I have been using Arlington Dog Nanny for a year and a half after switching from another dog walking service in the area with constant turnover. I could not be more pleased with Arlington Dog Nanny! We absolutely love our dog walker, Danielle and would highly recommend them to family and friends.

I would highly recommend Arlington Dog Nanny to anyone who needs their furball looked after by responsible and very caring people. I have been using them for a couple of years and I think my dog might even prefer his walker Menawar to me! You can really tell she cares about him and leaves me suggestions on things I might leave for her to give him (such as a frozen kong). She always leaves such sweet notes telling me how her visit went. In addition to the easy to use online reservation system, sometimes I have had last minute situations come up and they are always very quick to respond to my emails! They are reasonably priced and I never worry knowing they are going to take good care of my baby!

For the past two years, I used Arlington Dog Nanny for daily walks for my Boston Terrier. Desiree and her team are the absolute best. My dog always looked forward to seeing them – I know this because I was home a few days when they came for her walk and saw her reaction to her walker – and they treated her with such great care and affection. After each walk, my dog’s walker would leave behind a detailed note telling me about the walk and other details (for example, if my dog didn’t seem to be feeling well that day).
But Arlington Dog Nanny did more then just daily walks. When I would go out of town, one of her walkers would take my dog into her home and treat my dog as if she were her own.
Again, Arlington Dog Nanny is the absolute best. I just moved to Texas and am sad to be losing their services. They have my highest recommendation.

I’ve been using Arlington Dog Nanny for the past month or so to walk my dog Scout while my fiancé and I are at work during the day. They do a great job, Scout loves her walker, they leave daily update notes which is super helpful, and the price is reasonable. Today they went above and beyond their call of duty, though, and that’s why I’m writing a 5 star review.
Today was supposed to be a quick, one-​day business trip to Detroit. Hop on a 6am flight, client meeting, back at home by dinner time. Easy right? I thought so, too. Since my fiancé was also on business travel, I scheduled an extra walk for Scout in the morning since I knew I’d be gone early (which was very easily scheduled online), planned her normal midday walk, and thought I’d be back in time for our usual evening routine. Boy, was I wrong. Who knew there would be crazy thunderstorms and tornado warnings that would cause my flight to be delayed again and again? Thankfully, Arlington Pet Nanny is super responsive and I was able to schedule a last minute evening walk and have someone feed Scout in my absence. After the flight delays continued and it was looking really unlikely I would get home, I panicked — who would take Scout out before bedtime? Who would walk and feed her early in the morning? Arlington Pet Nanny to the rescue. They didn’t just check on Scout — they picked her up so she wouldn’t be alone for the night. I couldn’t be more grateful to have such great dog walkers on call when I’m in a bind. They obviously love our puppy as if she was their own and I’m so glad we were referred to their service.

We’ve used Arlington Dog Nanny to walk our cockapoo, Charlie, for almost a year now. They have been great to work with! I often heard from our building’s front desk staff how clear it was that Charlie’s walker loved him, and she was great about leaving notes behind so I knew what Charlie had been up to.
The online scheduling tool is great and easy to use, and the prices are very competitive in the area.
I would definitely recommend Arlington Dog Nanny to anyone looking for a dog walker in the area!

We’ve found Arlington Dog Nanny to be a tremendous asset and a team we’re so happy to have found. Our pup started to recognize his walker’s car lock chirp and would excitedly pace to see if she was coming to the door. The notes left are invaluable to understand what happened on their walk or visit to the dog park. More often than not, our walker keeps our pup out longer than the allocated time because they have such a strong rapport. That’s saying something because he’s a bit of a puller and can be challenging for untrained walkers.
This team is also very strong with issue resolution. We’ve had a couple instances of our payment method not being successful (an error on our part in the system one time and other, we simply forgot to leave cash — eeek!). When we circled-​back with their team, Desiree was more than understanding and accommodating. We did have one instance of a walker who dropped a key and identified it as missing. When we found out about this, we were upset but understood that these things happened. Arlington Dog Nanny immediately took steps to remedy the situation and as it turned out, the key was quickly found.
We would very much recommend ADN to anyone in the area.

Finding the right people for an affordable price was a tad difficult in Arlington. Several businesses make it harder than applying for a job or a mortgage! However, Arlington Dog Nanny was a pleasant experience from the beginning. The application process was simple. The meet-​and-​greet was fun and Desiree even provided much needed advice. The service provided was superb! The walkers provide their own writing pad for notes. The website is easy to navigate and making appointments is fairly easy. The only «issue» I had was if I needed to book a service on short notice (less than 24 hours) and couldn’t book via the site… however, all I had to do was email Desiree and the appointments would be booked! I highly recommend Arlington Dog Nanny and if I hadn’t moved away I would still employ their services.

