History
Established in 2011.
The Arcata Holistic Health Center evolved from a long line of holistic businesses which have occupied its location for over a decade. Its current incarnation is as a micro-business laboratory, where holistic practioners can develop independent entrepreneurial ideas backed by concrete business resources. It embodies the collective spirit of Humboldt County, and seeks to support whole, healthy holistic businesses just as they support whole, healthy people.
Meet the Business Owner
Thomas K.
Business Owner
After discovering a nascent passion for anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology Thomas received his initial training in massage techniques from the Utah College of Massage Therapy in 2001. For the next 7 years he specialized in Structural Integration, combining it with techniques in PNF stretching, neuromuscular re-education, Russian Sports massage, and Chinese Medicine. In 2009 he settled down in Humboldt County, and 2 years later he took ownership of the Arcata Holistic Health Center (formerly the Oasis), and transformed it into a center for community education and a business resource for the area’s rich holistic community.
