The truck that brings you that end of Goodfellas experience. Remember the end of Goodfellas after Ray Liotta went into witness protection(somewhere not cold because he was legitimately bronchial and it would make him a better witness, a happier witness) and he talks about ordering spaghetti marinara? He got egg noodles and ketchup. Like nobody. Like a schnook. That glamorous Hollywood experience can be yours at Capital Kabob! Or, more recently, Naan Stop! They changed their name, just like Ray Liotta at the end of Goodfellas. I ordered paneer with sauce advertised as medium spicy. The paneer didn’t taste like much, but that’s because it was paneer. The problem is that the sauce did nothing. It was like a can of Prego poured over everything. It was the Indian equivalent of egg noodles and ketchup, and it made me feel like nobody. Like a schnook. Lunch also included a lukewarm puddle of chick peas in yellow stuff, which tasted like nothing, and a salad. Not even the finest pile of lettuce with a tomato slice could make up for the rest of this crud, and this pile didn’t try very hard. I didn’t undergo this experience alone, and I have two witnesses who will back up everything I’m saying. One of my lunch companions made the mistake of ordering samosas, and I’ve never seen him so angry. Remember when Paul Sorvino found out Ray Liotta was selling drugs? That’s pretty much what this guy sounded like when he was describing the samosas.

Kinda bummed. Grabbed lunch at this truck today while it was in Tyson’s. It may be because it was late in the lunch hour, and because I got the last of their lamb(sorry to the dude that was behind me), but I was underwhelmed. My lamb was dry, overcooked, and somewhat tough. The flavor, however was good, and I really enjoyed the chickpeas that came with it, so I’m willing to chalk it up to a bad day/time and will probably try them again when I’m at our Tyson’s office.

Delicious! I had the daily special, which was butter chicken. They used the chicken tikka to make it, so it had a great, smoky flavor. A small salad of dark greens came with it, along with flavorful, slightly spicy chickpeas. I don’t think they offer kati rolls anymore, which is too bad, because I wanted to try one. But I definitely enjoyed my lunch and am glad I tried this truck.
