Sleepword of Buncombe County

I think this has been one of my favorite shopping experiences in Asheville. My kids received new beds for Christmas. I don’t know if anyone else is tired of buying a bunch of gifts that nobody needs? I find that task to be exhausting. So this year they got the gift of good sleep:-)
When you walk into Sleepworld it’s very different from other mattress stores. The national chain stores feature fluorescent lighting and pushy sales people. Not to forget all of their products are off gassing toxic petroleum and fire retardants. Sleepworld is a very relaxing atmosphere. The lighting is calm. The employees are very knowledgeable and want you to be an educated consumer. The moment that I mentioned my concerns of off gassing, I was immediately pointed towards certain products and price points. I was never judged! Nor was I given any condescending crap like, «those claims haven’t been scientifically proven,» or, «the EPA says those chemicals are perfectly safe!» No, I was given alternative choices.
I also had the opportunity to work with Amanda the store manager. Fabulous! Not even kidding, she’s fantastic. I will shop at Sleepworld again! I will work with Amanda again. I love this store and the experience.
