Excellent service and just really nice people. These guys pushed my broken car across the street for me out of the predatory towing lot (Advanced Towing gets negative 5 stars) so I didn’t have to give them any more of my money. Omar worked on my car and was very communicative, helpful and did quality work.

I hit a concrete barrier in a movie theatre parking lot on a Sunday evening and did a lot of damage to my front end body and mechanical parts. C&G was the only shop in the area open on Sunday and the shop owner stayed late until I could have my car transported and stored safely within their gated lot. He then provided me a haggle free cosmetic and mechanical consultation and repair experience and in less than a week my car was restored to pristine condition. I couldn’t have been happier with the service, affordable pricing and overall service integrity. Based on this experience, in comparison to my experiences with other shops in the area, this will be my repair shop of choice in the future, and I would recommend this shop to all of my friends or coworkers.

C&G Specialty Auto Body did excellent work on my car. My car was returned to me in a timely matter and looked perfect. The employees were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied. I would definitely recommend this repair shop to anyone in the area.

I had some body work done on my 2015 Jeep Cherokee a couple of weeks ago. The service was accomplished in an excellent manner and delivered at the time that it was scheduled to be delivered. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. For a body shop, the waiting room & bathroom were extremely clean. I recommend this body shop to anyone in the DC Metro.

I highly recommend C & G Specialty Auto Body (formerly Specialty Auto Body, acquired recently). Quality workmanship and fair pricing. My Nissan Maxima failed the Virginia State Inspection several days ago because «Sub frame rusty and damaged». I was told by the inspector that this was going to cost a lot of money. I took my car to C & G and it cost much, much less than I expected. They cut out the Sub frame and welded the new dealer part. My car just passed inspection and the inspector asked me where I had the work done. I told him and he said that they did a great job and he was surprised at the actual cost… much lower than he would have expected. Thank you C & G Specialty Auto Body for the great work and your friendly staff.

I had a cosmetic repair needed on my car because of a roof stain caused by a garage ceiling leak and a few scratches on the rear bumper in addition to the side panel above the driver side tire.
I needed a quote to provide the insurance company since the apartment complex was taking care of this. A quote was provided quickly, and the service to repair was handled within the same week.
The completion was fantastic, pricing was very fair and reasonable, in addition to great customer service.

I hit a concrete column in a parking garage and dented my front-​left fender. I got an estimate from a few different auto body shops in the area. The staff at C & G Specialty Auto were the most friendly and helpful. Their prices were reasonable. They did an excellent job replacing my fender.

Don’t go here. They charged CC without having car there and without performing work!!! Difficult to deal with and unethical company.

A word to the wise – if you own a Foreign car do not take it to this shop. We brought our vehicle here and they estimated that it could be fixed for a price substantially lower than what the car was worth so that it would purposefully not get totaled and so they could make a hefty profit off of it.
It has taken three months for the car to get fixed. Three months of them calling every week to say «it will be done next week we swear,» and three months of them sending it to the foreign dealership to fix because they could not do it themselves. At the end of the day, we ended up taking it to the foreign dealership ourselves for them to fix when we realized that Specialty Auto Body had firmly placed themselves in the position of «middle man» to make a quick buck.
They cannot fix foreign cars so don’t even bother. In fact, they ended up breaking part of our vehicle during their sorry attempt to try to contribute to the fixing process. This place is running a scam. Buyer beware.

These guys are scam artists and bullies. They destroyed components on my car. Rather than allow them to do the repairs I had the vehicle towed to the dealership as it was still under warranty. Unfortunately due to «abuse» that would be gray as to prove who the culprit was the damage was not covered by my warranty. The repair bill was triple what I owed them for body work. I spoke with them and said I’d be willing to cut my losses, but instead they harassed me regularly from multiple phone numbers demanding I pay the remainder of my bill. They would often threaten to «get the lawyers involved» despite the fact that lawyers are not allowed in small claims and the dollar amount in dispute would be a small claims case. It’s an incredibly unethical attempt to bully those who do not know the law well enough to know look out for their individual rights. I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere as the vehicle came out worse than when it arrived, and resulted in many, many months of harassment and denial.

