Greener Cleaner of Clarendon

The worst dry cleaners I’ve been too. I’ve never had issues before but since moving here they seem to arise on a weekly basis. Shirts have been stained and permanently ruined, my buttons are crushed by the presser, next day service is… well…just the regular 3 day service, and anything left in a pocket will NOT be returned. I’m glad I didn’t leave money. The only reason I go now is because it’s close and the office has a deal with them. :(

The only cleaners we’ve ever used since moving to Clarendon. People who work there are so nice, and the turn around time is really fast. A bit pricey for alterations, but nice work.

Came in on Monday dropped my tux off picked it up Tuesday and it smelled nasty when i dropped it off but when i got it back smelled brand new I really like this location because i live half a block down the the road I can leave my dog at the dog park around the corner its really convenient staff is friendly always chatting about whats going on in the neighborhood The owner I belive his name is Geno he Knows everyone in Clarendon I call him CNN

I have given this place WAY too many chances to get it right but they continue to fail. The clothes continue to come back dirty (especially related to routine areas like the neck of business shirts). Even though they are very convenient for me, I will be walking the extra blocks to a place that actually cleans your clothes instead of one that that keeps saying to «bring them back if they are still dirty» (repeatedly).

I only get shirts laundered but I’ve been very satisfied. Prices are reasonable for the convenience I receive and my shirts are always ready and available when promised.

I’ve been to this place about 3 times, first time for alterations, and the other 2 for just cleaning, I had read previous reviews but I figured id give them a try, even though I was weary. The girl that works there, I think her name was Tiffany? She was extraordinary, she said I could get my clothes next day, you could tell she has experience in customer service. I think the older reviews were from another owner, I asked the manager about them, and they explained the previous owner didn’t really care to go above and beyond expectations and that they took over in July of 2013, and ever since. I thought they did a great job and will continue to go there since it’s so close to my apartment!

I think this is the cleaner I’m thinking of — it’s actually on N Herndon St though if I’m not mistaken. I’m pretty new in town, about 4 months or so, and I started coming here because it is so close to where I live. However, I keep coming back because the people there are so so nice, and my clothes are always great — no complaints at all! They recently fixed a silk blouse for me, which I wasn’t sure could be repaired, but it looks pretty much perfect to me. The last time I was in there, another patron told me that the business had recently changed hands, which may be the reason for some negative reviews here, because honestly, the man who owns the business is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. Super friendly, always helpful and cheerful, and the prices are good too! I’ll definitely keep coming back!

I use this cleaner every week. They are absolutely reliable and my clothes are always ready on time and don’t smell of strong cleaning chemicals. I have had several pairs of pants and a suit jacket tailored at the shop and they came out great.

I went there last Fri for them to take in my pants since I lost a lot of weight and I had a funeral to attend sat. they did an excellent job and rushed it for me, also when I picked up my dry cleaning that I dropped at the same time I was very impressed with the overall job but especially with my shirts. I will make this my cleaner going forward

I’ve been through a tailoring nightmare here. They ruined several of my shirts by cutting off too much fabric. I wanted a refund but allowed them to try to fix them. It didn’t work. The owner said he’d make it right by getting new shirts and redoing the work. I just wanted a refund but agreed, hoping this would be a simple way to resolve the problem. This took a long time, and when I finally got the shirts, I discovered that he had substituted shirts from the outlet mall that were of a different size or color than the originals. I had bought the shirts at a retail store. I asked for a refund again, and he told me he was shocked by my request, that I should have discovered his secret substitution earlier, and that I’m out of luck. So I’m going to have to resort to formal action against him, be it through the attorney general or a lawsuit. I’m very displeased and will likely opt to bring claims under Virginia’s Consumer Protection Act because it allows for the recovery of damages, as well as attorneys’ fees and civil penalties. I also intend to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I am very, very upset and believe that the owner Serdar’s furtive substitution of inferior shirts was incredibly misleading.

