picture of the damage and those guys are standing over my car saying there’s no damage and they don’t see anything. This whole process took about 2.15 hours from when I first arrived. Customers who were watching waited that 2 hours to approach me saying they would back me up because they saw the whole thing happen. LAZ parking is not ethical at all, lied to my face multiple times, and I would never come back to this hotel just because they are associated with the valet. Now the hotel did give me free Parking in a section with a camera bc I did not trust these guys who owned the parking lot. The front manager, said that since I haven’t physically walked into the the room she couldn’t do anything to make this debacle better. So I agreed to stay bc I have driven 7 hours to get here, it was now ~7:45−8pm and I wasn’t able to get another hotel for the week. She did give us a free breakfast for one day and free parking.
The next day after thinking about everything, I asked the manager if I could see the footage of what happened to see if I needed to even pursue anything or just let this whole thing slide. She told me that it was Hyatt property and she did not need to let me see the footage of that night. At this point I’m upset bc if she shows me and its nothing then we can move on, but she doesn’t show me anything.
The last night I am parking my car and a LAZ employee approaches me saying I can’t park there, luckily the original manager, Jamine, was there and she tried to explain to him that I could park on that level. The LAZ employee raised his hands up and very forcefully and maliciously said «how is this okay». I believe she was tired and said just let him park there tonight. Jasmine has been very helpful in the whole ordeal. I really do think she had tried to do her best as a manager to smooth things. However this review is negative not because of the hotel or its «policies» but because of the third party that it associates with.
Spend the extra money and stay closer to DC or park it yourself. I would never want to go through this experience again.

I have stayed at many Hyatts (I’m a rewards member) and this certainly is one of my favorites. This was my second stay here, and it definitely surpassed my first. I enjoy the location of the hotel (steps from the metro), I enjoy the style and comfort, and I really enjoy the friendly staff. The resturaunt on the 2^nd floor is delicious and the Starbucks was a great resort for a grab and go breakfast. Rooms are a decent size and I found the bed very comfortable.
My only complaint from both stays is the sounds of the neighbor’s doors opening and closing woke me up multiple days in the morning. In addition, someone moved a cart or tray at like 3 in the morning of my last evening there, which again woke me up. Other than that, I find this place worth the value!

For Hyatt, I have experienced much better.
The only room available was a double — I did not even know hotels sold double rooms anymore. The tub sounded like it was breaking underneath me while I was in the shower. The towels left fuzz all over — I washed my face and had white fuzz that I had to wipe off. The outlet next to my bed did not work so I had to charge my phone/​alarm on the opposite side of the room. They have a restaurant on premise but it is not that good. Sub-​par food and very slow service.
It is located downtown so you can get anywhere very quickly, granted you are not sitting in traffic the whole time.

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever heard. No phone reception and they don’t offer phone service in your room! My wife was on a business trip and unfortunately stayed in this jungle called hotel! I had an emergency at home and needed to talk to her, but guess what? No way to get in touch with her.
Run away from this place!

Another great stay at the arlington hyatt!
I am so grateful for my time here — they greeted me with a cheese and fruit plate, I enjoyed old-​school ice cream every night (think King Cones and Strawberry Shortcakes) and slept like a baby in my king sized bed. Even though there is a lot happening in the hotel and surrounding are, the rooms are totally silent, which is perfect for someone like me who gets home really late and sleeps really late!
Great amenities as usual and free breakfast every morning. What more could a girl ask for. Thank you Hyatt Arlington! Hope yo see you soon!

The stay. My wife and I were here during cherry blossom season, and this Hyatt was convenient located and only 10 – 15 minutes away from all the action. There are also many different restaurants within a 2 block radius that will cater to your liking.
I didn’t like how the bed was so squeaky and it just felt it was worn out. (We got a king size bed) The smell of the room and the bathroom did smell clean, so that was good. However, upon coming in, before using the bathroom, I realized that there were 2 dried urine drops and blood from somebody’s period on the rim of the toilet. I know I know, its a toilet. But I just checked into this room. Shouldn’t it be completely clean? It made me wonder if anything else was clean.
The service. After I discovered the issue mentioned above, I called the front desk ASAP. Julie at the front desk picked up and was very nice. The late person, Nate, that gives your room supplies and I guess cleans was very courteous and did a good job in cleaning what the cleaning person couldn’t.
My wife and I couldn’t sleep during our whole stay at the Hyatt Arlington because the bed and pillow was just too saggy. Also note that, there are 16 floors, we were put on the 14^th. You can still hear cars from this high up.
In addition, for those fellow T-​Mobile phone users, please be warned that T-​Mobile oddly does not work in this hotel. The front desk people tell me its an issue of T-​Mobile not having a tower installed in the area. However, if you step outside of the hotel, and even across the street at Panera bread, I get my LTE speeds. I don’t think they’re lying though, because when I dine at some restaurants within a 1 – 2 block radius, I also don’t get reception. Perhaps its a weak signal? Anyway, just beware, that if you need your phone for either calling or surfing the web, your T-​Mobile service would not work… And you’ll be forced to purchase an internet plan which I believe was 6 – 7 dollars a night. I just think its kind of ridiculous to charge people for a data plan simply because T-​Mobile doesn’t work too well in this neighborhood.
If you call the front desk, they will have a person with your request item within 10 minutes, such as a box of tissues, or a foam pillow. I thought that was amazing. Although the staff here was very nice and accommodating; the overall cleanliness of the hotel was on par. My wife and I only book Hyatt, however, I would not be returning to this Hyatt. Free WiFi should be something standard to all that can prove they are T-​Mobile customers. Next time I go to DC, I’ll be trying the Hyatt near The White House, or Capitol Building.

