Seascape Resort features 285 suites and villas, 17,000 square feet of meeting space, 13 conference rooms, Sanderlings Restaurant, an 18-​hole championship golf course, an outdoor pool, 12 tennis courts, fitness center, kids club and a day spa. History

Established in 2001.

Seascape Beach Resort first opened in 1993 as a conference center and resort. The main building included the conference center, Sanderlings Restaurant, and 84 deluxe studios and one bedroom suites. The second phase (North Phase) was completed in 1996 and includes 80 two-​bedroom beach villas. The final phase (South Phase) was completed in 1998 and includes 111 two-​bedroom beach villas and 10 spa suites. Today Seascape Beach Resort is known as Monterey Bay’s only 4-​diamond beach resort, providing the appeal of a private beach house, but with the added amenities of a four-​diamond resort.

It is a nice place quite clean overall well kept and right next to the ocean which I like. Nice swimming pool and hot tub and nice trails leading to the beach. Walked quite far on the beach and it is very clean.
Why only 3 stars then? I guess everything is relative and based on expectations. After checking it out and all the hype I had higher expectations. Such as more luxurious more activities more things to do and warmer overall. And I am not referring to temperature.

I’ve been coming to Seascape since I was a kid.
Love this place.
It’s right on the beach, never gets too crowded, nice pools, landscaping and facilities.
They have golf carts that take you to different parts of the resort including the path down to the beach. The beach is really well kept. Not a lot of drift wood or seaweed clumps up the beach so you can freely walk or run on the shoreline. There’s private bon fire areas where you can cook up some smores or chill.
The rooms are all very nice. open, spacious, beautiful views and well kept. They are nowadays outdated, and can use some nicer things like bigger TVs, nicer countertops, and more modern feel to it.

Postcard status scenery. Seascape is my absolute favorite getaway from the hectic city life in San Jose. Located in the small town of Aptos, Seascape Beach Resort is a perfect getaway for the day or weekend. Even if you do not book a room, they do have public access to the beach. As a guest at the resort, you literally have all of the amenities of home available to you. Not only are the rooms comfortable and homey, but the resort has a tons of activities to do. From walking and enjoying the views, to getting a work out in the sports center, there’s something for everyone to do. For your convenience as well, there is a village market that has a store, coffee spot and places to eat. Overall, if you’re looking for a romantic getaway or just need to escape the hustle and bustle of the Silicon Valley, then definitely check out Seascape Beach Resort.

I wasn’t really impressed. I was here for a conference so I don’t really know what the true cost is to stay here but all in all it was just OK. The resteraunt had good food (not great) and the prices there were what I would expect for the overall quality of the food. The rooms however are very out-​date and the Internet was horrible. My biggest gripe is that the rooms do not have AC.
The views however are amazing.

This is actually a gorgeous location alongside the ocean. Depending on where you stay, you will likely have an ocean view. I came here for a conference and it can be hit or miss depending on if there’s a large venue going on or not. I could imagine guests would not have liked the noise a group of us were making at the bar.
Nonetheless, rooms are very large and start with either a room plus kitchen and fireplace. Some are suites that are multiple stories. It’s also dog friendly as I saw many dogs walking along the beach or trails which are great for running.
The views cannot be beat!

We had a large group (over 20 people) and we were scattered all over the property which made it hard to co-​ordinate activities. And even tho the beach is almost on the property, its a longer up hill walk than we expected for our elderly parents and the younger children. We finally did get a golf cart to take them back up the hill to their room. Next time we’ll go back to the large family reunion vacation rental that we found in Aptos that was closer to the beach and a level walk, where we can all be together in one home and have a private dining room that we can all cook & eat together (and hear each other talk) and save money.

Location– absolutely gorgeous. We stayed in the main hotel which we felt was easier with our toddler as it was close to the beach trail, the pool, and restaurants.
Very family friendly– it was great staying in a 1 bed room beach front room. We could put our toddler down to bed at 8pm in his crib in the separate room and then sit on the balcony with a glass of wine, listening to the waves below. So relaxing and romantic.
There is a kitchenette in the room so we could have eaten breakfast in the room each morning.
Food– went to Sanderlings once for breakfast as it’s hard to eat out with the toddler. Service was speedy and food was yummy.
Also ordered lunch by the pool one day from the bar and again found service very speedy.
Also ordered dinner from Palapas one night and ate on our balcony while watching the sun set. Very romantic and relaxing and our toddler could play with his toys on the balcony.
One night we did the beach bonfire which was really fun and was a night we will always remember.
Overall a great trip and only 1.5 hour drive from our home in the East Bay. Totally worth it.