I’ve been using Arlington Dog Nanny for 1.5 years and I could not have asked for a better experience! We are moving and our dog Parker is really going to miss all the fun, attention and care he receives from Desiree and her team. I hope we are able to find a new dog walking service that is half as good as Arlington Dog Nanny. Whether you use them for regular walks or emergency situations, you can always count on them. They are simply the best!

We’ve been extremely happy with our service. Danielle, our walker, has been a God-​send for our dog. He is VERY shy but he took to her immediately. We also found the owner to be pleasant and personally interested in our pet.
The cancellation policies could be more flexible, but this is a very fair trade off for such an inexpensive walk (½ what other companies charge in Arlington!)

Our experience with Arlington Dog Nanny was disappointing and we would recommend that Unilocalers look elsewhere.
Our agreement was one 15 minute walk per weekday. Here are the issues we dealt with:
(1) Walks shorter than 15 minutes.
The one day we happened to stay home, the walker took our dog out for about 5 minutes and brought him back saying «he is not in the mood.» Obviously, even if he is not in the mood, she should have made an effort to entertain him for the full 15 minutes that she was paid for.
This highlights another issue that we noticed that same day when we had to be at home. Instead of coming at the prearranged time of 1−3pm, the dog walker came closer to 11am, which she said was more convenient for her (given that she had to walk 12 dogs that same day). If we had not been at home, this would have meant that our dog would have been crated from 11am to 7pm.
(2) The dog walker left our door unlocked.
Dog Nanny’s owner insisted that we provide her with two copies of our apartment keys. We felt uncomfortable with this and decide to leave the keys with our building’s concierge. We know this is normal practice and did not seem unreasonable to us, given that we had just met the owner, had never met the walker and live in a busy urban area. This is apparently a big inconvenience to her, while every other dog walking company seems fine picking up keys from the concierge.
Also, the fact that we came home one day and found our door unlocked underscores why we did not trust the dog walker with our keys to begin with.
(3) Timing
We also noticed issues of responsiveness. The first time that we had to make a change due to an emergency situation with our dog, the owner failed to respond to our message for several hours. We found this to be highly unprofessional, especially given the fact that she will not share the dog walker’s contact information with her clients. This forces the clients to always contact and communicate through the owner, which is highly problematic if the clients can’t expect her to properly monitor her email.
(4) Our experience is very similar to Sarah D.‘s review from 2÷8÷2011. We did not find the owner to be flexible and the overall tenor of her communications with us has consistently been defensive and somewhat unpleasant. To top it all off, we received a message at 7pm on a Friday night that she had decided to cancel all of her contracts in our building because the parking situation was too complicated (unheard of in Arlington, because our building did not offer free parking). As a side note, there are 5 parking garages in our block as well as street parking, a subway station and a bus stop. Frankly, it seems that unless you live across the street from a free lot, this is going to be an issue for you if you use Arlington Dog Nanny.
Overall, the sense that we get is that the service is using low prices as an excuse to offer sub par service. We’ve spent way too much time dealing with Desiree and we’ve only had the service for about two months. Given that their only job is to ensure that a 6 lb. dog uses the bathroom once a day, we felt like the email traffic was just too heavy…
Long story short, it is probably worth paying a few extra bucks to another company and not having to deal with all of the above.

Love them! I have two energetic Labs, and the nannies are great with them!

The owner knows her (ruff) stuff. She loves dogs, as do many in this business, but her fierce love is buttressed by knowledge and experience. She’s a dog trainer as well and as good as she is with the four-​legged clients, she and her staff are equally devoted to their human ones. They are respectful of your home, your time and your concerns. I’ve sent many other dog owners their way. You should follow that lead!

For me, Arlington Dog Nanny has changed my life. I now can just input my request online for additional walks when I have to work late. My Morkie just loves his walker. They have picked him up from boarding place and got him settled at home when I arrived late on a plane and the boarding would have required him to stay another night. They have walked him over at my mom’s house and mom says they come in talking to the dog like he’s a human. He’s my baby with fur. The notes they leave are detailed and not like my sister’s walker who states «he peed alot.» Thye have identified several possible illnesses at the onset stage. I cannot say enough.
At first when during the evaluation, the owner stated my pup was a little overweight, I was taken back. But she gave me vital tips on knocking a few kibbles off, recommended a higher quality dog food and she always goes the extra mile to accommodate me. She was right and I now have a healtheir puppy. Although you pay ahead for the month, the prices are great, and the nanny service is spectacular. My dog Samson is so happy and he gets tummy rubs and wonderful walks which he loves.

