I love having a great Thai place in the South Metro! I go hear with the family and we all find things we like. The food is freshly prepared, the service and quick and efficient, the menu has many things to offer. We usually come here with the kids and they like more traditional«Chinese» food, but they have found things on the menu that they enjoy. The Spring Rolls are delicious, the Pad Thai is a favorite of my wife. I have tried a number of the other menu items have have never been disappointed. My daughter always gets the Red Curry, it is a great combo of sweet and spicy. The service is always great, they are quick to seat us and have been good explaining the menu items to the kids. We will continue coming back to this great Thai Restaurant!

We were visiting family in Empire, and they ordered carryout from here since they said it was so good. I got the Gai Tom Kha(lemon chicken soup) $ 10.40 — Tender chicken in coconut milk with galangal, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, straw mushrooms and lime juice. Served with rice. It was SOGOOD! I also shared a noodle dish with tofu and veggies and it was also very tasty. I’d like to try more of the food next time I visit!

On a recent trip to Apple Valley, I went to Taste of Thaiyai with a contractor I was working with because she claimed that they had the best and most authentic Thai cuisine in the Twin Cities. I had been there before and was never overly impressed, but she was so enthusiastic in her praise of Taste of Thaiyai that I couldn’t say no. Taste of Thaiyai is a relatively non-descript restaurant located in a small strip mall in Apple Valley. One of the things you notice right away when you sit down is that one wall is covered with photos of their menu offerings. This always struck me as odd. Why don’t they just put the pictures in the menu itself. Anyway, I ended up staring at the wall for a few minutes before I opted for the roast duck curry. My friend went with the Tom Yum soup. We also shared an order of spring rolls. The spring rolls were good, with a nice mix of cilantro and thai basil, noodles and shrimp. The obligatory peanut sauce hit the spot. The roast duck curry is a red curry dish, served as a coconut milk-based soup with peas and sweet basil. It comes with a mound of steamed white rice. It wasn’t exactly what I expected, but the flavorful slices of roasted duck and the thick savory bite of the red curry mixed with rice definitely put a smile on my face. My friend liked her soup, but the portion was so large that she had to take half of it home with her.(I finished all of mine…) At the end of the day, I have to admit that Taste of Thaiyai does deliver solid authentic Thai cuisine. Don’t let the strip mall atmosphere deter you from giving them a try, Enjoy!

We(husband and I) went here last night. Yay! for finding a good Thai restaurant in S Metro!(We’ve moved.) We ordered egg rolls(yum!), satay(this was my favorite of everything), pad thai, and pra Ra long song. Medium heat(as we generally do). It was good. Mmm! The satay was the best of the 4 items, it actually smelled like my memories of how Thailand smells. :) There was plenty of food; we had leftovers for lunch today and shared with our 2 boys. Our 1 y.o. liked the egg roll, and our 2 y.o. liked the egg roll, pad Thai, and loved the satay. We didn’t feel the spice level to be very spicy. The service was great! The servers were super attentive, almost hovering, and I love that they kept a pitcher of water at the table. We will definitely be back!

Good Pat See We and great atmosphere. They used Chinese broccoli in their dishes unlike most places that use regular broccoli. This is a great option in the South Metro area. I will be returning to try some of the other items on the menu. 2 dishes were plenty for the 2 of us that were sharing lunch.

I have been pleased with the food I order here. I have eaten in twice and had«to go» orders on several occasions. However, my disappointment this evening when picking up my order the young woman was not friendly(didn’t offer a hello or Thank You) and when I paid her she literally threw my change into my hand. She asked what was wrong I told her you threw the money at me and all she had to say was«Oh»!

Awesome food and quick service! Our waitress was knowledgeable about Thai cuisine and food allergies. You can order many things without MSG or with substitutions. The Vegetarian Curry is superb. The portions are big enough to share– but you won’t want to :)

There exists a mythical land called Apple Valley. Apple Valley is home of Taste of Thaiyai, the best Thai restaurant in the Twin Cities metro area. After going to the zoo, my manfriend and I went Thaiyai. We wish we were still there. **Food** 3 Appetizers and 2 Entrees. Special Spring Roll– 5⁄5. Complex layers of flavor. The cilantro and three kinds of fresh mint awakened my taste buds. Special Egg roll. 4⁄5. The best part was the crispy crust. Stuffed Squid– 3⁄5. Okay. The squid was a bit tough. Make sure you like squid if you get this dish. The entrees were EXCEPTIONAL! 5⁄5 for both. My manfriend had the duck curry. The curry was so smooth and silky. It was incredible. Very rich flavors too. He liked the duck as well. I had the bung bo. The rice noodles were swimming in a delicious sauce. The beef was nicely coated with a yellow curry sauce. I could taste the lemon grass and the sauteed onion was an excellent complement. Service: Very attentive and fast. We noticed a lot of to go orders as well. The next time we are in the mythical land of Apple Valley, we shall return to Taste of Thaiyai.

This place gets 3 F’s, fresh, fast, and fantastic! The décor of the dining room with its wall covered in pictures of their food leaves much to be desired, but that’s not what we’re here for, kids! We’re here for the super special Thai egg rolls that are out of this world, as is their vegetarian curry with tofu. I have never tasted more fresh/fried in house tofu from any other Thai place. Oh and don’t forget the pad Thai, yum yum!

Very friendly and accommodating service. Spring rolls were fresh and delish! I tried #38 with chicken. It was prepared with a smooth and creamy coconut sauce, not too sweet, with a touch of spice. I will now be craving this dish! I will be back:)

I finally had dinner inside the restaurant the other day! I ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Red Curry. Both were very delicious! The Pad Thai tasted 10x better when sitting down inside the restaurant than taking it to-go like I used to do. The servers were very friendly and the food came out less than 10 minute wait! It was definitely a good experience and the food was awesome! Try the restaurant out.

The service is extremely fast and efficient! They are so attentive you feel a little rushed. But I’m sure that’s not their intention! Food was served in mere minutes and was absolutely delicious. I ordered the laab nua and all aspects were delicious! Ordered hot and it was perfect. The spice did not overwhelm the flavor. It came with soup which was Clean and crisp tasting! DH had #67 and said it was flavorful! Thai iced tea. Yummy! I would travel there again to partake!

We’ve been here a few times and have always had a good experience. The staff/owners are extremely attentive. Service is so great. They are always very fast and friendly. Portions are HUGE and we always have more than enough to bring leftovers home. I also llive that they have sriracha on the table, so you don’t have to ask. The food is always good, but not over the top crazy special. Prices are very inexpensive. It’s in a little strip mall. We got the Pad Pak #44 with beef and Pad Khao Pod Oone #55 with pork. The bf subbed fried rice for his white rice. I love the amount and quality of veggies we received with each dish. Very good overall.

These are the original employees of Taste of Thailand restaurant in East St Paul off of White Bear Ave and 94. They brought the traditional recipes and made sure to increase the level of service. I love this place. You can guaranty the food is going to be good every time you come here. I always buy the Chicken Curry and the Chicken Curry Fried Rice. The special egg rolls are delicious. I love them and unfortunately crave them a lot. I was originally scared to go there because good Thai food is hit or miss. Well when j went in I was warmly greeted by some familiar faces. The people from the East Side Taste Of Thailand was there! I immediately became excited! I know that they were the best cooks! The food is so good I go back often.
