Let me start off by saying I really like Chipotle. I’ve also worked in retail, and I know that retail and food service people can get a bad rep for stuff that isn’t their fault. This location, however, is awful. I work in an office building right by the mall, so I’m frequently in the food court to grab a quick lunch. It is a very busy Chipotle because it is located in the mall’s food court, especially during holidays or the tourist season. However, the service is mixed and they run out of things all of the time. ALLOFTHETIME. Some of the workers are very friendly and great, but others can’t be bothered with you. I can go at any time of the day/any day of the week, and I’ll get told that they don’t have the fajita veggies, don’t have black beans, don’t even have diet coke. They are out of something at least once a week, and it doesn’t matter if you go during a rush or when it’s dead. I don’t know if this is because they aren’t doing a good job with their product ordering or if they just can’t be bothered to make something when it runs out(there are times I’m truly convinced it’s the latter). One day within the past month, I went twice that week and they were out of: fajita veggies, black beans, all sodas. And they hadn’t made any fresh chicken yet even though there wasn’t enough for one serving in the bin. Another time within the past two months, I was given a soda with a cracked lid that popped off when it was handed to me, spilling all over me, into my food bag, across the counter and the floor. The female cashier gave me a dirty look and kept ringing up customers and told them to go around me while I used their napkins to clean up the area. She didn’t offer to help clean it up, she didn’t offer me a new lid or a new bag to replace the now-wet one, she didn’t offer to top off my drink from where 1⁄3 of it had spilled. And this was something that happened because of using a cracked lid and not ensuring it was completely on, not because I spilled my stuff and expected them to clean up after me. *sigh* I still eat here because it’s convenient, but there are MUCH better Chipotle locations in the area(Crystal City, Ballston, but esp Potomac Yards).

Yep the other Unilocalers are right. I thought maybe it would be different since the reviews I read were over 6 months old. Just maybe management made some changes since then. Nope they could care less. They get a steady stream of kids by the bus load(literally!) so they’re not concerned about losing business. Don’t get the steak. It’s inedible. Compared to other Chipotles they don’t seem to get the assembly line concept and how it should go a lot faster and be accurate. They also never have enough ingredients ready. This is my 3rd or 4th time here(and will be my last). I had hoped the first times were just off days because the weather has been bad but today was beautiful. Weather?! Yeah I was trying to give them any excuse. I was going to give them only 1 star for the brand name but the cashier was the only one with an efficient system so she got them another star.

As you could have guessed from reading the reviews below, this chipotle is nothing other than a complete failure and a total disgrace to the chipotle brand. Why chipotle has not realized this is beyond me. Not only did we wait in line for over 20 minutes but the making of the burrito took 10 minutes itself. The staff was inconsiderate and self absorbed in their own conversations. They took their sweet time and were terrible to deal with. This is the place you would get food poisoning at. Avoid at all costs!

This place just«sucks». All comments here are correct. The food was terrible, certain items weren’t available, mind you this was at 7pm. No tea or root beer. And the employees are the most miserable human beings I have ever seen.

I completely agree with the other reviewers that this is the worst Chipotle I have ever been to. The employees are MISERABLE. I don’t think I’ve ever been here and had a pleasant interaction with an employee. Everyone is rude and they give you tiny portions. Two of the few times I have been there an employee was having a verbal altercation with a customer. I live within walking distance of the Pentagon City mall, but I drive to the Chipotle in Crystal City just to avoid going to this one.

This is the worst Chipotle I’ve ever been to. When ordering and they hardly had anything starting off they only had one type of beans. Next the meat selection was limited most of everything was running out. And keep in mind this was dinner time around 5 o’clock. The lines were long as can be. The employees seemed to not even care about their jobs. They were working as slow as can be. Finally after making it through the line I order a small soda. They lady says we only have one size. really lady? then why does it have two sizes on your menu? Finally I asked for coke she says we are out of coke and almost every soda. The damn employees are to damn lazy to change the sodas out or something. And by the way people were returning with their sodas that they purchased complaining they didn’t taste right. Finally after sitting down and taking a bite of my burrito it hardly even tastes like a burrito. This location is a disgrace to Chipotle. I would shut it down or replace the management.

