Matossian Kirk ,DDS

I recently moved from Northern Cal and found Dr. MATOSSIAN on Unilocal.Every time I go to see the him, I have such a great experience. I used to hate going to my old dentist, but finding him made all of the difference. He is kind, gentle and never tries to sell me anything I don’t need. What else can I ask for??? Thank you Dr. Kirk & Staff!!!

This dentist has always been extremely professional. Both Dr. Matossian and his team, take the time with you, answer questions, and are very efficient. They see you at your appointment time. do not keep you waiting, and has changed my who dental experience perception.
I fully recommend this doctor to anyone who needs a dentist!!!

Dr. Kirk Matossian is one of the BEST dentists around! I have been a patient of Dr. Matossian since I was 9 years old and I absolutely love him. He is so gentle and professional. He takes his time to explain what is going on with my teeth and always makes sure to give me the best treatment.
My kids love Dr Matossian too! He took care of my son’s cavities last week and it was quick and painless. He is so patient and made the experience so easy. His staff is awesome, vey professional and friendly!
I won’t trust anyone else with my teeth. I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED him!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Matossian’s for almost 21 years. I have only the highest praise for him; his dental assistant, Stella; and his hygienist, Vicki. Twice I have had dental emergencies, and Dr. Matossian went above and beyond what I anticipated. My first broken tooth happened during lunch on a Sunday. I called his pager and he responded within 15 MINUTES! About 15 years later I had a similar emergency on a Thursday afternoon. He came in on his day off (Friday) to see me. I do not think there are too many dentists who are so very caring that they respond as Dr. Matossian did, especially after almost 30 years in practice. I believe his fees are reasonable and the quality of his work is outstanding.

Dr. Matossian, is an excellent dentist. I had written a review back in 2009, and we consistently go to Matossian for our teeth cleaning, and other necessary procedures.
Recently, prior to going on vacation, my husband had broke his front tooth. Dr. Matossian, and his Staff, were kind enough to fit him in last minute and put on a temporary cap so that he could enjoy his time out-​of-​state. He has always been incredibly professional and very perfectionistic in his work. Dr. Matossian, is very meticulous about his work and always gets it right the first time.

Vicki has always done a good job of cleaning all the teeth in our family and we have a BIG family!
We wish Dr. Matossian and his wonderful & hardworking staff (including Estelle) many, many more years of good dental practice. So far, all our family’s teeth have been kept in excellent shape!
Now… that’s something to smile about! (Say… Cheese!)

Hands down the best dental cleaning I have ever gotten! I’m a freak about my teeth and over brush all the time. Kim, the dental hygienist was so gentle and good. My previous dentist was doing my teeth on his own because his hygienist retires. It would take him 10 minutes and he would be done. I always felt like I had tartar on my teeth after. Well, after Kim did my teeth, they felt smooth and clean. It’s been a week and they still feel great. The front office is a bit outdated but the equipment and view in the back are all top notch. Very clean place. Super professional staff. I had two filings that were lifting and needed to go back to have them replaced. Ill let you know how it went.

