VERY FRUSTRATING. If you have an iPhone 5 or up: be cautious! You are risking the fingerprint sensor from being damaged when they are repairing your cracked screen. This is exactly what happened to my iPhone 5s after taking it in to have my cracked screen repaired. It is deceiving to not disclose the risk that the fingerprint sensor faces when repairing even just a cracked screen. The repairman that assisted me the 2^nd time I took it in (after realizing that the fingerprint sensor was not working) even said, «If we did state the specific risks that your phone faces when replacing a cracked screen, we would have to be here an hour explaining it all».
A responsible business would have taken the time to do exactly that, and I as a customer would read this explicit liability form. My experience here was terrible to say the least.

Same day service and our iPad looks and works as good as new. Hopefully I never chuck the pad out of a moving car again, but if I do I’ll know where to go.

Crazy fast service! Took less than 30 minutes to replace my screen. Service was super friendly and QUICK, can not stress that enough. If you have any problems with your device definitely come here. Plus super groovy tunes playing in the shop.

Spent $ 150 to deal with this store for a month before i got a satisfactory result. Desk workers were always nice and polite but the manager was very rude. I cracked my ipod screen, and though the camera and screen selection worked fine I decided to fix it to avoid getting shards of glass in my fingers. They replaced the screen, but I had to call them repeatedly to check its progress. When I got it back it was glitching and selecting things on its own and the front camera did not work anymore. I took it back and the manager first told me it was a software problem (?) I didn’t know what I broke when I dropped it (??) and soldering was likely damaged, and disconnected completely when repairing. He seemed nervous and agitated from the getgo, like I was an unruly customer (I had been completely calm, though unsatisfied.)
I thought this explanation might be likely enough and asked him to call his owner to see if we could bring this to a satisfactory ending since my ipod worked worse now than when it was shattered. At my insistence he did, and said I would be getting a replacement. At this point I was very satisfied with this and waited for it to come in. When I got it and took it home, I realized it was only a 16 gigabyte to replace my 32! There is a distinct price difference in ipods with different memory so I was upset that I couldnt fit everything that I had on my last ipod with room to spare, since of course this was literally a device with half the memory. I assumed it was a mistake and asked for a replacement that actually met the same standards my original ipod did (working camera, working screen, 32g)
This is where my experience turned from mediocre to awful. The manager called me and said that the wrong ipod was MY FAULT because I (QUOTE:) «didn’t say [I] wanted a 32 gig, [I] only said [I] wanted a working camera.» I was absolutely floored that he thought this needed to be clarified or that this was an acceptable replacement. I even asked him if he would be satisfied with paying $ 150 for a downgraded device and he said he absolutely would, and kept insisting this was «technically» the same device. The absolute nerve this guy had! I felt like he was just trying to bully me into taking his mistake, and it started to feel like I had been scammed! I was openly upset at this point and called my experience a «shitshow» and that he was being rude, at which point he hung up on me. I called back, calmly, to reach an actual compromise and he said he didn’t speak to customers who cursed. Eventually he said he would call his owner to see if I could get another actual replacement (Why didnt he do this first instead of BULLYING me???) and the owner of course said yes. While waiting for the new device, I mentioned to a worker that I would keep my 16g until the new one came, because I didn’t feel comfortable with their service at this point, still wary of a scam. The manager left a rude message on my voicemail demanding to know why I was «holding the ipod hostage.» the device came and I couldn’t be more relieved to not have to go back to that store EVER AGAIN.
I finally have a working ipod after over a month of biting my tongue and trying to remain calm during their blunders and disrespect. They get the one star because of their pleasant workers and my eventual satisfaction, but BEWARE you may have to stand your ground and not give in to the manager’s desperate intimidation tactics of fast, elevated talking and telling you the mistake was yours!
If the owner of this store sees this review, I would like to say thank you, but please retrain your manager in customer service because his attitude is absolutely terrible and he has no idea how to diffuse a situation. All the solutions I had to come up with, he gave me no reassurance, and blaming me for his mistake was the very edge of what I could take. He only made me feel confused, insulted, and angry, and like I was very much being taken advantage of. That might be able to fly with naïve college students, but as someone who has worked in customer service I can tell you it did not impress me. If thats not the kind of reputation you want for your business in this town, I would suggest a change.

If I could give this business zero stars I would. My wife’s new phone had a cracked screen. It worked fine beside that. We called Iexperts and they said they can fix it within 24 hours for 140 $. So we dropped the phone off on Thursday. The manager said he would call when it was finished. It was not done in 24 hours. We called 3 days later, on a monday, and he stated that the phone would be done by 4pm, and we could come get it at that time. So, after picking the kids up, and juggling their sports, we made time to drive down and pick up the phone. When we arrived, Kaden the manager looked startled and said that the phone was not ready yet. He had no excuse as to why he didnt have it ready. OK. So we drove home. The next day we didn’t hear from them. I called and they stated that there were some problems, and it would be a couple days. So, we called very day for WEEK AND A HALF! They stopped taking my calls, so I had to use call blocking to reach them. Finally, next Monday, a week and a half later, they stated that they had finally fixed the phone. So, we picked it up. It had glue all over the perimeter, and the phone bulged, like a sandwich with too much meat. At this point my wife just wanted a working phone, so she took it. Upon getting it home, we both realized that 4G was not working at all. That is the only type of service that works where we live. Doing some research we found that there is a separate 4G antenna within the phone. We brought the phone back the next day, and they took it back. The manager said that the solder from the repair was making the phone bulged. And he said the solder «didn’t take» I demanded to speak with the owner, William Cierny. William called me after a few hours, and tried to reassure me that he had several problems repairing the phone, and assured me that it wasn’t his fault, and that it was just a fluke. And he told me that he had already spent a lot of money trying to fix this phone. I was patient and he assured me that he would have the phone working soon. They called me after a couple days and said that the phone was now fixed. STILL NOT FIXED! long story short, these people had our phone for over 3 weeks, and when they finally gave it back, it had glue around the perimeter, was missing its SIM card, and they were rude and uncommunicative throughout the process. This is one «business» owner who would be better off learning how to run a business than actually owning one. But they did give us ten dollars off. What a joke.
Update: a month later, we still haven’t received a replacement sim card for the one they lost.

