Coffee Break is Arcata’s only drive-​through and dine-​in café. We feature a delicious variety of coffee drinks, teas, non-​caffeinated options and even locally made kombucha!

We always strive to use local ingredients and our food items are made fresh in house, everyday. We also offer a variety of locally made pastries and bagels.

The new blonde there is smoking hot and makes really good coffee.
This place always had the best coffee in Humboldt, now they have the staff to match.

So far it is the only place in Arcata that continues to not get it. I ask for a double espresso and they tell me that all shoots are double. They give me a coffee that as soon as I put a bit of cream its temperature goes down to cold, meaning that their machine is not powerful enough.
I stopped going there for months, today I went back and asked for a single espresso, well they give me again the two shoots and went cold with a little bit of cream.
No matter what they can’t make espresso that is hot and double or singles

I’m not a connoisseur of coffee nor do I claim to be.
However, I know what a cappuccino is.
Too often is it burnt or watery and the foam is just spilled milk in my cup. It’s very upsetting when you have certain expectations for your coffee and they are not met.
The Coffee Break did not fail me.
The Coffee Break lived up to my order.
The Coffee Break made me love my morning cup of coffee again.
My coffee order is a double-​shot cappuccino and they delivered it with kindness and smiles. Thank-​you.

Cool place for a quick coffee on the way to class. They get busy so anything more than a coffee may take a few.

Young lady working gave us three servings of quiche although we had ordered two. She was speaking Italian with one of our group and so we thought she gave us the quiche as a gift. Next time we went in she came up to my friends and said ‘I hope you enjoyed your free quiche yesterday’ with a snide tone of voice like we did something wrong. We stopped going.
Update: I went back to buy some of the local pottery they have there and the new employees were WAY nicer. I spent over $ 100 on pottery and they helped wrap it in paper and found a box to carry it in.
I hope I never have to see that rude barista from the previous visit again!

Best coffee by far in arcata. Their water is tripple filter so there’s no bitterness or burnt taste in the coffee. Their espresso is perfect! Great crema. And prices are VERY affordable. The owner is very approachable and is always in a good mood. Free Internet too!

Good espresso. Haven’t tried the coffee but most of the baristas serve espresso with good crema.
Bagels, snacks, the usual fare.
Reliable internet, plenty of plugs.
Total neighborhood joint. Many folks who come here know each other. The owner is super kind. Good local fliers/​community board. Plenty of parking. Drive thru!
