Located in Historic Downtown Arkadelphia with an island feel and menu designed to get you in vacation mode. From Steaks to Shrimp, Scallops, Ahi Tuna, Oysters, and Chicken to sandwiches including our 100% Angus Beef Hamburgers, we are sure to have something for everyone. Great food and service not to mention the coldest beer in town!

History

Established in 2012.

Arkadelphia has been our home for many years, and Slim and Shorty’s has been our dream for about as long. Some of our happiest memories took place on a beach, so our desire was to bring the beach to our hometown and treat visitors to a few minutes of island-​time.

In 2012 we opened «Slim & Shorty’s» we have always loved the beach and with a Sand– Sea– Surf aspect in mind we put the concept under a roof in Historic Downtown Arkadelphia, Arkansas. We want our guest to feel as if they are on vacation while eating a meal. We have a vast array of food options on our menu. We are always exploring more items to add as well. We promote Food-​Drink-​Fun as our motto. We would love to See You Soon and our next goal is to open many more locations. So we might be in your neck of the woods! ALoHa

Good food and fun outdoor patio area! Enjoyed a beer and grilled tilapia while husband had a steak. Baked potatoes were good and veggies were average. Great alternative to chain restaurants on I30. Only took a couple minutes to get there from the interstate and we enjoyed seeing the little college town.

Super fun atmosphere. Love going here for trivia night on Tuesdays. Highly recommend the seared scallops. Best I’ve ever had!

Looked this restaurant on Unilocal and was not disappointed. Had a small problem with an incorrect order, but a after waiting a few extra minutes, the scallops were worth the wait for me. Perfectly done and grilled asparagus was just right. Hubby had the Philly cheese steak and it was also very good. Definitely would go back when passing back thru.

The staff was perfectly nice, the service was fast and flawless and food was spot on. The night I visited they even had a live band that was decent.
I’m not in this part of the world often, but I would definitely go here again!

This isn’t the type of place you expect to find great food but it was amazing. Shrimp scampi was the best I’ve ever had. My husband loved the taste of the grilled talapia. Decided to try the Funky Monkey for desert and was not disappointed. Deep fried banana sprinkled with powdered sugar and drizzled with chocolate syrup. AMAZING

Wonderful food and service that will bot disappointment. Fun motif from from west coast surf side! Catfish was some of the best I’ve had. Salads and grilled tilapia were very well executed! Friendly staff and first bar in the county.

Awesome service, super cool spot! They have a treasure chest for the kiddos to choose a toy from & a little stage that they can dance on! We had the pleasure of meeting the owners, who personally made sure everyone in the restaurant was perfectly happy & right at home! Highly recommend!

Took a detour off the interstate and a little chance on this spot. The reviews were good and it looks a little out of the norm for a town named Arkadelphia (cool ass name imo).
The kids grilled cheese came on a hoagie bun. Don’t suggest that.
The shrimp poboy was good. Nothing spectacular.
The chicken strips were really good.
French fries normal.
Everything we ordered came out freshly cooked which is obviously a huge plus. The staff was very friendly and the ambience is kinda surfer chill whatever dude. I’m giving it 4 stars mostly for those reasons.

The waitress was really nice but we waited forever for our food. Not sure why since the place was empty. The beer was ice cold but the burger tasted like one of those frozen patties they just heated up in the microwave. The fried pickles were good but a tad salty. Overall nice waitress, cold beer, long wait, and mediocre food. I’d probably go here again for happy hour but not spectacular food.

This was our second visit, on our way to Hot Springs, and it was every bit as good as the first time around. My hubby and friend were so happy with the grilled chicken with jerk seasoning that they had last Oct. that they ordered it again — for all these months they’ve been looking forward to tasting the great «island dipping sauce» once more! I went with chicken as well, with grilled zucchini and squash, and half a baked potato, and it was all delicious. These Texans are fans for sure!

Tried Slim & Shorty’s out after reading the other reviews and we were not disappointed!
We ordered fried cheese sticks and fried pickles to start. While both were tasty, the fried pickles really stood out! I tried a suggested hard cider by the server and it was perfect with the fried foods. Our mains consisted of a Philly cheesesteak with added bacon and asparagus, and the chicken fillets (tenders) with fries. The fries were crispy on the outside and cooked perfectly on the inside. The chicken was juicy and tender. The cheesesteak was sensational.
The staff was friendly and attentive.
I would definitely recommend Slim & Shorty’s, and already have. A return visit is a must!

Had a blast here! We stopped in for a late dinner on the way to watch The Ohio State University play for the National Championship in Dallas, TX. After driving all day, we really needed to be able to sit down and enjoy a good meal. The décor was very cute with the surf/​beach theme, but certainly well done. The food was tastey and we all left with full stomachs to keep us going the last leg of the journey to Dallas. The service was EXCELLENT! The one and only Slim was there and gave us some trusty cozy drink holders for us to use during the tailgate the next day. Our only complaint was that one of our party ended up with food poisoning after eating the shrimp po boy and he was out of commission the next day.

Warm, friendly establishment with fresh and flavorful lunch. We had an entrée salad, burgers & catfish. All portions were adequate & not ridiculous. Shrimp in the salad were perfectly cooked. At the advice of the waitress, we tried the Pfunky Monkey & it was good.

I only had a beer and a salad (Slim and Shorty Salad with grilled shrimp). The server was friendly, the staff efficient and the food was good. A couple TVs going with sports on but not obtrusive. Will come back for something less mainstream. Definitely recommend for a casual meal!

I graduated from HSU ten years ago, back when it was a dry county (no alcohol.) I am thrilled that there is now alcohol because there can be a nice nightlife. Slim & Shorty’s is a very nice place. The décor is cute. The bathrooms are clean and well-​lit.
I watch what I eat and was able to choose grilled fish and grilled vegetables, all which were great. They serve you a side of deliciously mayonnaise-​y cole slaw. They didn’t have any of the local beers on tap, which was the only disappointment to me, though they did have several things on tap and I think they also offered a good variety of bottled beers.
We went on Saturday and there was live music. The entertainer was good and the music wasn’t too loud. my friends and I were still able to talk and visit and enjoy the music.
I know I will be going back regularly and recommending this to most everyone. Glad they’re there.
