ALL organic super premium ice cream and sorbets using Straus Family Creamery dairy, fresh local fruits, and made daily in small batches.

History

Established in 2009.

Our goal is to provide our community with a cozy place to enjoy fresh ALL organic ice cream and sorbet that is made on the premises in small batches. We support our local farmers and other businesses by using local, organic, seasonal ingredients as they become available. We only use the highest quality organic ingredients to make the popular flavors like strawberry and cookies & cream, as well as the more unusual… vanilla honey lavender, toasted sesame, jalapeño… Our ice creams never contain any gums, stabilizers, or chemicals of any kind. Don’t want dairy? There’s always two non-​dairy options.

Really it is as good as it gets. across the street from 4 star Los Bagels.
There is nothing to say if you are an ice cream fan.
It is one of the best in country.
flavors can change nightly so if you like one, have a second cone before you leave.

Best place to grab some ice cream! I love that you can get a split scoops which gives you the opportunity to try out new flavors. Boysenberry swirl is like heaven! They only have it when the berries are in season of course, but when you see it on the menu it’s a must try! Honey vanilla lavender is the ice cream flavor their most known for and there’s a reason; It’s AMAZING!

Came here with my date before heading back to willow creek, I’ve been wanting to stop here for a long time. I got a kid’s mint chip (coconut milk base) and it was amazing. I’m not a huge fan of ice cream but they totally changed my mind. They make their own cones, and their own ice cream. it is so good (:

Love this place! Very kid friendly! They have a wooden cash register & counter that comes with wooden ice cream cones. They also donated to our children’s preschool recently for our local art show! I love this place! We will drive all the way from Eureka just for their strawberry ice cream alone. Did I mention they are organic? Love them!

Still the best organic ice cream around. Made in small batches, always fresh and always changing flavors. Can be really busy at times, and often a line out the front door — but well worth the effort
Waffle cones and bowls are made fresh daily, and sometimes literally right as you order. Arcata Scoop is still a great local ice cream shop that makes the best organic ice cream around.
Definitely worth a visit and a great local business.

I am vegan so I get their dairy-​free option which is usually coconut based. They always have a sorbet too, which is usually lemon.
They rotate (from what I have seen as dairy-​free flavors) chocolate, lemon poppyseed, mint chip.
They also have vegan waffles cones they make fresh, practically in front of you.
Great place for kids and adults to get their ice cream fix.
My boyfriend is not vegan and loves their regular ice cream!
Cons: get some toppings going!

Never a bad experience. Get a regular half and half, you get to choose two flavors. Earl grey? Sounds strange but it’s killer. Always good ice cream, always good service. The people are nice. The décor is simple, yet elegant. Don’t ride the horse if you’re over the weight limit. It’d be a shame to break this amazing piece of art! Enjoy. I do every time I go.

Great ice cream. One of my favorite places I visited in Arcata. The ice cream is delicious and the service was great. The décor alone makes this place. I tired the honey waffle which was heaven! I loved the flavor and the chunks of waffle in the ice cream.

Good ice cream, fun flavors, and they usually have a dairy-​free option that actually tastes great! Could use some topping options.
About a week ago, my boyfriend and I got some dinner at Crush, which is down the street from Scoop (and delicious, by the way). After our meal, we debated between getting dessert there, or heading over to Scoop. We decided on Scoop, paid the bill, then headed over to get some ice cream, just to find that the building was closed at 9 pm, despite the listed closing time being 10:30. No sign on the door, no explanation, nothing.
We couldn’t exactly go back to the restaurant we have came from for dessert, so we left feeling dejected.
Not cool, scoop. It isn’t hard to put up accurate hours.

Honey vanilla lavender is all you need to remember.
Atmosphere was awesome, with the old school seating appealing to yesterday and today’s youth. It was a welcoming, comfortable and safe atmosphere that really allowed me to enjoy my dessert.
Husband was craving something sweet after bowling at Harbor Lanes in Eureka, so I suggested we try scoops. He was weary because we’d have to drive to arcata (we’re lazy), but I think he was happy with the ice cream. Not sure if we would drive all the way out there again, though… Unless we were really jonesing for it.
Price point was kind of high for ice cream, but you can tell it is the good stuff… So worth it for a sweet treat!

That’s all I need to say.
I was hesitant from the start, but I’m so glad I tried it! Not bitter at all, slightly sweet and goes well with the poppyseed. The waffle cone is one of the best I’ve had!
All ice creams and waffle cones are made on site, two thumbs up!

Wow, this place is good. I’m not high (as some reviewers seem to accuse the lovers of this place of being), I just like fresh-​tasting, delicious ice cream. I got a scoop of chocolate and boy was it exactly that! It was not overly sweet or anything like that — it was just chocolate and cream flavored with a minimal amount of sugar.
My girlfriend got a scoop of boysenberry (made with local berries) and that was also delicious!
You can get waffle cones or bowls, which are made right there in front of you by one of the employees.
