We specialize in «jewelry made from fruit,» also known as organic jewelry, all handmade by a Colombian woman artisan! Our jewelry is created from orange peel, cantaloupe seeds, coffee beans, tagua nuts, dalmatian beans, acai berries, and bombona seeds, all found in the Amazon Rainforest of Colombia. Some of our items even have the same delicious fragrance inherent to their fruit! We welcome women to enjoy an entirely new jewelry experience, all while going beyond fair trade to improve the lives of the Colombian women artisans behind the scenes, who actually produce every piece by hand. We are organic, bold, and empowering, and we hope to bring «jewelry made from fruit» and the incredible story of these Colombian artisans, to a community near you!

History

Established in 2012.

We started Colombian Girl Jewelry after returning to Colombia to visit family. We were completely enamored by the concept of jewelry made from fruit and seeds, actually available in Colombia for more than a decade! Not only was the jewelry beautiful for its vibrant color and exotic design, the natural fragrance of several of the items was simply extravagant, and the variety of fruit/​seed combinations that could be used, completely incredible! But it wasn’t until we actually met the Colombian women artisans behind the scenes, that make it all by hand, that we were sold. It was their product, and their story needed to be told — and it had to be told in such a way to positively reflect back on the artisans, giving them the credit they wholly deserved! Today, we are on a mission to spread the word about «jewelry made from fruit.» By doing so, we hope to illuminate these Colombian women artisans, give them the glory, and make their dreams a reality!
