This place has the best barbacoa tacos I have ever had. You get with 6 or 7 with your order(I can’t remember) and they cost about 7 $. Great food for a great price. I gave it 4 stars because they charge extra for sour cream and sometimes they forget to put the cilantro and lime in my order, lol

The best chargrilled Mexican flavored chicken. The lunch specials are the best. Get a satisfying 2 piece meal for $ 5.49 plus tax. Comes with rice and beans, plus 3 tortillas. Unlimited chips and salsa when dining in. Or if you need a half chicken lunch it’s $ 8 and some change. The green salsa is like crack at Regios. I’m so addicted to it. They have a small but good salsa bar.

We like the chicken tacos. I also pick up the pollo entero pretty often to feed the family.

I’ve had regios from different locations and I’ve always been satisfied with the service and food. However this location seem to always disappoint. It usually just happens at the drive thru. Although their service is pretty quick indoors, the drive thru is like a 25 minute wait. In addition, they seem to always get the order wrong. For instance, today my boyfriend ordered raw onions for a side, and made sure he repeated it so that there wasn’t a misunderstanding, but they still gave him a side of grilled onions. I understand that people are not perfect and mistakes can happen, but this kind of mistake has happened to us more than once here. Not only us but to others from what I read from previous Unilocal reviewers about this location. I don’t recommend this establishment over the other El Pollo Regio locations, especially their drive thru.

I strongly recommend not coming to this location. Their absolute inability to get food out in a timely fashion with an accurate order deserves zero customers. When I came in to the Restaraunt due to the fact that my drive-through order was screwed up, the manager was eating in the restaurant section. The server tried to explain well I’m sorry it doesn’t print out. This one the receipt actually says exactly what I ordered. The staff clearly lacks discipline and follow through. The fact that I have to audit their work before I leave the drive-through is reprehensible. If this was the first occasion of this I would not be as negative. Additionally it does not take 12 minutes to make a quesadilla fries and three green salsa. I am willing to pay a premium when food is of good quality and service is adequate. As this clearly is no longer the case at this location my recommendation is to save the money and go to taco Bueno Or other like fast food location. The only semi-redeeming factor was that they immediately returned my money when I gave them back the meal. What one must think is, how many people they committed theft by not providing them all the items of their order through the drive-through

Great food. My brother brought my daughter and I here for lunch. He was talking this place up. Well he was right. The chicken was great! The sides were great too! I will be back for more on my return back to Texas.

The only thing I enjoyed was the chips and different salsas. The chicken flautas were gross and the beans and rice don’t even compare to the ones at the regio on pioneer parkway. Very disappointed:(

We prefer this smaller El Regio on Cooper Street over the larger one on Pioneer. The chicken on Cooper St seems to have more fresh flavor. Too bad they don’t offer the red onions and habenaros mixture like they do at the Pioneer location. This location is too small to have a side bar. An order of a half of a chicken is a lot if food for today and tomorrow. The rice is salty but flavorful. It tastes a lot like Rice A Roni. It is really tasty if you mix hot Rotel with it. I enjoy coming here when I want to treat mysel, but I do not like the dangerous u-turn that I have to make to go back north on Cooper St.

Great food and fast service. The creamy green salsa is the best. Very authentic taste. Not tex mex.

When I went here. I wanted to see what grilled chicken would taste like. The whole chicken was dry. like over cooked dry. it was a bit disappointed but the side items are good. I loved the rice. It came with tortillas. So basically like a fijita. I thought that was pretty cool. Togo fajita. I liked the grilled veggies it comes with too. I think their batch of chicken I got was dry. Maybe their other batches of chicken wasn’t so dry. Who knows. Until I try it again. will i go back? not really. just a one time experience

This chain isn’t as good as the one’s in Austin by far. If you’re in Austin, try and compare, you’ll see what I mean. Nethertheless, El Pollo Regio is still a perfect quick spot to grab some grub while you wait for your car to be cleaned next door! Or for any ‘ol time for many reasons. Its a better choice for fast food and the prices are great! My husband and I shared a half chicken which includes 1 breast, thigh, drumstick, and wing, rice, beans and tortillas for 8.00! Two drinks racked up the total cost with tax to around 13 bucks. The meal was already ready and on the tray by the time we ordered it so no wait! TRYTHISPLACE. You won’t be disappointed.

Good place to swing by and grab a fast bite. I must suggest you try the baked potatoe with fajita meat on it. It is huge and I had no intentions of eating the whole thing, but guess what… I couldn’t stop eating it! Oh well I got carbed up for my jog the next day. Happy eating

This place has the best grilled chicken I have ever had, I don’t know what kind of spices they put on it, but I wish I knew! I usually order ½ a chicken(can feed two people) and it comes with a side of beans(spicy and full of flavor) and rice(a little bland), an onion, tortillas, limes, and two salsas: green and red. The green salsa is excellent! I tried to get extra salsas and they wanted to charge me $ 1 for 3.

Post workout dinner lead me here. I want something full of protein that was quite lean and this was the place. I actually prefer this location over the other location because their beans aren’t as salty and the chicken was much juicier. I can’t comment on the beef because I’ve never had it at either location. I always go for the ½ chicken meal because I’ll have food for the following day and for a little over $ 8, it’s not too bad. :) The rice is ok. It’s still a bit salty like the other location.

Went in today for lunch, we kept passing this place and decided to try I today. I ordered the chicken mole and it was very good. My husband ordered the tacos and ate them all before I could ask for a bite. He said they were good. We ordered a chicken quesadilla for the boys and it was kinda dissapointing. If we wanted a pile of chicken with a little bit of cheese it might have been just right, but for kids needed less meat and more cheese. Ordered three meals for the four of us and went home with enough for another two people. Value was great!

Thuy and I were actually heading to another restaurant when I spied this new(at least to me) Regio location. When we get to our intended destination, it was closed, so we decided to head back to Regio. I was thinking a number 4, taco de carne asada, would be pretty tasty. So we walk in and first thing I notice is I don’t get the same happy vibe as I did from the Pioneer location( ). The young girl behind the counter did not seem to care about customer satisfaction at all. I already know what I want, but Thuy takes a moment to look over the menu. This seems to annoy the girl, even though there was no one behind us and only a couple of tables seated(at Regio’s you order at the counter and you pick up your order when it’s ready). Thuy decides on a number 10(beef tacos). We place our order and get asked a couple of questions I did not understand, and for that matter never did, even though a) they were repeated and b) the girl spoke perfect English. No big deal. I order a horchata, Thuy requests a water. Well they are out of «little cups» so the only way Thuy is going to get a water is if she buys a cup. No thanks. Food arrives(it was actually delivered to us, by the young girl, so I’m sending some credit back her way). The first couple bites of my meal tasted OK, though the beef was a bit tough. But then it started to get saltier and saltier. Not to the point I could not eat it, it just stopped hitting the notes I wanted. Also the horchata tasted very diluted. It did not have the richnes I was expecting. Thuy’s tacos were good, though they forgot the lime and I did not feel like asking for it. As we left we realized this location was not billowing the wonderful scent of the roasted chicken… So either it was not roasting time(seems they are always roasting over on Pioneer), or the chicken gets delivered to this location. Bottom line: I prefer the Pioneer location(and it’s not that far away).
