History

Established in 2003.

I have always had a knack for seeing things from an economic and financial perspective, turning ideas into actions that help businesses and individuals achieve their goals. Ever since graduating from college, I have been applying my skills and talents to solve real world business problems.

After graduate school, I landed myself with an economic consulting firm where I advised businesses and attorneys on investments, acquisitions, and accounting issues. At the firm I developed a reputation for a relentless drive and customer-​focused approach. From there I took what I learned and used it for the benefits of the largest financial institutions. Because of my quantitative background and superb analytical skills, I was asked to solve the most intractable accounting issues, often the kind that received the most scrutiny and might have even failed audits before.

Business Owner

Anthony Mak is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of California and a charter holder of the prestigious CFA Institute. He has practiced accounting and worked as a financial analyst for over 10 years. Anthony excels at using a multi-​faceted approach to solving business problems. Clients who have used him were often surprised by the breadth and depth of his knowledge spanning across multiple disciplines. Most important, Anthony’s expertise brought effective solutions to his clients.

Anthony earned his BA in statistics from UC Berkeley and an MA from UC Santa Barbara. He currently serves as an expert with the CFA Society of Los Angeles and heads their Asia Pacific community of interest group. As a way of giving back, he also teaches accounting at UCLA Extension.

When not studying economics, investing, or accounting, Anthony enjoys skiing, sailing, climbing, backpacking, borseback riding, swimming, and traveling.
