I called Post Alarm because i was referred by a friend, I made a appointment for a representative to come to my home, their representative was Rick Hagen he was on time and very knowledgeable with alarms and security systems, after he listened to our concerns of service and pricing , he gave us a few options and explained everything.
We called him back the next day and set up a time and date for installation.
The installers were on time and did a great job

After years with Brinks and then ADT, I was ready for a change when they wanted to up my monthly fee for changing to an internet-​based system from a phone-​based system. Post Alarm installed a new system with lower monthly fees than ADT. When calling Post, you deal with humans and I was immediately put in touch with Kenny. He scheduled a house call, came precisely when he said he would, and was courteous and helpful. Ditto for the installer. It’s nice to work with a local company who is interested in serving their customers beyond just taking their money!

Terrible company! They will send you to collections for $ 3.00 and after three months will ruin your credit. We signed on with post in 2005 and the only problem we had with them in the beginning was that we would not get their bills in the mail every month and after 30 days they immediately will send you to third party collections. I spoke to post and they said they were having problems in the billing department. So we asked to pay every 6 months and they agreed. In 2011 they raised the rate on us but we never got a letter. My wife pays them every six months so she didn’t really notice the small increase and paid it a year. In 2012 I got a phone call demanding we pay our bill for six months of $ 177.70 which seemed odd to me. Once again they did not send us a bill but are so quick to send us to third party collections. I found out thru collection company of the monthly charge and immediately disputed it. I told my wife we should be paying $ 24.95 a month, which is $ 149.70 for 6 months not $ 167.70 and late charges that now come to a total of $ 177.70. I called the company and their attitude was you have been sent to collections twice before with us and when I said its not our fault you guys admitted to that, all I got was bad attitude. I asked that they adjust our account back to what we have been paying for years and was told that someone will contact us. Some time had passed and the only people that contacted us was again the third party collection company. We have been in dispute with them since then and in the process our credit was affected. Its not the money, its the principle. I too am a family business owner and will always try to work it out with my customers not send a third party collection company to annoy them. So thanks Post alarm for your expensive repairs, faulty system, bad customer service, and hurting my credit. Enjoy your Unilocal review, you deserve it.

This is my 3^rd time using post and I’ve always had a great experience and even referred my aunt who then referred me to Kenny when I was ready to install an alarm in my new home. He was very thorough and gave me many options and worked within my budget. My experience with him was excellent. He was there for the beginning of my installation and even came the next day on his day off to show me how to use the system. He called and texted me several times after my installation to ensure I had no issues. I really appreciate how attentive he was and I would absolutely recommend Kenny and Post to anyone.

I’m going to be as descriptive and accurate as I possibly can. I bought my first house in LA. Being used to secure buildings, I wanted the best service I could get but didn’t know anything about alarms or security companies. My contractor and everyone else simply told me they were all useless while my broker told me to get whatever my neighbors had and whatever was installed in my house before I got here since I would get more area coverage and it would just be easier.
This left me with two choices, POST or PROTECTION ONE. I call post. This was around twenty days ago. Maybe more. Instead of focusing on what they can offer me, they start giving me the BS of how I should go with them instead of Protection one since they are family owned, they care about their customers but more importantly, they have immediate, human response, while protection one is a large company who doesn’t respect installation times nor cares about customers. OKAY. I believe you. Let’s set up an appointment for a SALES GUY to come to my house since NOBODY in the phone can explain anything to me.
Trent, From sales, comes to my house. Says he has been to the house before. He knows it well since he used to work for Protection One, who used to service my home. Again, he gives me the Mumbo jumbo about P1 but has no idea about what I should get or install in my home in terms of equipment. I have never met such an uninterested man in regards to his work but he sure had interest in having me signing paperwork and charging me an activation fee plus the first month! I will have to pay nothing else he says. He also tells me someone else will come to install services in four days, as it was the soonest.
The installation day arrives. I have twenty people working in my house. My wife is there., supervising the remodeling. Nobody showed up. I call twice, they say they will contact me back. Nothing. Third call was at 2pm and they tell me installer is supposed to come between 1pm and 5pm. FINE. Let’s give them another chance. Nobody comes. I call back at 5, extremely frustrated and now they tell me someone came in the morning but left because there was no landline! now I go ballistic since the first thing Trent told me, is that I needed it and I got it with TWC. BS answer, like all their previous ones.
One of their multiple managers, either Nick or Jaime (talked to so many) tells me that they will offer me some months off and that they will have Another sales guy come to my house next day or two days later.
Two days later, (Can’t remember his name unfortunately) another sales guy comes, takes a look and by the time he is leaving, he says it won’t be less than 2k but he will send me precise quote so that when approved, an installer comes out!!! On top of this, he says this won’t be soon. What a JOKE but hey, once again, let’s listen them out.
Five days later, no quote. I have wasted HOURS of my time but worse than everything, this «family company who cares about their customers» has left my family with no alarm but surely charged me. All after speaking to At least ten people in the company. Today, I called to simply ask for a refund but the installation manager, Anthony told me that now, someone from accounting would have to call me back to process refund. Not after he accused me of SLANDER since I told him I was going to write this review. Most ridiculous company I have ever worked with. Worst of all is they were the ones supposed to make me feel safe.
Save your money but more than anything, don’t waste your time like I did. Not only I wasted my time, patience and mental health without getting ANYTHING done, They charged me for it!!!

