Bin Bin Konjac

One of the best shaved ice I had. blew class 302 away!

Just came through here for my first visit, and was pleasantly surprised by their iced desserts that they serve. I opted for the sweet boba ice, and really enjoyed the combination of the flavors. The shaved ice was topped with ample amounts of boba and just the right amount of condensed milk and other sweetening flavors. The result was a delicious and tasty treat, and was not overly sweet, which is a nice change from other establishments that serve similar items.
They have a seating area indoors as well, and the staff here are very friendly and make you feel truly welcomed. The desserts were prepared very quickly too, but this may have been because there were few customers since it was a cold day outside and around dinner time. I was very pleased with everything here, and would love to make it back if I’m ever in the area again. I encourage people to give this place a try if they haven’t already been. They are located in a complex, and it didn’t seem too hard to find a good parking spot!

I’m no konjac expert but what I ordered here was definitely NOT konjac.
The konjac jelly I have tried before is similar to coconut jelly, chewy and has a bit of a crunch to it.
The one here tastes like regular jelly you can get at any boba places, but flavored. Not to mention that I was charged $ 4 a cup. I felt so scammed.
Got the birds nest konjac. I’m pretty sure it’s not real birds nest, but my drink tasted kinda sour… like it went bad.
Pearl barley with konjac was even worse. Lack of sugar in the drink, making it really bland. The barley was good though.
One star for drinks definitely but another star because the girl working there was really nice

I’m currently on a severe diet of no sugar and no carbs (or VERY small amounts of these), so trying to find anything that I can eat/​drink/​snack on is a little difficult. I have the most supportive bf ever, so he’s been doing majority of the research to make sure that I don’t get too grouchy for having cravings/​hunger pangs.
We were in the area, so he was able to find Bin Bin Konjac. Luckily for me, I can have as much tea as I’d like, where konjac and aloe vera doesn’t have too much sugars or carbs.
We noticed the cash sign on the door, which wasn’t a problem for us. The cashier was very sweet, polite, and professional, and was very accommodating. Bf ordered one of the black jelly konjac drinks, while I had the aloe vera konjac drink. Both drinks we wanted without any added sugar. Both drinks came out exactly how we requested. I’m sure we both got weird looks, since it probably tasted pretty bland (it did), but, yay for people making it the way the customer wants and not what they think it should be!
So, super props to this small store creating the drinks the way we wanted (which may have been a little abnormal). Super props to the excellent service. I’m getting a feeling that it’s probably a mom-​and-​pop shop, so, support your local mom-​and-​pop shops!

This is like most other shaved ice joints, but I wasn’t a fan of the brown sugar. It killed the whole bowl of mango and condensed milk for me. I guess I’m used to the other places in San Gabriel (Pa Pa Walks is still my fave) because this was the first time I had the brown sugar on top.
Their almond milk tea was good. But guess I’ll have to go further south towards San Gabriel/​Alhambra to get my shaved ice fix.

This is legitimate traditional Taiwanese shaved ice, not the newly popular flavored «snow ice.» Yup, the kind where you get your ice, select four toppings, and add liquefied brown sugar on top. The only reason it doesn’t get five stars are (1) a little skimpy on the ice. The ice to toppings ratio should have been a bit more. (2) No boiled peanuts were available as a topping, although all the other usual favorites (red bean, mung bean, grass jelly, etc.) were available. Other than those two areas for improvement, I highly recommend this place. The employees were friendly and it’s a comfortable place to sit and enjoy traditional Taiwanese shaved ice.

It’s been so freaking hot lately that I just have to come here and get their shaved ice. Last time I came on a Tuesday, they were closed :(I’m glad I was in the area on Wednesday!
Just as I remembered it, their ice was really good! I like how fresh their toppings taste, place they don’t skimp out on it. They make sure to add a good proportion of toppings to ice, plus they put a scoop of ice cream on it too! I’m sure you can also choose what toppings to put, but I just went with the ice cream with grass jelly and green bean shaved ice. Delicious on a hot day. Much needed.

This is real Taiwanese shaved ice with the multitudes of toppings that I want! Red beans, mochi, boba, lychee? Of course! But they also have mung beans, black sugar, taro, jellos and pudding. This is not your overly sweet new wave of shave ice places. This is not Snow. This is the best kind of finely shaved ice. (Snow is full of cream and sugar). This will hit the spot and not be too sweet.
If you don’t try this shaved ice. You CAN NOT SAY YOUVE REALLY HAD SHAVED ICE. I’ll say it again. Come and try. This is the real thing.

Getting my konjac fix. Ordered hot grass jelly and fresh fruit shaved ice.
Hot grass jelly had the sweet potatoes balls, taro balls, mung bean, mochi, red bean and pearl barley. Really good and hit the spot when I really wanted a warm dessert. The potatoe and taro balls ate a bit smaller in size than their Walnut location but that’s too be expected as they’re handmade. Also, the grass jelly was REALLY hot when it came out but after mixing, became lukewarm. Not their fault but worth noting. Very filling — come hungry or ready to share this one.
Shaved ice was good — what you’d normally expect at a Taiwanese place with one exception — the dark sugar syrup and ice cream. I’ve never had shaved ice with dark sugar. Must try!