Arlington Dog Nanny is a great service for walking and caring for your dog. On more than one occasion Desiree and her team have come to our rescue when we have had to suddenly head out of town and can’t take our dog with us. Our dog Link loves Desiree, Emilia and Vanessa –he practically leaps into their arms when he sees them. I am always very confident leaving him in their care.

I have been using Arlington Dog Nanny for about 4 months now, and I only have good things to say about it. They genuinely care about your pet, and they really show it.
Our puppy was sick one day, and they called me right away to let me know that there was a problem. They even offered to drive her to the vet!
My favorite thing about them is that they are so flexible. Our schedules change by the second, and they are always able to accomidate us. Desiree will help you whenever you need it.
One added bonus is the note that they leave everyday describing what they did with your animal that day, as bad as it sounds, I look forward to reading that note everyday!!.

Our previous dog walker was always sending a different walker into our house (random guys we had never met — scared the crap out of me one day when some strange man just walked right in!), they forgot to walk our dog at least twice, and in general just didn’t care about anything except getting their check in the mail.
We eventually decided to switch to Arlington Dog Nanny after finding them online and could not be happier! These people truly care about the well-​being of your dog. The walker that Desiree (owner) scheduled for our pooch is a certified professional dog trainer and really knows her stuff. Our dog is a rescue and has… issues… our dog walker (the same one every day) decided to start walking our dog with another dog to calm her down and they get along great. I’m so happy knowing that my dog basically has a play date everyday! We’ve also been home a couple times when the dog walker has come and our dog LOVES her.
I highly recommend Arlington Dog Nanny — I’m so glad we found them!

I have been a client for over three years. I have never once thought; hmm I should look for another dog walker. Desiree the owner, is very quick to answer questions and her staff has always been reliable. We have a English Bull terrier which is very strong, wasn’t trained in English & runs every time there is a squirrel that made us nervous for the walker. Not only have we never had an issue but get praises on her behaviour! From the doggy talk & kisses from the walker, I can say our dog is loved & is in good hands.

I recently moved to Arlington from Philadelphia and needed to find someone to walk my precious Puggle, Riley. I’ve used a dog walking service in the past so I had an «idea» of what to look for. Arlington Dog Nanny didn’t have any reviews posted but after reviewing the website and the websites of several other, reviewed, dog care services I picked ADN.
The employees are trained in dog obedience so you know that you’re pup is not only being walked but is also with someone who KNOWS animals — which many dog walking services only have people that love animals, which is in NO WAY a bad thing but it’s comforting for me to know that Riley is in good hands. You can also select what type of service you want for your dog, they offer the normal «walk» but also offer running, hiking, play time, etc. which is not the norm and is pretty great, especially if you have a high energy pup. And, unlike some other pet walking operations I looked at, you can cancel (with advance notice, obviously) and not lose the money for that day’s walk. That I really like. Oh — and if you have a dog, like mine, who isn’t good in the heat, they watch for that and will make sure to not overheat you’re dog simply for the sake of the walk. Bonus points for that. I surely don’t want to come home to a dog with heat stroke.
The owner, Desiree, is very hands on. She was the one to come for the interview and even worked with me to start service before I actually was able to interview with her. When I met with her she inundated me with dog information that I desperately needed — dog parks, pet stores, dog friendly restaurants & shops and emergency vets. She even recommended a vet for me (and even told me which doctor I should see if I needed a little eye candy!). She sends out informative emails to her clients (occasionally — no inundation) which I love because it shows how invested she is in the welfare of your pet, which, as we all know, are members of our families. And *bonus* she provides a cute little tablet (AND A PEN) for the walker to use to leave notes. (LOVE!!!)
Finally, two experiences gave ADN a permanent place in my heart — 1) the day of my interview I had only been in VA for a week and I was experiencing the aftermath of two very, very sad losses (i.e. I was in hysterics) and Desiree was so wonderful and kind to me I just knew that if she could open her heart to a complete stranger that she would only give the best to my little man; and 2) when I met Riley’s dog walker (I was home one day and didn’t cancel the walk) I saw how much Riley loved him and that was enough for me… love my dog and I’ll love you.
Arlington Dog Nanny is the bee’s knees and I would recommend them to anyone.