WHATEVER YOU DO: DONT GO THERE. ONE STAR BECAUSE I HAVE NO CHOICE!!! I brought in a jacket with no stain just wanted to freshen it and press it, they gave it back with stains that they now cant remove them… I went in 3 times, to go back to pick it up, only to hear that i had to come back and they would try again. On the third occasion, i finally asked for a refund, as i was promised would happen if they were unable to remove the stains they created. The owner was there per my request and was SO rude, he refused not only to give me a refund, but took the jacket from my hands and put it behind the register saying i was not allowed to touch it and i had to leave the store. He got violent with me and my bf had to step in and ask him not to touch me!!! Imagine if he hadn’t been there!!! He called the cops because i refused to leave the store as he 1) didnt want to refund 2) give me my items that were behind the register and that i had already paid for. (This is almost funny). The cops came, and requested him to give me my jacket back and he refused to give it!!! The cops then asked me to step outside while they delt with him. After telling him he didn’t have a choice, they came outside and let me know i would get my item back, as well as a refund if i wanted to provide my address so he could mail me a check as he does not provide cash back. I asked the cops if they thought it was a good idea to provide my address to such a business owner, they responded that they would take the loss and not provide any address to this guy. I agreed, took my item and left. They also recommended a terrible review be written on Unilocal.So here it is! My bf was trying to pick up his ties, and the owner refused to get his ties. Cops had to get them back for him. This owner could not get ¹⁄₅ ties cleaned and responded to him that «it’s your food stains, nothing i can do about it» and he responded «as far as i knew, i brought stains to a cleaner for them to remove the stains.» The cashier that works there let me know that they have customer complaints daily and that the owner is very rude to his customers and herself. The name of the owner is SERDAR BASEGMEZ and his cell phone # is 703−909−8831. Don’t stop calling him and complaining!!! That’s all he deserves!!! Oh and if you were bringing clothes to get cleaned here, most likely you will pick them up with more stains than when you brought them in!!! so think TWICE!!! The cop even asked how this guy gets the clothes cleaned since this is just a room and looks like a really shady business… Appearently they bring clothes to the «plant» and bring them back here for pick up. Don’t get fooled into the $ 10 for $ 20 groupon!!! IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!! YOU WILL NEED TO BUY NEW CLOTHES ANYWAYS!!!

First, I must say that I am satisfied with the cleaning job. My clothes weren’t spectacularly soiled or anything. But it was nice to pick the clothes up and not have them smell like tar.
However, what sullied my experience was the badly trained staff. I went to pick up my clothes on Monday around noon. I had the $ 20 for $ 10 coupon from Unilocal.My total came out to $ 21.80. The lady at the counter then told me I owed her $ 11.80. When I pointed out to her the coupon was worth $ 20 and that it’d be foolish of me to pay $ 10 for a $ 10 coupon, she completely brushed aside what I said and insisted the coupon was only worth $ 10. This went back and forth a few times until I asked the customer behind me to interpret the coupon for us. It was only after both of us told her the coupon was worth $ 20 she let me use the full value. What really turned me off was she made it sound like she was doing me a favor. If the owner/​manager is reading this, PLEASE TRAIN YOUR STAFF CORRECTLY. If this place wasn’t so ridiculously close to where I live, I’d swear the place off forever. But the convenience factor will have me coming back a few times before I render a final verdict.

As this business is fairly new, I decided to take advantage of the 20% off first-​time customer special. I liked the idea of an eco-​friendly cleaner (although I still don’t know what it entails), and the hours are fantastic — open early, late, and on weekends.
I brought in a dress which had a bad spot on it from the last dry cleaner’s I had taken it to that I couldn’t seem to get off and a goose-​down comforter that the cat had made a mess on.
The dress came out perfect. There is no trace of the original stain.
The comforter, on the other hand, was in bad shape. The feathers had clumped and hardened, and there was virtually no fill power left between the fabric. It was pretty much ruined.
I brought this to the attention of the staff, and they immediately offered to clean it again free of charge. A few days later, I got a call from the owner with his work and personal cell numbers, asking me to call him back.
He explained that the work that was done on my comforter was not up to his standards, and that he had contacted the manufacturer of the comforter to work out the best way to clean items of that type more effectively in the future. He also told me right off the bat that he would be buying me a brand new comforter (which wasn’t exactly cheap to begin with). He was extremely gracious and apologetic.
I am definitely pleased with my experience — it was upsetting at first when the comforter came out looking and feeling so bad, but I am very happy with the other work done by this business as well as their offering up-​front to replace the comforter and apologizing for the inconvenience. I think it says a lot about them that they’re trying to keep this from happening again, also — thank God the comforter wasn’t an irreplaceable item.
