History
Established in 1986.
Philip Buckwalter founded the firm in 1986 as a general law practice representing individuals and businesses in a wide range of matters. Nicholas Holder associated his practice with the Buckwalter firm in 2015 adding his own expertise to the firm’s tradition of accessibility. The firm now help clients to make informed decisions with expertise in three main areas: estate law, business law, and personal rights.

Business Owner
Nicholas associated his law practice with the Buckwalter firm in 2015. With a background in psychology and mental health services, Nicholas is a compassionate attorney who strives to educate his clients so they can make informed decisions about their legal options and other life and business matters. He believes attorneys and clients should work in concert to achieve the client’s goals. Nicholas often spends evenings working as a mediator for the City of San Jose, helping people settle their disagreements in a simple and amicable manner. As an attorney and advocate, Nicholas is known for his ferocious pursuit of justice for his clients. He is active on both sides of the Santa Cruz Mountains, helping clients in Santa Clara County as well as Santa Cruz and Monterey. He is in the Aptos office most days, working closely with Philip Buckwalter. He enjoys spending time with his soon-to-be wife, Vanessa, and playing recreational soccer.