No exaggeration this is the worst Chipotle I have ever been to. It is located in Pentagon City Mall between a Taco Bell and Italian Pizza place. They fail in three major areas and succeed in one. The food taste like all Chipotle food. There is the one success. That’s it. For starters the employees move incredibly slow and they do not work as a team or communicate. I live right next to Pentagon City Mall and have been to this Chipotle many times only because it’s one of the healthiest options in the food court. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen the cashier be the rate limiting step moving like a sloth. The worst part about it is the other employees continue to make customers food and before you know it there is a line of burritos and burrito bowls on the counter getting cold while you wait to hand them your money. That takes balls. Secondly, the employees at this Chipotle are very stingy with serving size. There doesn’t seem to be any process set in place for how many spoon servings to give each customer. One customer might get two spoonfuls of chicken and one might get one spoonful of chicken scraps. Going along with this they also frequently run out of product and make you wait while they cook up a new pan of rice or beans. Finally, the worst for last. The customer service and the attitudes of the employees are the worst I have ever seen. I’m embarrassed for their parents and grandparents. They are not friendly in the least and there seems to have been no training at all in how to deal with customers. Go to a Chic-fil-a and then go to this Chipotle and take notice of the difference. At this one, the young man with the square earrings is particularly unfriendly. The general attitude at this place is Why, are you making me do work? I’ll get to you when I get to you. Alright, what do you want? I don’t care if your food gets cold. I need your money now. Alright, now get the f#&k out!

Terrible service. The servers working here have no understanding of basic courtesy. I understand the pressure of working on the food line but to see how these people treat customers is appalling and almost warrants an adult standing over their shoulder to remind them putting food in a tortilla isn’t their only job. And that they are easily replaceable.

I too love Chipotle, but as others have said, this location is just horrible. They were incredibly slow, I asked for no guacamole, and she still puts it into my burrito and then charges me for it. Ugh, this location is absolutely irritating.

This chipotle should be stripped of its name and demoted to one of its mediocre cousins like qdoba. The complete lack of fucks given by the servers results in an unsatisfying assortment of poorly assembled«burritos.» I’d rather have the greasy«Chinese food» down the way. Aka I’d risk food poisoning over the crap served here. Pros: Ample seating. It’s a food court. There are other options literally within arms reach. Cons: 0 fucks given.

The managing staff here are idiots. They have lines out the door at peak hours, and they clearly don’t reward or train their employees well enough to get consistent service. They would make a lot more money and stop turning off potential customers if they bit the bullet and staffed up sufficiently with sufficiently trained staff, and got their lines moving, while improving food delivery and quality.

I don’t know what it is about this Chipotle. Food is standard but SERVICE is hit or miss every time. Suprisingly, I feel it’s better during the busy hours of lunch and dinner. I went this past Sunday and honestly, the guy who greeted me and asked me what I wanted was probably the slowest fast food employee I have ever seen. The guy took his sweet time doing everything. He was running out of vegetables and didn’t tell the grill guy until they were out. No vegetables. It’d be a 10 min wait. Honestly though, this place is fine if the people working there pay attention. I loved the 2nd person(toppings) and 3rd person(cashier) in the line. The first person was just extremely slow.

Well, sad to see that the negative customer service was dead on. I had a craving for some Chipotle and got in line fairly early(10AM?) for some food. There was a guy chopping up cilantro. I waited 30 seconds, and then said«Excuse me» twice. He ignored me/couldn’t hear me. He then turned a bit, made eye contact with me, and went back to chopping. Wow. I watched as 2 other employees popped out from the back, proceeded to grab a paper bowl(??) and fiddle with a machine before returning to the back. When someone finally came to help me she was quite good. There was one other person in line behind me by the time I ordered, and she did a good job in managing our orders. She pushed my order to be filled by the next employee who would either pop out or turn around and help, right? Nope? She had to fill both our orders and prepare 2 more while her co-workers dilly-dallied. As our orders were filled her co-workers would occasionally come out from the back, do something and return to the back. While this wasn’t lunch rush, there was a line of people behind me by the time my order was being made. Mr. Cilantro Chopper finally took on the next two people while the original employee who helped me out finally rang up my order and the order of the following person. The door to the back was open, and from my POV at the register, there were several employees in the back. I am amazed that not ONE could come and help their co-worker or at least prompt Cilantro Chopper to do so. Food is standard Chipotle. I couldn’t say anything about the temperature because I ran errands afterwards, but it was nicely packed and the woman who DID help me did a good job in sealing it up(my salad ended up moving around a bit but no leaking despite being full). It might be a healthier option than the other places, but the shoddy customer service is quite disappointing. I’ll be writing to Chipotle’s customer service about this(and even snagged a business card from the register) because the number of negative comments about this location’s customer service over time is disappointing.

