Michael Gruber, DDS

Dr Gruber is a really good guy that takes care of his 0atiwnts and always has quality staff around him. Been going to him for years, and the only problem I ever had, a cracked filling, he took care of without charging. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Fear of dentistry out the window for now. Michael Gruber is a mix of professional and Comedy Central. He is efficient, affordable, and has a wonderful staff. I have been a patient for 10+ years, and I hope he doesn’t retire before I’m dead.

Dr. Gruber is the best! I’ve been going to him since I was a kid… so 20+ years or so now. I have lived out of the area here and there, and always go back to him when I move back. He and his staff are friendly and professional. The office is clean, and they are always on time. Highly highly highly recommend!!!

My family started going to Dr. Gruber over 25 years ago (we were all kids then, including him ;-)). He and his staff are as professional, personable and painless as anyone could want, and they’ve been together for as long as I can remember — always a good sign. Between my extended family and friends who I referred to him, there are at least 15 of us who love «Dr. Mike» and everyone in the office. Hygienists Renee and Bree take the dread out of going for cleaning. I took my 87-​yr-​old mother in to see him after she’d been worked over by a dentist in Watsonville; he gave her a thorough check and referred her to a good dentist who could take her insurance; there was no charge. The office has been in the same location all these years and you never get the feeling that you’re paying big fees to support a lavish setup; costs are always fair and reasonable.

I went to Michael Gruber’s office about 6 months ago for my first cleaning in 7 years and as you might imagine, I was very embarrassed at the condition of my teeth. Miraculously, I had no cavities but needless to say, I was long overdue for a cleaning. I had Renée do my cleaning and she was amazing. She was kind, patient and extremely considerate, making sure I felt as little pain as possible. I needed two separate appointments to finish the cleaning and I could not believe how my teeth looked afterward. I am so happy I finally did this and despite living in San Francisco now, I will keep going back to Renée for my dental needs. I also met Dr. Gruber briefly while he took a look at my X-​Rays and he seems like a great dentist.

I have been seeing Dr. Gruber for over 10 years. The staff is very friendly, easy going and pleasant. The Dental Assistants are amazing and interesting to talk with. Dr. Gruber has done an excellent job with everything I’ve had to have done including pulling teeth prior to my orthodonic work. I am moving to Ohio and am so sad to leave what has been a stable and secure connection!

I have been going to Dr. Gruber and have not ever reviewed him because I’ve never had cavities until recently. He does a great job just checking out my chops but I finally got a feel (or no feeling :)) for how well he fills teeth.
Painless, quick, and smooth. I felt nothing and he threw in a few fun jokes here and there.
I was really nervous but he perfectly numbed my mouth before he gave the injection that further numbs my mouth so I didn’t even feel that.
Every time I go here he does a great job and for my first fills (4 of them) I left feeling fine and they have held up :)

Like most Americans I know, I have a highly irrational fear of all things dentist. These include, but are not limited to:
— Drills
— Clamps
— Incompetent Dental Hygeinists
— Pale Blue Dental bibs with the gator clips
— Toothpaste with baking soda in it
— Toothbrushes
— Dental Floss (especially mint)
It’s nothing short of miraculous that I was convinced to sign up for regular 6 month cleanings and checkups considering my numerous phobias. Congratulations Dr. Gruber, you’ve succeeded, but I won’t join the dark side so easily. In preparation, for your wiley ways, I’ve given up drinking soda, bought myself a sonicare toothbrush, and taken to flossing nightly. So bring it, on, cause I’ve got nothing to fear!
In all seriousness, however, Dr. Gruber is an amazing dentist. Not only is he personable and professional, but he’s more or less pain free, and he’s chosen a really great and helpful staff, who deftly wield their dentist’s tools with skill and compassion. Also, the staff are pretty good looking, so it helps keep me distracted.