I was new to the LA area, I had just started a new insurance plan with a new job, and could not look online yet to find a provider, so I asked a friend/​co-​worker if they had a good dentist. They referred Dr. Matossian. Big mistake!!!
Because my insurance registration was not processed and I couldn’t check online, I called to ask if they accepted BC/​BS Dental, and was promptly told yes by the incompetent receptionist. She said nothing about being out of network or that I may be responsible for a portion of the initial routine exam and cleaning. They did not request any dental records from my previous dentist and upon arriving to an old building with antiquated office equipment, was told that I would need a full set of x-​rays (an extra $ 140). I provided my insurance card, and again, neither the incompetent receptionist nor the billing specialist explained that they were out of network providers and I would be responsible for a significant portion of the bill, which should be $ 0.00 out of pocket for an exam and cleaning.
The hygienist was pleasant, but used the same old technology that I experienced in the 80’s (pick-​axe). There are so many new technologies that I have experienced with the last 3 dentists that I have gone to… I literally felt like I was going back to the stone age.
After the excruciatingly painful cleaning (I have not had a painful cleaning or new cavity in 25+ years), the dentist came in and spent all of 1 min with me (45 seconds looking at the x-​rays).
Despite all of this and against my better judgment, I figured that I could live with all of the negatives. Realistically, I was just being lazy and I didn’t want to have to waste more time finding a new dentist.
That was until I received a bill equal to 60% of the services. When I called both my insurance and Dr. Matossian’s office on Monday morning to ask why I was being billed $ 170 for a routine exam and cleaning, which should cost nothing out of pocket, I was then told that the Dr. was out of network and I was responsible for the balance. Despite the receptionist admitting fault, I was told that the Dr. would not likely waive any fees. I asked to speak with the billing specialist, who instructed me that they would have an answer for me by the end of the day. I got no response. I called on Tuesday and was given the same answer. Finally on Wednesday, I asked to speak directly to the Dr. and was told he would call me on Friday. At 2pm on Friday, I called the office, only to find out that they are not even open on Fridays, so I paged the Dr. When he called back, he knew nothing of the issue and informed me that he was sorry and that I would be contacted first thing Monday morning. At around noon on Monday, I received a very unprofessional voice message from a blocked number stating that the Dr. approved waiving $ 69 and that I would still be responsible for $ 100 payment by the end of the week.
$ 100 is nothing in the scheme of things, but it is still my hard earned money that should not have to be paid for a $ 0.00 out-​of-​pocket routine exam. I made the payment, because I don’t want these scam artists sending me to collections.
This was hands down the worst customer service and dental experience ever!!!

P. S. They didn’t just lose my business, my friend (a 5+ year patient, who was totally surprised and embarrassed) decided that after my ordeal, they are not going to return either. Oops!!! I guess the joke’s not on me anymore!

I had very bad experience with Dr Kirk Matossian. I DO NOT recommand him as a Dentist. I consider Dr Kirk as a REFERRAL DOCTOR. HE sent me to three different doctors. I brought with me 20 xrays from DENTAL GROUP in Arcadia. He again took 2 xray. And sent me to Dr David C Jen (Endodontics) 255 S. Rosemead Bl.Rosemead., for TWO route canals, He did one and could not finish the second one because the canal was too narrow, according to Dr.Jen. Then came back to Dr Matossian with the bad news. this time he sent me to Dr PETER COOPER in Pasadena. for tooth extraction! Gave me an appointment for future to perform the tooth extraction. Then DR. MATOSSIAN send me to a THIRD Dentist (Prosthodontic) who told me that I do NOT NEED ROUTE CANALS, NOR TOOTH EXTRACTION AND NO NEW bridges, which would have cost me over $ 8,000.
The THIRD doctor which I recommend was Dr SCOTT ADISHIAN, 200 South Oak Knoll Suite 101, Pasadena, Ca.91 101. He performed two cavity filling and I was done within hafh hour. I do believe that he should change his title as REFERRAL DOCTOR, in my opinion Dr Matossian works on commission. H SHAHOIAN

DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST!!!
I was told that I need a root canal for a cavity that I had in my crown. I made an appointment to do that the following week. After going home, I was talking to a friend about it who thought was an extreme measure for what I had. I called Dr. Kirk’s office to ask if I absolutely need to have the root canal. I didn’t even get to talk to Dr Kirk. The receptionist went to ask him while I waited and then told me yes I need it. Apparently, I need to make another appointment to just talk to him for five minutes.
I ended up going to another dental office and get second opinion. I didn’t need root canal. My second dentist simply took out the cavity and filled it. This was couple years ago and my tooth is fine to this date.
In my opinion, this guy is only interested in making money and do not care about patients.

I had this great dentist in West Covina, who was great! Very gentle and calming. One day, I go for my 6 month check up and (gasp) he wasn’t there. The staff told me he’d moved out of state.
After that it was nothing but trial and error until I found Dr. Matossian. A co-​worker referred me to him. Being that 3 from my company were already going to him, I figured this guy might just be «the one».
I arrive at my appointment and am suprised by the short wait. I have been at places where I’ve waited up to 2 hours! Don’t expect a long wait here. The staff is great! They are very friendly and tend to explain all there is to know about your teeth to you. Dr. Matossian was just as gentle when it came to handling my teeth as the Dentist was that I had lost a long time ago once upon a time.