My friend and I ate dinner at Sinbala one night and came across Bin Bin Konjac. We both thought it was some sort of traditional herbal medicine shop. Turns out, this place sells boba and shaved ice! Who would have thunk?!
The mango shaved ice was pretty good. I’m not sure if it had condensed milk in it, but it was topped off with brown sugar and some ice cream. It was great sweet treat to combat the sweltering SoCal heat.
Cash only, limited seating.

Shared a red bean and taro slush. It was not what I imagined. There was no condensed milk and a bunch of chewy taro and sweet potato ball-​y things. It was tasty and hit the spot on an otherwise horridly hot day, just not what I expected.
I believe this place is cash only. Bummer.
Also, minus a star because we got stuff but were still kicked out when the next wave of people came in. They either need to get more seating or accept that things should be first come, first serve. Seemed kind of greedy (and a bit racist for reasons you can imagine).

Located in the same plaza as Sinbala, I come here sometimes after so that I can get my hands on some delicious konjac shaved ice, and drinks! My mom used to get this for me all the time because she says konjac is healthy for you. While it may be healthy for me, it’s still in this sweet as f drink, which doesn’t make it very healthy – but I never told my mom that, hahaha.
I used to get this strawberry konjac drink that I begged my mom to get for me every weekend — I think eventually she caught on and she never bought it for me again! :(Konjac is one of those things that taste like the crystal jelly (or aiyu) but ALOT more rigid and more texturized and chewier. Much more expensive than boba or aloe of any of those.
Since I’ve grown up, I’ve come here to get the shaved ice with mango, konjac and it is the best! Not many places (if any) has konjac so I’ll always, always remember this place when I want konjac!

Misleading, that they’re trying to market his as «health food», but I can see how the lines get blurred. If you only consume the konjac part with out all the suragry and carby add-on’s then healthy it is, but who does that?
It’s like ordering an ice cream sundae with frozen yogurt instead and no whipped cream, hot fudge, nuts, or sprinkles.
Bin Bin Konjac is definitely a dessert, and yes, I LOVE red beans and mung beans for dessert.
Family run and a dying franchise here in CA. I hope they last because these places are few and far.

I always come here to get away from the summer heat and mash my face in some shaved ice (Not literally you freaks). They have an assortment of combinations and even a make-​your-​own with lots of different ingredients. It’s pretty affordable and if you have friends, share as I doubt one can finish them by themselves. Definitely lots of bang for buck.
We tend to go with the fruits (mango, strawberry) and it never disappoints. (We get ALOT of fruits) Also the family that runs it are extremely friendly and nice!
The only negative is probably the small number of tables you can actually sit at. However every time I’ve come its been pretty empty so that hasn’t been an issue for me.

For some reason, I seem to be in Arcadia only when it’s hot and miserable out. Thank god for Bin Bin konjac! They make a mean Lemon & Konjac drink. It’s really well balanced — not too sweet and not too tart (lemon drinks seem really difficult to pin down in general) and absolutely crucial for hot, sweaty days. I also like the fact they use konjac in addition to grass jelly. Konjac is chock full of fiber, which helps your body digest the mass amounts of sugar you’re likely consuming.
To top everything off, the woman who works at Bin Bin Konjac is the sweetest thing ever!!!

Good shaved ice. A little to heavy handed on the condensed milk and the syrup water.

Definitely a good option to beat the Socal sun. Full blast AC, nice seating area.

After stuffing my face at Din Tai Fung nearby, my friends and I decided to walk off the gabillion dumplings we just ate and stumbled upon Bin Bin Konjac. I wasn’t planning on getting anything (I was soooo full), but it was damn hot outside and their menu was pretty extensive (so I mentally told my digesting dumplings to make room).
I ordered the lemon slush and got it with boba. This is my go-​to drink at any boba place and surprisingly I’ve found the quality of this drink varies from place to place. I found that Bin Bin Konjac hit the mark – it was sweet, but not too sweet, with an appropriate taste of tartness. It was a refreshing drink and despite being full already, I drank the whole thing. My friends seemed equally pleased with their drinks.
Everyone working there was very friendly and polite (which doesn’t always happen at these kinds of dessert places). Definitely added to our experience.
I don’t think I’d go out of my way to come here (just because I live quite a ways away), but you can bet I’ll make room in my dumpling filled stomach next time I’m in the area.

The owners of this place are SO nice. They are just the nicest people. My friends and I wanted to get some dessert after Din Tai Fung. This was a great place to go. It’s kind of small but I would go again to support the very nice owners. :)

Great little place. They opened late for us when we came. The owners were super nice and friendly. We ordered the fruit bowl shaves ice and it was absolutely delicious with fresh mangos, kiwi, and strawberries. The only thing is that they only accept cash. So you have to be prepared for that.
Also since its Arcadia, they only open til 9:30PM :(so go early.

—taro slush: $ 4+, it automatically comes in the large sized cup… THEY USE REAL TARO, not the purple powder i’m used to! FEW places do this!
