This is one of the many country style buffets you will find across the south. The staff is nice the price isn’t bad. The food was decent. If your looking for some traditional southern meat and 3 place it’s not a bad choice.

Overall, this place was delightful. My family and I opted for the buffet, they had been here before but I had not, for I was only visiting for the holidays. I have to say, for the price this place was great. There was a salad bar with limited options and the buffet had meat loaf, fried chicken, and a nice variety of sides. My only problem with the food is that I found much of it under-seasoned. Yet, all in all, great food for the right price.

Holy cow. Wow. Mildred’s is insanely good. I recommend the buffet – 8 dollars per person for all you can eat with a tea and endless salad bar included. There were about 15 different sides, and three meats(fried chicken, fried catfish, and pulled pork). The salad bar was stocked with surprisingly fresh lettuce. Everything we ate was absolutely wonderful except for perhaps the cornbread – but my family cooks cornbread different than most. The fried green tomatoes were lauded as some of the best my mother had ever had. The rolls seemed to be glazed with honey and were fluffy and delicious and paired well with the fried chicken. The hush puppies were sweet and crunchy. The Mac and cheese was a little soft but very creamy. There were fresh green beans, pintos, collards, and more. The ambiance was adorable, a mix of log cabin and down-home, and the service was quite nice. Go, go, go!

Y’all. Lemme start with the good good. i ate here two days before Thanksgiving – which is my FAVORITE holiday with so many of my favorite foods – and I am STILL thinking about Ms. Mildred’s fried chicken. Succulent. Juicy. Crispy. Seasoned. Scrumptious. My second favorite thing? The service. Immediately greeted with a warmth usually reserved for family. Yes I know we’re in the South and naw I ain’t forgot my Southern roots, but in today’s side-eyeing times it’s a downright pleasantry to be greeted not as a stranger but as a much loved guest in need of good cookin’. Plus, my glass o’ sweet tea was NEVUH depleted. Nary a sip went by without a top-off. And not a top-off a la «let me keep this heffa’s glass full in case she’s one of THOSE» top-off. No. These top-offs are poured with«apart from filling yo’ belly with all of this deliciousness, we don’t want you to have to lift a single finger» love. Third. $ 8 per person. I knew I’d been living up North for too long when I only paid $ 32 for my family of 4 to FILLOURBELLIES, but hursh! Fourth. The buffet: fresh, full and fulla fixin’s! Y’all know I’m greedy so I tried a li’l bit of everything – from fixin’s to main meats to desserts. And bless my soul – that peach cobbler made a girl weak in the knees and instantly grateful for stretchy jeans! Leave room for the cobbler y’all! My mom and sis partook of the salad bar. Notably they’re not stingy with the prep – toppings like green peppers and tomatoes were real slices in biteful chunks. Like you had to cut that salad to eat it. It filled up the bowl with bounty. Y’all fidna have me go to church on here. You ain’t ready. But when you are, and if you ever find yourself near Ardmore, TN(on the way between Huntsville/Athens, AL and Nashville, TN, welp, now you know where to go to get welcomed and fed.

I love catfish and I’ve missed whole fried catfish since moving to north Alabama. We used to go to D’Licious but they closed. Found my new place for catfish. Buffet had a lot of stuff on it that I love but I stuck with whole catfish, shrimp and hushpuppies and was not disappointed. My husband liked the food too. We’ll be back and try ordering from the menu cause we both had the buffet.

I had asked a local where a good place to eat was and they recommended Mildred’s and said it was a great Southern food restaurant. They weren’t kidding, the buffet was incredible with all the Southern dishes that you would expect. If you are close by then do yourself a favor and stop in.

A great Southern buffet with a moderate price. We drive over from Athens on a regular basis and are never dissappointed. When family comes up from Tuscaloosa they always want to go to Mildred’s. Salad bar is excellent with 6 – 8 cold choices, cornbread salad is great. Fried chicken is the best and always hot. Also have choices of 3 – 4 other entrees. Veggies are from grandmothers Sunday kitchen. Choices regularly include: mashed potatoes, green beans(wow) boiled cabbage(the best) fried green tomatoes, pinto beans(the best anywhere), mac and cheese, corn etc. Desserts include banana pudding(like Mom made), soft serve, peach cobbler and great cakes. My wife says the cakes are awesome. Service is exceptional with our gal running to keep the tea flowing, and her great smile is at no extra charge. She makes us feel like she is glag we are there. The checkout lady always has a smile and how you doin? If you want a Southern atmosphere and excellent food you have found the right place, best around by far!

We are from Nashville, traveling back from visit to Huntsville. I opted to take the back roads for our drive on this lovely afternoon. The weather was lovely and I was looking for a place to eat lunch. I didn’t want a chain restaurant, I wanted somewhere that we don’t have in Nashville. I love trying new places. I just entered the Ardmore city limits when I saw the sign for«MILDRED’S»…so I asked my hubby and daughter… want to try this place? It looked so inviting. So lovely outside and the parking lot was busy… so hey, the locals eat here. must be good !!! We were greeted immediately and seated towards the back near the fireplace. The waitress took our drink order… three Southern Sweet Iced tea with lemon… we looked at the menu, asked the friendly waitress about the specials.“prime rib, oysters, rib eye” all sounded great but the Buffet was only $ 8 for all you can eat and it looked awesome. so we all three opted for the buffet. I opted for Fried Chicken, fried okra, cole slaw, a dab of Mashed potatoes, Mac n Cheese, Green beans, hot buttered roll and some rice… OMG. it was so delicious!!! I had to go back for more Green beans and Mac n Cheese… great food… Tony got some bread pudding and peach cobbler… and I had to grab a bite… great food !!! Noël got some fried apples and vanilla ice cream… it was good too!!! And the price… less than $ 30 with taxes, and I left her a $ 5 tip. she was awesome. friendly and quick on the iced tea refills… Great restaurant !! I would eat here again!!!

I’m an out of Towner visiting the area. Was taken to Mildred’s and pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has a very local feel to it. The food is authentic country and the prices are very reasonable. Overall great place to take a family.

Went to Mildred’s for their buffet dinner($ 8.99). I had the fried chicken and fried pork chop, along with several sides. Wife had a salad and fried chicken, sides. Plus: Buttered rolls were excellent, as were the green beans(bacon grease helps!) Fried okra was very good. Fried chicken was moist with a great crispy skin. Macaroni and cheese was pretty good. Negatives: Very limited salad bar offerings. Mashed potatoes had a distinct taste of being instant. Sweet potatoes had an unusual sweet taste that we couldn’t identify.(Maybe artificial marshmallow?) Peach cobbler was very, very sweet. All in all, not a great dinner, but not bad, either. Service was fast and staff was very friendly. Their new building is spotless. We will return for dinner to order off the menu as I am eager to try their catfish and my wife wants to give their hamburgers a try.

Good southern food at a good price. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. Always looks crowded from the outside, but has tons of room on the inside. My only reservation is most buffets have more choices for dessert.