I did not stay at the Hyatt so I cannot comment on the rooms. I was here for two days (day time only) for meetings. It took me a while to find the place and to find the parking. The website says self parking is $ 23/​day — YIKES — but when I got there — early bird parking was really only $ 8/​day. Much better!
The meeting services — room set up and room temperature was very good. Food, snacks and drinks were all well-​appointed. I realize that some of that is due to what the sponsoring organization ordered but the hotel staff was friendly, attentive and kept things on time.
When I left each day I had to ask for directions to different places. The bell hops had an accent but made sure to give me very detailed directions and ensured that I understood exactly what they said and where to go.
Although I had little interaction and have an overnight stay, I was pleased with the facility and the staff.

This hotel id in a perfect location. Metro train just across the street. Safeway only about a block and a half away to stock mini frig in the room. Walking distance to the Arlington Cemetery. Beds were so soft. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend to a friend and I will stay again if ever back in the area!

I wish I could review this hotel with negative stars! Worst stay ever!
The entire staff was rude. The general manager said it was because we booked through Priceline so we get the amenities we paid for.
Maid service did not clean room the entire day and we asked front desk to please send someone. We waited 2 hours for them to arrive and do a half a**ed cleaning job.
Parking is so expensive and you only get it ‘complimentary’ when you pay full hotel amount — said the manager!
I have never been treated so poorly at a hotel.
Horrible! Rude! And I never even write reviews, but this needed attention.
4-​star hotel, my a**!!

My stay here has been mediocre. For the amount we paid per night, I think the amenities are so-​so.
Some things to note:
–if you are staying at this hotel, bring a hair dryer. While a hair dryer is standard at most hotels, there is not one in my room.
–plan to pay another $ 10.95 for wifi.
–the bar is small and they are more concerned with going home on time than providing good service and getting a tip
–I’ve seen a couple sketchy people hanging around the hotel since I’ve been here. I don’t feel in danger but they don’t seem to be guests here. Just lingering in the bar.
–there’s something broken on the drain in the shower
There are many places to eat in the area, which makes it convenient. The cab fare to the airport and other places in DC is cheap. I probably won’t choose to stay here again, but it’s fine.

Good location and recently renovated. And the elevator card access (post 8pm) is actually in place instead of just there for show.
The check in process was relatively smooth. Though they didn’t acknowledge that I am a platinum member like in other Hyatt locations. Other locations also typically know that I prefer quiet rooms which I had to specifically request this time.
The room is spacious, part of the bathrooms seems to be renovated. And I did get a quiet room. Ask for the jogging route map which was useful since I would not have been able to find the pathways with my iphone.

I love the location of this Hyatt. It’s the closest to the Rosslyn metro station you can possibly get. A few stops and you’re in the heart of everything in DC. There’s a café (serves one flavor of Starbucks) by the lobby that converts into a bar at night. There’s a restaurant too called «CityHouse.» I didn’t get a chance to try it out because there were better places to spend my dollars and calories.
I do like that the elevators require room card access after 8 PM. There is free wifi in the lobby, but not in your rooms. I don’t get how expensive hotels charge for wifi yet cheaper places it’s free, like the Courtyard of Marriott. Even Holiday Inn down the street has free Wifi.
The room itself is small. With the double beds, the room is very tight, so I don’t get why there were all these extra pieces of furniture, ie a chair, end table, and a big floor lamp crowded into the window side of the room. There are blackout curtains between the sheer drapes and the window. I think the noise insulation was pretty good. I couldn’t really hear the neighbors. The jets flying overhead were barely audible. The AC rumbles on, waking the dead. When it’s not on, it was insanely hot and stuffy. There were only sheets between the comforter and you. No duvet covers. Definitely low thread count sheets. I like to bring my own «cocoon» to sleep in.
Housekeeping didn’t do a good job preparing our room for check-​in because there were a pile of dirty towels on the shower curtain rod and hair on the disposable coffee cup and telephone cord. Gross!
There was some confusion about when they were shutting down the water to fix the water main, but it got delayed.
Otherwise, the hotel room wasn’t bad.

This was my first experience with a Hyatt in a very long time.
I must say I was happy to come back to the brand. This particular location is very nice, with a sexy outdoor patio and nice modern décor, as one would expect from a Hyatt.
This location gets extra points still since it’s only a block from the Rosslyn Metro Station. From here, is a quick hop into D.C., and if you head the other direction it’s just as quick a hop to Reagan National Airport. No car required.
Service was extremely friendly, pretty good dining, and as usual we made extensive use of room service during our stay. Because of the quick hop to/​from the airport and to/​from the city, Hyatt Arlington is now our exclusive choice when visiting the D.C. area.
And because of this positive experience, I now have a reliable back-​up hotel for future travels should we be unable to stay at our first choice, an InterContinental.
