Business Owner

Dr. Marty Matus is the chief optometrist and owner of Martin Optical Eyecare. He was born and raised in Mt. Prospect, Illinois where he attended St. Viator High School, and graduated from Loyola University in Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Biology and Chemistry. Following in his father’s footsteps, he attended the Illinois College of Optometry and graduated with a doctorate of optometry in 1989.



After graduating, Dr. Matus focused his career on medical optometry and practiced in a multi-​disciplinary ophthalmology and retina clinic. While practicing in this setting, Dr. Matus began formulating his dream of building a practice that met patient’s needs both optically and medically. Martin Optical Eyecare was established in 1990 with the purpose of providing premium patient eye care through practicing full medical scope optometry and providing state-​of-​the-​art contact lenses and glasses.