This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. The service was poor the bed were awful and reservations were uninformed.

Ok, so now I’ve stayed here. I wouldn’t do it again. I’m used to higher class resorts. The people near us were smoking pot on the patio… smell was hard to escape. The golf carts are incredibly loud and seem to run constantly all night. People in general are VERY loud drunken types. If you’re a young 20-​something looking to party all night, you might like it. Not at all my taste.
Rooms are cheaply done. Beds are hard and squeaky.

So we are paying $ 700 for 2 nights … For that price I were expecting something amazing! This is night 1 and so far it is very disappointing … The suite is nothing special at all… We have stayed in much better rooms elsewhere for cheaper. The suite is basically «blah». The elevator we took to our floor was disgusting… Smelled terrible and the carpet was nasty. So far there is nothing about this resort that says «special». Maybe the premium pricing is because we are close to the beach.
Oh yeah … Forgot to mention that there is no AC in the room (talked to front desk… None of the rooms have AC) but the ocean breeze is cool enough so you don’t really need an AC
I should have read the Unilocal reviews before we booked our stay here because a lot of the 1, 2 and 3 star reviews have the same complaints as I do.
If you chose to stay here know that you are paying for the access to the beach and the ocean view (if you get an ocean view room). If you want a luxurious or at least somewhat special suite to stay at also this is not your spot (well at least at the price point we got it at)
Some cool things about the resort is there are golf cart rides provided to and from the beach, the beach itself is really nice, they provide bon fire supplies, in room massages, and some other stuff (of course you have to pay $$$ for it)
The stuff that bugged me … The underground garage was badly maintained, the elevator we used was gross, the on site restaurant sucked, the suites itself weren’t anything special.
So basically the premises itself if a 2 stars, the added things you can do is 3 stars and the beach is 5 stars. But since this place is so expensive I am giving it 2 stars.
I doubt we’ll be back.

This place is awesome. The staff is pleasant, food is great and the view is memorable. I stayed in a 2 bedroom villa and it was very clean and roomy. One thing you will need in the evening is a sweater or jacket due to the ocean breeze. Please if looking for some fun try Seascape you won’t be disappointed.

The views are amazing, but I expected more for the price.
PROS: Easy access to the beach, with a ride to and from on their golf carts. Friendly and helpful bell boys. We had a partial ocean view by the pool, but we felt like it was full ocean view. The room was clean, despite the outdated décor. The food was great. Quick walk to market and other restaurants. Great bonfire setup with all the fixings for s’mores. Definitely recommend. Worth the price! Just ask for extra wood. The pool and spa were clean and warm.
CONS: The beds were SO UNCOMFORTABLE. We were sore for our entire stay. It was pretty disappointing. We work hard for our money, and were looking forward to this «luxurious» getaway. Not so luxurious. The rooms are overly outdated. The shower had wallpaper that was peeling off, cobwebs and mold growing in the corner. The lighting wasn’t great. The sink in bathroom backed up.
Overall, you are paying for the convenience of beach and the amazing views. This place needs some updates. I would start with the mattresses! I won’t be back.

Well, stayed here for a night to celebrate my friend’s birthday party and first of, all I can say that this place is totally perfect and amazing! The amenities are well-​provided and couldn’t ask for more! But one thing that totally ruined the night was the person working on the front desk. Me and my friends went night swimming to the main lobby and right after that, we got off and walked by the lobby, and this hotel staff wearing «pink» on the front desk suddenly asked us the stupidest question ever. «Are you guests here?» well, ofcourse. What kind of question is that to ask in the middle of the night and the fact that we were able to use the pool & everything?! It’s so racist and really a discrimination. And hella RUDE to ask. We could have expected a friendly and nice treatment from that hotel staff but she’s just so undeserving to be working on that area!
However, I would still totally recommend this place for a getaway but I hope this review gets into the management to have their hotel staffs be trained to be «nice and friendly» and be able to do their jobs right without offending others. Other than that, It was an awesome night and this place is definitely a picture perfect!