I waited in line until I was able to approach the counter. If I had not waited in line for 10 minutes, I would have left due to the«service» I received. The person who took my order was so rude. She rolled her eyes and spoke to me in a nasty tone, as if she didn’t want to be there. Well honey, I would have loved for you not to have been there. You and your team members lack customer service skills and respect. If you had a name tag on, you would have been the first person I would have ever reported for being a jerk to your manager. I work retail myself, so I know how certain customer service things go. Don’t take your bad day out on the customer and PLEASE show some respect! If not to be a good representative of the company, then because you are talking to a fellow human being. You work at Chipotle, humble yourself and do your job.

I love chipotle ! But this time had to hate it, very slow staff very comfortable while working, I had to wait about 15 min to get my meal and on top of that the rice was not cooked. When I wanted to pay I had to wait for a while… a lady with red hair asked her that I wanted to pay and leave, she looked at me and said to her coworker she’s in rush she wants to pay!!! Well NO I’ve been waiting for a damn 5min just to pay and none of U bother to come to the register to get paid from me while it was not even busy. Very mediocre service !

Yes this is a mall Chipotle. If you read this please read the Taco Bell review in this mall. Yes this review will be also the same. I gone to this mall and what to have a really lunch. But I stop a Taco Bell for a quick bit with a Taco Supreme and it was kicking. After going to the Apple store and when back down for a really lunch. I got in line for a Burrito Bowl with cilantro-lime rice, pinto bean braised carnitas, guacamole and cheese and sour cream. I alway start from the side and work across. I was stump that the meat was cold. rice was cold. Even I try some of the Taco Bell mild salsa on time. No I just dodn’t liked it. And will I gone to Taco Bell instead. So If I was in this mall one step away from the bottom of the latter then Ballston Common. I wood to to Taco Bells instead. Thank you for reading my review and check the Taco Bell review in the same mall. :)

I agree with the below commentators that this Chipotle is just not up to snuff. While this is a rather popular location, the lines at Chipotle always move fast — at least, they’re supposed to. Here, they took forever. The workers here literally messed up or forgot most of the orders. It’s kind of annoying when simple instructions like what kind of rice or yes/no to cheese is not followed. Just it’s just lazy workers, and it’s always hit or miss. Also, I feel that there were some cleanliness issues with this location, because there was, for whatever reason, sour cream everywhere. Even after they cleaned the area, it was rather dirty. And the same time, this is not a normal Chipotle, it’s in a mall food court. They probably unwillingly have to waste a lot of paper bags since that’s the only way they serve the food, as they can’t give out trays in the food court. The basic ingredients are all the same, this is just not a great location.

I visited for lunch the other day and the service was one of the most bizarre Kafka like experiences I’ve experienced eating lunch anywhere. I stood there alone for 2 – 3 minutes before being acknowledged. I ordered my burrito bowl and then after it was completed and wrapped and as I was about to pay I was told«just a minute» and had to wait as 2 other customers who arrived after I did had their orders made(one customer ordered 2 items). I waited nearly 5 mins and was about to simply walk away before I finally was able to pay for my order and leave. I’m not sure if this is store policy at this location but frankly made no sense to me. In fairness, I emailed Chipotle to express my concern and they acted upset about it/are sending me a free burrito coupon. Based on the other reviews of this location, I find it hard to believe I’m the first to complain or that they aren’t already aware of this issues.