I don’t even know where to begin… My car was broken into while I was on vacation, they broke the window, and scratched the passenger side of my car. After talking to my boyfriend we both decided to take our cars to Specialty Auto, since he also needed to get some minor scratches in the bumper and side panel of this car.
Our first clue should of been that they were not very good at communicating with us the entire week. I had to keep calling them to see when the cars where going to be ready. When we went to pick up the cars we noticed that my boyfriends car had large straches on the other side of his car that were not there before. Thank god we took pictures when we dropped off the car with the guy that was helping us. After reviewing them they agreed to repair the new scratches. As for my car the window was fixed however the paint job was AWFUL. The paint looked ripely and not smooth like the rest of my car. As soon as I picked it up I noticed that my window was not working properly so i took the car back and they told me that the motor was not working and that it needed to be replaced. Now don’t you think that when they replaced the window they would of check on that??? Two weeks later we both had our cars back, we had to take time off work and had to keep on top of them to get the repairs done. I’m still not happy with the way the paint looks in my car, everytime I walk up to it I just cringe and I try not to look at it anymore. I don’t have the time or energy to argue with them anymore.
I do not recommend this place to anyone. I hope this helps someone else from making the same mistake we did.

I feel so bad for anyone who takes their car here. It’s a total nightmaire. They really take advantage. Alex was the only nice one working there. Now that he is gone, if you take your car, beware that they will take the car, use it for parts and give it back to you in worse condition than when you took it in.
One of the many things that were a problem, they charged close to 400 for rear breaks and they kept the plastic between the break and gas peddles that protects the driver from the wires.
When I asked them about it, they hung up on me.
There were a series of nightmares from the month my car was there being repaired from a minor front end collision. They wanted me to take my car with the minor repairs wildly on crooked and wrong. In addition, the inside of my car had parts replaced with older non working parts.
When I asked about that, they said that it was my fault. Just avoid the place. You’ll save yourself a great part of your life!

After someone plowed into the front fender of my car, I was able to take my pick from their insurance co. of what auto-​body shop I wanted to look at my car. I chose Specialty Auto-​Body after reading some online reviews, and was not only not disappointed, but thrilled at the level of service I received.
The owner/​manager, Steve, was incredibly helpful in explaining to me the process of what the other person’s insurance covered, the step by step process of what needed to take place, and went into a level of depth about the shape my car was in that in my experience, other auto body shops have not done in the past. Steve REALLY took his time answering all my questions, and gave me a level of personal service and attention I am not used to receiving from car shops. Aside from his obvious knowledge of cars, and offering me various options for how to spruce my car up, he also has a great sense of humor, which is always a plus for me.
The rest of the staff was very friendly as well, and went out of their way to make conversation with me when I was there waiting. Even the receptionist and front desk staff were extremely hospitable and friendly. Customer service at Specialty Auto = A+.
Most importantly, they did an excellent job fixing my car up. Everything was good as new by the time they were done, and best of all, Steve kept me in constant contact by sending me emails updating me of their progress on the car each day of the week. I was absolutely thrilled at how much respect I was treated with at this place, and they fixed my car up beautifully. Highly recommended.

My wife scouted this place out. When we’ve had other more major collision repair issues we’ve used Craftsman in Falls Church and were please with the results. We had a couple fairly minor dents we wanted taken out of my car and this place was supposed to specialize in that. Their work was very good and it was finished on-​time. My only complaint was that I probably paid too much: $ 450 for the two repairs. It’s probably my fault — I should’ve negotiated.

Some jerk failed to yield at a stop sign and drove out right in front of me on Wilson Blvd in Clarendon. My Saab needed to have its entire front bumper and the splash guards under the engine replaced.
Steve at Specailty did a great job explaining to me exactly how the repair would work and coordinated everything perfectly with nearby Enterprise rental cars, which minimized the amount of time I had to spend out of work.
I ended up not paying a dime for the repair, since the accident was the other person’s fault entirely, and only had to miss about four hours of work total.
I recommend these guys if you need some collision repair. I was in and out of the shop in about five minutes each time.

