The High Adobe

My husband and I stayed at the Inn. There was an issue with the heat and there was no extra blankets. And when one was brought it was extremely thin. The bed was like sleeping on a box spring it was so hard. And then we were accused of smoking in the room when we don’t smoke so we’re having an issue getting our deposit back. Their housekeeper that stays in the Next Room smokes cigarettes in her room. And the guests on the other side of us just fought all night long. Very bad communication. We. Stayed in January and are just hearing back from them. Now were being told but if we don’t back off they’re going to charge us a $ 250 fee for smoking in there. And we don’t smoke! They are slowly renovating but it’s not worth the price.

This is my second time staying at the High adobe. As much as I want to give this place 5 starts, I simply cannot. The view can be found anywhere.
My first time here was plagued with the same issues as my present.
1. The Owners stress this is their home.
Rightfully so. But if you cannot conduct a proper business in your home, take it elsewhere. I telephoned Saturday night around 6pm. My husband and I were on a road trip returning back to the Sedona area. We had some issues with our bank while traveling and had cash in hand. We explained we would prefer to pay cash because of extenuating circumstances. Lana was accepting but weary. I gave her all our information, including the card with the issues while we traveled, asking her not to charge it but that we would pay cash. She agreed. And ran the card for a decline. Which just gave me more work with the bank as we were straightening the issue out.
When we were here 4 months ago, Lana’s husband did the cash transaction just because we had cash handy and it wasn’t a problem.
Lana went on to explain this is her home and could we please take care of it. My guess is she has had some horrid customers which makes me feel sad as this is a cute little place. My sadness quickly came to an end when she kept stressing it and made me feel as if I am an untrusted person coming to their place of business.
I didn’t want to stay the night after we finished dinner but I am very pregnant and battling a lot of morning sickness so my husband discussed with me to deal with this for the night.
2. We are always woken around 7 am by children screaming and playing.
As a Mother of 3, and presently expecting a beautiful new 1, I get that children will be children. However, in a place of business, it is unacceptable. I pay to sleep soundly until it’s my time to ready and leave. I can achieve this at any other hotel in the area. It is not an unforseen expectation in the hotel business. It is now 9am and I am hearing a father scold his children in such a barbaric manner.
Needless to say, this will be our last stay at the high adobe. These people must be high.
Thanks for your hospitality, Lana. I have no guess as to why your hotel is so empty. I just wish someone would have shared these «Isms» you try to burden your guests with before we gave you another chance.