The view is spectacular, but don’t expect too much. This is no seacliff oasis.
PROS: Great view! Easy walk to the beach. You can hear the ocean waves from your room.
Clean rooms despite the décor and furniture.
Great bell boys who take you just about everywhere in their golf carts because this place is too large to walk around all day on cliffs. They were quick to pick us up when we called.
Sunday Breakfast Buffet was excellent!
Fire pit rentals available, but limited.
2 pools and Jacuzzi. All very clean.
CONS: The rooms are overly outdated. Think 80’s standards condo style.
The beds and pillows were uncomfortable. I couldn’t sleep because it felt like bricks.
No air-​conditioning.
Lighting is mediocre in the bathrooms.
Locks on the screen doors to the patios were broken. I could not lock, but luckily I was on the 2nd floor.
Front Desk was ehh! Quick check-​in/​check-​out, but I didn’t feel wanted despite the $ 700 room night for 1 night. They could use a refresher course on customer service.

Beautiful beach resort. They have golf carts to drive you around and to the beach. There is a huge park next to the resort perfect for kids and dogs. Don’t forget to tip the drivers. The bar and restaurant is good. The drinks are well made and prices are reasonable. I had two old fashioned and they were delicious and strong. Try to come during sunset because it’s a beautiful view from the patio.

Paid over 600.00 a night for 5 people. To expensive, will never do that again. Place was clean. But so out dated and needs repairs to the rooms. Grass around the hotel was all dried up because of the drought.
Pool and Spa where clean and warm.
Shuttle to the beach was awesome.
Food was so so. Had 4 desserts cost me over 50.00. One was just cookies that look and taste like it came from a 7 – 11.
One thing that really bug me was the resort fee per day and you are tax on that. Check in is 4:00pm ck out is 11:00. Its almost like they really don’t want you to enjoy your time their.

Came here for our mini-​moon – the honeymoon before the honeymoon cause you’re out of money and days off and have to go a short drive away from San Francisco.
It was good. I’m a bit sad because I spent the most bucks that I’ve ever spent on a hotel room, and this was no Ritz Carlton. The views were fantastic, but the room was pretty average. Think dated-90’s-condo. It had a motel-​like feel.
Pool and hot tub were also fine, just nothing special outside of the view of the ocean.
Again, everything was good, but I wanted my dollars to go a bit further with this place.

I’ve been here once before and loved it! I wanted to bring my daughter here to show here a place for a wedding. We paid for a 1br villa but were upgraded to a 2br villa! The views, amazing! The place… it was privately owned and was kind of dated but still the view made it worthwhile. Then it was time to sleep…
The bed in the room with the view was by far the most uncomfortable thing I’ve laid on in my life. We both tossed and turned all night and ended up going downstairs to sleep on the floor and the couch. After a few hours we tried to go upstairs again but the bed was just too uncomfortable. We tried the second room and it was a little better but still painful to sleep on.
Before leaving I let the front desk know. They didn’t really seem to care. I said, «if this was my first time here, I’d never be back». It kept bugging me that they didn’t seem to care so I called and spoke to the manager the next day. He didn’t seem to care either. He said they’d look into it and if the bed needed replacing they’d contact the owner. No «I’m sorry.» No «here’e a free drink on your next visit».
They don’t care about my business so I guess I won’t be back. That also means they lose out on two weddings!!!

What a hidden gem in the beach town of Aptos. Although we only stayed for a night, it was a pleasurable stay. For me, it was all about the serenity of the resort grounds. You’re literally right on the beach. You have your own private beach & as a matter of fact, the beach is only allowed for Seascape guests. I also loved that they had fire pits on the beach (which have to be reserved) that they will set up seating around for you & start the fire once you’re on your way down. They also have waters & s’mores kits for sale — fun!
As far as the condos they rent, yes they’re a bit dated but they’re spacious & come equipped w/​the essentials. I liked that they had an inside fireplace & a patio that overlooks the ocean.
This is more of a family atmosphere or for a romantic weekend getaway. If you’re looking for a relaxing place to stay, this is a great option. I’ll definitely come back w/​my husband or for a family trip.
