Update! I picked up the airplane from Bosch Aviation and gave them the $ 1400 that they demanded. I asked them to show me the«crack» in my engine case and they did. I couldn’t see anything that looked like a crack and I certainly didn’t see any oil. So I hired another IA(inspection rated mechanic) to check their diagnosis. He did a dye penetrant test of the area, took pictures, and kept a careful log to ensure that everything was done properly. He also checked the area with a magnifying glass. Guess what, there is no crack! Note to reader — this man is not some young kid fresh out of school — he is a lifetime aircraft mechanic that has MANY years of experience. It can only be assumed that Bosch Aviation tried the olé«woman taking her car to a mechanic for an oil change and getting an engine overhaul» trick. They thought they were going to score a $ 15,000 payday on this one. Guess again. you ripped me off for $ 1400 and threw your integrity in the trash. Bummer for you.