I have been a customer for a long time with Post Alarm. They have always provided good service until recently when I’ve had nothing but trouble with my wireless alarm. It would go off in the middle of the night and I would have to run downstairs to press it off and have lost many sleep. After many phone calls with the tech dept I finally got an appointment for one week later. For between 3 – 5 pm. They even agreed to call my cellphone to let me know 30 minutes prior so I can come home from work to greet them. 3 days before our scheduled appointment they leave me a message on my home phone that they were coming. I called Post and was advised by the same tech that his notes showed my appointment was at 4 pm today and there was no information to call me. Finally I was told he would have someone come before 6pm. I will update if service call is complete. They just ate not as good as they used to be…
9÷3÷2015: Update to my previous review. Post Alarm Company did try to correct the situation, which is a PLUS. They apologized, gave me a month credit, had the technician Dave come out to on the date previously scheduled and threw in a $ 35 battery for free. I liked that!

Wow. I don’t know if it was «Luck of the Draw» or that I’m just living right but Post Alarm done me good! They sent out Rick Hagen to give me a run down of their products and I get the impression that he’s been doing alarms for decades, the guy knows his stuff! No pressure, No muss, no fuss. He explained everything really well and steered me away from things that I thought I needed but really didn’t. I thought the price quoted was fair and jumped on a quick install date for a new home purchase. THEN, they send a young gun named Mario, who must be the «A Team» to do the install. He was in and out in a couple of hours and was as clean and concise with the install as I’ve ever seen and I’ve had almost 20 alarm installs in the past 5 years. Post Alarms. you have impressed me so far.
TIP: When you call, ask for Hagen and Mario for the install, you’ll feel like a WINNER!

Working in the law enforcement field, safety is always my main concern. It is a great feeling that when I am not around, I can count on Post Alarm to look out for my family. They are constantly monitoring my home and they are only a phone call away when an issue occurs. The safety of my family is definitely one less thing I have to worry about when leaving for work.
Post Alarm takes pride in their customer service. Each and every post alarm staff that I have talked to or met have been patient and kind. They took the the time to walk me through the new alarm system I had installed. The technician, Sal, that came to my home to install my new alarm system, did an excellent job. He engaged in a conversation, was extremely helpful, and did a fantastic job cleaning up any mess he may have made from the installation. He was also quick and very knowledgeable of the hardware he was installing. Trent, the sales rep, was also extremely helpful. He was able to determine what kind of alarm system I needed that would be a best fit for my new home. He even personally came back and checked in with me to see how the new alarm system was working and if I had any questions. Trent did not seem like he was there to sell me the most expensive product. He truly had my best interest and explained what I needed and what was necessary based on the lay out of my home.
Just a few days ago, I was away from my home. I received a phone call in regards to a sensor that had been activated. Perhaps someone had tried to break in to my home. Within seconds, I received a phone call from Post Alarm. Post Alarm was able to contact the police, informed them about the residential audible alarm, and had them dispatch a police unit to see if everything was okay. Fortunately, we were able to determine it was due to a faulty battery. However, the swiftness of Post Alarms’ actions simply proves just how fast they are able to act if an actual emergency did occur.
In addition, having the program called «Total Connect» gives me additional reassurance I have extra eyes watching over my home. It allows me to arm and disarm my alarm system using my smart phone. It also keeps a virtual log of all the alarm system’s activities throughout the day. It is an extremely convenient tool and I recommend everyone in getting it. If I have family coming over when I am currently not at home, I can disarm the system remotely without giving away my pin number. It is absolutely an amazing tool to have.
In conclusion, If you are looking for some generic alarm system that may or may not work, by all means choose anything else but Post Alarm. But if you are serious about getting an alarm system with people who actually care about your safety, is swift in taking actions during an emergency and offers the best customer service their is, Post Alarm is your best bet. There is no long term contract since the payments are on a month to month basis. If you have some rare and odd reason to opt out of Post Alarm monitoring your home, you can do it at any time. However, based on my experiences with Post Alarm, I believe I will be a customer for a quite long time.
I have referred Post Alarm to many Law Enforcement officers as well as regular civilians and I can guarantee all of them will tell you, they are more then satisfied in doing business with Post Alarm Systems.

