Alliance Chimney & Energy

One of the fun discoveries of our old South Philly house was that the chimney to which our heating exhaust was routed had no liner, meaning exhaust was hitting a wide open space instead of running through more compact duct work the way it should have been. This was causing leaks and other issues.
We asked around for recommendations for chimney service companies but found Alliance right here on Unilocal.Alliance (a) called us back and (b) didn’t propose any outlandish solutions, so even before we got to the installation we were in better shape than dealing with other companies.
Someone was out quickly to assess the situation and provide an estimate. The estimate was in line with others we had gotten and we felt that this company seemed to be on top of their game, so we didn’t hesitate to set up an appointment.
Mike showed up with a couple of guys to do the work. They cleared out a blockage in the chimney but found a couple of details that were missed during the initial visit and which would require additional parts. It set us back a month, but better to have it done right than done quickly. The crew showed up as scheduled to complete the job, and as far as we could tell it all went smoothly. Mike apologized for the delay, for the missing details from the initial visit, and for making such a mess in our basement despite the fact that he cleaned up so well it was like he was never even here.
The best part is that the delays and extra details didn’t impact the initial estimate. We paid exactly what we expected to pay, and so far everything seems to be running as it should.
I would absolutely recommend these guys if you are looking for chimney service.
Recommendation: Have the cash for the job and pay cash or check. They accept credit card payments but charge a 4% fee.

Great business! Family-​owned. They care about their clients. They installed a wood burning insert to an existing fireplace. Great job. Answers all questions. Returns phone calls. All around great company from owner to workers to office folks. Small business but has a great repuation. Customers are just as important as a job well done to them. Definitely recommend.
