Michael’s Fine Art Studio was founded in 1998 in Arcadia, CA. From its inception, its goal was to provide high quality Fine Art instruction to the entire community, from young children to adults. A major factor in learning art is the enthusiasm of the instructors; the studio has painstakingly interviewed and selected the very best and dedicated professionals who are enthusiastic about their craft. We have developed a custom-​tailored Fine Art program for each age-​group and natural-​ability combination, which best suits a student’s individual pace and interests.

Under the direction and supervision of its founder Michael Chen, the studio closely monitors the planned sequence of skills to be developed and charts its progress to assure that the student develops a thorough basic art foundation. It consists of exercises, goal-​oriented assignments, and demonstrations arranged to build and develop artistic talent.

History

Established in 1998.

After more than 10 years in the animation industry, he felt a passion to return to arts education, fortified with expertise gained while working as an artist on numerous hit children’s shows.

Michael first received fine arts training from China Fine Art Academy, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He also hold professional teaching credentials from the East China Normal University, with a degree in Children’s Education Psychology and was an instructor at Shanghai University. Following his success in China, Michael furthered his education in the masters program at Academy of the Arts in San Francisco, before beginning a prolific career in the animation studios of Hollywood and Los Angeles. Working on such popular shows as Pinky and the Brain, Scooby-​Doo, Lilo & Stitch, SpongeBob Squarepants, his work has garnered industry recognition, including an Emmy Award. His clientele includes: Fox Animation, Warner Bros., and Nickelodeon.