Update: Gina, the owner of the company contacted me after seeing the Unilocal review. She apologized and explained that this was a training issue with her staff and the situation should not have happened. She offered to send someone over to our house to replace the battery. A tech came out next day, changed out the battery, tested the system and Gina herself followed up with a phone call. Service went from bad to great.

We purchased a home in 2010 with an existing Post alarm system. After changing the monitoring service into our names, used the system for about a year or so, but it kept going off in the middle of the night and scaring me. So… we canceled the monitoring service and just kept the system as is, mainly for the chime function.
A few days ago, in the middle of the night (of course!), the system stopping beeping non-​stop to indicate a low battery. It took me a half an hour to figure out how to turn the beeping off, but it keeps turning on every 8 hours or so.
The unit housing the battery and all the wiring, itself, doesn’t have an on/​off switch that is visible and there’s no way to disconnect it. So, I called Post, explained the situation and asked to see if they have the batteries available and if I can pick one up.
The response was «if you are not our monitored customer, we can not help you.» Hmm… but you guys installed the system, wouldn’t it be nice, forget customer service friendly, to help out. I’ll pay for the battery, any service calls, if needed, just would like to get this taken care of so that I don’t worry about it and keep dealing with it. After, 5 phone calls, waiting on hold and them making me sign a contract to «allow» me to even talk to the service department, I still did not get any help.
I ended up ordering the battery online and will have to wait until it’s delivered. If I do have to have someone come out to service the system, it will not be Post.

We’ve had a great experience with Post so far. Rick Hagen was super helpful in setting it up and went beyond the call of duty to help us open some windows in the house that had been painted shut. It’s our first security system and they did a great job explaining everything.

Several weeks ago Post Alarm installed our system. We are extremely pleased with both the system and the excellent service we received from Rick Hagen. He came before, during and after the installation, he did a survey of our home and made recommendations has to where and what should be protected, including several things we had never considered. He explained the system in detail — how to work it and how it works.
I researched and spoke with several companies and am extremely pleased with our choice.

I did my initial research and Post Alarm Systems were cost competitive with other alarm companies. Based on all the great Unilocal reviews for Kenny, I called and specifically asked for him. I am so glad I did. My overall experience working with Kenny was great. He was thorough in going over all the options and answered all of our questions. The best part was that he didn’t try to steer us in any one direction. He strictly provided the information that we needed so that my wife and I were able to choose what was best for us. Kenny Lee delivered on everything he said he would and my wife and I couldn’t be happier. We’ve had our Post Alarm installed for just under 2 weeks now but feel incredibly safe and taken care of already. From Kenny’s initial sales pitch, which was very informative but far from aggressive, to his supervision of our installation, we knew we were getting a quality service from the start and in every aspect.
I’ve tested the system out myself a few times already and am quite happy to see just how quickly Post responds to potential security threats. The calls I got from their operators were timely and it was great seeing they didn’t mind the frequent testing.

We recently had a wake up call when someone broke into our car outside of our house. It immediately made me consider alarming our home. I called Post alarm after meeting with one other company. Kenny Lee was the sales rep that came to our house to explain all if our options and how their system works. He was right on time for our appointment, very courteous and explained everything in detail. He was able to answer all if our questions, and gave us a better deal than the other company. We signed up with Post Alarm, largely because of Kenny’s presentation. He is also available for questions and even came back AFTER the installation to make sure we were comfortable with the alarm system and accessing the app on our phones.

Customer Service was exceptional from start to finish. Kenny Lee took care of us through the whole purchase, installation and setup. The system was very intuitive and easy to use. I’ve accidentally tripped off our motion sensors 4 times since installation and the response was quick and the monitoring rep was very courteous to talk to. The tripping off the sensor was my own doing due to getting used to disarming the alarm in the morning as habit. Their prices are very competitive to other companies out there and they’re local as well, which is a plus. I did a lot of research and shopped around a bunch of companies (about 10+ companies) and finally picked Post Alarm. Highly recommended.
