Dr. Wellborn specializes in joint reconstruction and preservation of ankle, hip, knee, and shoulder. He is trained on the modern techniques of minimally invasive, gender specific and computer assisted surgery. He has wide experience in arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine and treatment of traumatic injuries.

History

Established in 1980.

Nirschl Orthopaedic Clinic (NOC) was one of the first orthopaedic practices in the United States to combine the most current treatment techniques with a state-​of-​the-​art rehabilitation facility. Founder Robert P. Nirschl, M.D., through his research and contributions to medical literature, has been recognized both nationally and internationally as a pioneer in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopaedic and sports injuries.

NOC has been consistently rated one of the top orthopaedic and sports medicine centers in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Our physicians, with their extensive experience, are at the forefront of treating disorders of the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee. Our physicians have graduated from accredited fellowship training programs for orthopaedic surgeons with a concentration, both clinically and surgically, on the treatment of injuries of the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder and hip.