Good experience here, thought I had sand in my phone, the guy there offered to check if that was the issue before replacing any parts or charging me.

I have owned four iPhones. I have broken all of them at one time or another and one of them I broke twice. I suppose I should learn from this lesson, but until now it’s been so easy to just get a screen replaced I’ve been happy with a phone that had no case on.
The I, so called, «experts» have changed my mind though. Although in San Francisco where I used to love it was easy to get a quick replacement, they charge more money than I have ever run into. I thought it might be okay this time, but then when the guys tried to fix it they said it was water damaged to, WHICH IT WAS NOT, and that I would need to fork over another bundle to finish the job. Seeing as how my phone was literally in pieces they had me and I couldn’t very easily just bring it elsewhere. I paid them and they finished the job. They weren’t very friendly and I would not recommend them. They will go to the point of no return and then tell you to pay more.

I have never written a Unilocal review until now. Can’t even say enough good about these guys. My wife’s iPhone went totally dead (red screen of death, wouldn’t boot, wouldn’t charge). And worst of all, none of the 1200 photos were backed up. I dropped this off as a last ditch effort and these guys had it fixed same day!!! Thank you thank you thank you. I wouldn’t hesitate to take a broken phone in there. Saved us TONS of money.

The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable. This was my second visit there and they were once again able to resolve my problem quickly and for a very reasonable price. I would definitely refer anyone with an iPhone problem here.

The iPhone surgeon was great, they all helped me out extremely and I must say sales associate Will was very helpful. I would recommend their service to any one who’s in need of their phone being repaired or any accessories to come to this store.

They did a really good job repairing the screen on my iPod Touch and were very fast. It was great that all my data was still intact on my device & I was also pleased that they use Apple factory parts. Great service. Highly recommend.

I took my iPhone 4s in due to the phone speaker being very quiet. They were very friendly, confident and fast to repair the phone. I got it back in about an hour with a working speaker. That night I put the phone on the charger and went to bed. The next morning the phone was at 1% battery life and would not charge. I returned the phone to them, they took it overnight to repair. The call came the next day that the phone would no longer power up and the phone was no longer any good. They offered to pay the deductible toward a new phone but I did not have insurance. Through some debate the owner gave me an iPhone 4 to replace my 4s with an old firmware. Not being completely satisfied but content I took the phone and shook the owners hand. I went home to update the phone through iTunes, the phone threw up an error message and the phone is now bricked and locked into a reboot mode. I now no longer have a phone and was told by the owner, «I am under no legal obligation to do anything at all. I had you sign a waiver acknowledging risks.» The owner was absolutely right I did sign a waiver and now I am without a phone. I would not recommend this company to repair your phone or any other device. I am in the repair business and I fully understand that things happen. It is all about what you do to take care of a person that makes the difference. In full disclosure I was contacting the owner on his personal cell phone that he gave me after business hours, I apologize for that.

In October, my iPod touch fell out of my pocket, and it landed where a car door shuts. I shut the car door and when I opened the door, I realized my ipod was there. My ipod was shattered. Then I took it to the iPhone surgeon, and he fixed it! It made it look brand new. :) I defiantly recommend going to the iPhone surgeon if your iPhone/​ipod/​iPad is shattered, alister will make it look good as new! :3

Alistair and his crew are honest, fair and reliable. Not only did they give me a great deal replacing my cracked iPhone4 screen, but they also gave me fair money for it when I sold it to upgrade to my iPhone5. One of the few businesses in Arcata earning their business by being good at it instead of just being the only game in town. If ever I require these services again, I will for sure be visiting the iPhone Surgeon!

The iPhone Surgeon helped me out when I dropped my 4S. He was friendly and did a great job on the repair. I learned my lesson and bought a protective case from him so it doesn’t happen again!

I was unsure if my son’s iPod was even repairable. These guys not only repaired the iPod to nearly brand new but they did it a few short hours! Awesome service, I highly recommend!

I dropped my iphone 3gs and shattered the screen. I looked online and found Alister’s website so I gave him a text. He called me back immediately and said he’d be right over to my place to fix it. He had it fixed in 20 min or less and it looks and works great! He’s super friendly and down to earth too. Great experience (except the whole shattering my screen part)! Highly recommended!

Alister was fast and professional. He fixed my iphone4 in a few hours. I had dropped it in the sink while doing dishes and thought it was dead for good. He worked around my schedule and came to me (with 2 kids that was a huge help for me). His rates are great, very reasonable!!! I thought I was going to have to spend hundreds to get it fixed. I was so happy when I found him.