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience than this. I chose this place because it was recommended by both my insurance company and the insurance company of the girl who hit me – and although it wasn’t the closest recommended place, it was the only one near a metro station, which was important because I didn’t want to have to rent a car.
Specialty has stellar customer service and phone rapport, and was delightful to work with from the beginning. They called when they said they’d call, and they finished the work when they said they’d finish (on the early end of their estimated completion date range… I even called two days before it was supposed to be done and asked them to tack on an oil change, and it was still ready on time).
The car looked gorgeous when they were done — dent and scratches gone, paint perfect, inside of the car spotless (vacuumed floors, crystal clear windows, shiny dust-​free dash).
I can’t speak to their prices, as the other girl’s insurance company paid for the repairs, although the oil change was $ 29.99 which I thought was incredibly reasonable. I just wish they weren’t so far!

Melissa, sorry your experience was so bad. I have nothing but good to say about them. I’d give them 5 stars, but the low overhead means that I don’t get any benes like free coffee, or a clean floor. They were also slow in returning my calls. However, everything else was great.
I had a bumper fixed on my BMW M3 at another shop in South Carolina, and it was still a bit crooked but I didn’t notice until my wife and I moved up here. We called the insurance company, and they mentioned Specialty. Because they were one of the only ones that USAA would go with, I asked my normal mechanic at J&F Motors who he would go to, and he recommended Specialty.
I dropped off my car on a Monday morning, and it was done 2 days later, when they said it would be finished. They paperwork was in order, the car was spotless, the guy I worked with had answers to all my questions, the mileage was the same it was before, and the only change was that the radio was turned down.
Overall, it was a low stress, complete, satisfying experience. I would take my car to them again.

This place really needs to get their act together.
I took my car to Ballston Specialty Auto Body to fix some scratches on my SUV what were sustained when my car was broken into. I thought it would be an easy fix. Another place called Safelite had already replaced my broken window, so all Ballston Specialty needed to do was repaint the door where the scratches were. I was filing a claim with my insurance company, and they recommended Specialty Auto Body.
When I arrived at Specialty, they had misplaced the paperwork that my insurance company had sent to them, delaying their ability to begin work on my car. When they began work after my insurance re-​sent the paperwork, I asked them to fax me a copy of the estimate, not once, not twice, but three times. They never did. However, I was assured that my vehicle would be done «in a day or two.» That was on Monday. By Wednesday, their new estimated completion time was «Thursday or Friday.»
When I arrived to pick up my car, the experience was a total disaster. According to the receptionist, my file was marked as payment due. When I told her that it was an insurance claim, and that my insurance told Specialty that I had already paid my deductible to the company that fixed my window, she said that they had no record that it was an insurance claim, and couldn’t release my car because I was refusing to pay.
After she verified with my insurance company (again) that it was an insurance claim, she handed me insurance paperwork to complete that I had already done when I dropped off the car. I wouldn’t fill it out, because I couldn’t help but think they had some sort of fraud thing going on where they were going to submit my claim twice.
Wouldn’t you know it when they take me to my car to show me the repairs, it WASN’T my vehicle. It was another of the same make and model. So that’s why none of the insurance paperwork was in the file. Funny how the receptionist never thought to match my NAME to the file she was looking at, and only the make/​model of the vehicle.
After all that was taken care of, I left. There was two fewer gallons of gas in my car than when I dropped it off, according to the digital gauge, although the mileage hadn’t changed. They must have let my car sit idle for hours to burn two gallons of gasoline. In this day of $ 4.15 gas, they should be more respectful. There’s no reason my car should have been left idle to repaint a door.
My radio station was changed, which I can understand, but they actually changed all my preset buttons on my radio! What kind of auto repair place messes with a customer’s PRESETS?
So, let’s sum this up. They take forever, they mess up paperwork, they burn gas for no reason, and they mess with your personal settings in your vehicle. Although I have no complaints with the quality of work on my vehicle, I’ll never take my car here again, and recommend that you don’t either.
