Established in 2008.

Established in 2008, we have always serviced vehicles with OEM parts and fluids. Our commitment to quality has forced us to perform in depth research of factory fluids and the importance of using manufacturer specs in performing service and repairs. Our stock oil filter in Mahle Original which is manufactured in Austria to the German Government standard on being able to withstand 3 oil change intervals and then when being biodegradable.

Peak Auto is a locally owned family business in the Cary, N.C. Area. In May of 2008, Daran Thomas started Peak Auto to satisfy the need for a dealer alternative, car repair/​maintenance business. Reverend Fred Thomas, Daran’s father, served his country and his fellow man as a missionary7 in the Philippines for 35 years. He completed his career back here in the states working with the Billy Graham Ministry. Rev. Thomas dedicated his life to helping others live a healthier and more meaningful existence. Daran learned these lessons from his father. Although cars are not the same as souls, Daran and his team at Peak Auto take a similar approach to the well being and longevity of every vehicle that comes into the shop. Our mission is to look at your entire vehicle and its projected life. We strive to find a healthy balance between maintenance, repair, and cost. What it comes down to is Daran just really loves cars!

This place is great! Response time to my online request for a free estimate was very quick. Subsequent email communication was also very prompt. They fit me in to have my battery replaced right away. Service was excellent. Price was right. They even matched the 20% coupon offered on the battery manufactuer’s website. Waiting area awesome. Quiet, free wi-​fi, comfortable couch, and terrific beverages and snacks, including ice cream! Love this place.

I thought highly of the owner, Darren. I liked them at first. Then two mistakes were made and the other guy treated me like I was an idiot. I had my wheels balanced after the brakes were fixed. As I drove away the car began to jerk violently .5 miles away. I pulled over and called them describing what had happened. The rude guy asked me if I were on a road with ruts, that they could cause the car to jerk like that. I said I would drive a little further and come to them if it continued. Well, it did. Darren was there and they took it back instantly. When asked he explained to me that the cameras on each wheel had not been set properly. We all make mistakes. When I told my brother who lives with cars, he told me those cameras are supposed to be reset after each car. My car had been realigned to the specs of another car. This was the third of two other mistakes. One involved over tightening a bolt until it was stripped which caused yet another problem. I will not go back even though they apologized and admitted the mistakes simply because that guy did not treat me like the intelligent woman I am. I know when my car is on a bumpy or rutted road! I am not stupid!

I took my M3 into Peak to have the convertible top repaired and for a tire sensor issue. Neither were repaired.
Their customer service is what I am most disappointed in. I called at 9:15 am to report that the convertible top was stuck in a ½ open condition and I did not feel comfortable driving it until I heard back from them. I was told I would get a call right back. After sitting in a parking lot for about an hour, I realized I would not get a call. At 11:45, I was called and told to go to the trunk and crank the top down and that my husband had done this early. Why would I call them if my husband had a solution, really/​
I explain that the car had been in the shop for over a week and they should be aware that there was no crank. Then I enquired why it took two and half hours to return my call and offer no helpful information. I was told he called the wrong number and did not realize it until the woman called back and said she did not have a BMW. Think about this for a moment, you would think he may have called my husband’s number or email us. I guess I was not worth the effort as I waited for his call. He was extremely agitate that I questioned his lack of consideration for me and my time. Then, I basically got hung up on.
Busy Mom’s and working gals, I would avoid Peak Auto for anything but oil changes and believe it would be best to send your husband. They do not appear to be condensing to their male customers. There was no apology, just «anyone can make a human error» and a hang up. Poor quality work, Average auto detailing, Poor customer service.

These guys are one of two BMW shops in the Raleigh area that I trust to do good work and take care of my cars. Their oil changes always come with a 25 point inspection of your vehicle to find all that may be wrong with your car and give you a quote on the work if you don’t get done then. The oil changes also come with with a great car wash cleaning of your vehicle, so your car back looking great. My wife took our X5 in for service this past week and appreciate that they don’t try to pile on problems to increase the repairs.
Great shop if you’re in the western Raleigh/​Cary/​Apex/​Holly Springs area. My other preferred shop is in North Raleigh and they do good work as well but give loaners while they have yours, which is great for the longer term repairs so I’m not down a vehicle.
Give Peak Auto a try and let them earn your business as they did with my 330 and X5.

So glad a friend recommended Peak Auto! I will never take my Audi back to the dealership for service again.
John was very helpful in explaining what things needed to be fixed and why, what things could wait a little bit. I trust him to take good care of our cars.
And when I picked up my car, it was clean and beautiful. I’m a big fan.

I had just moved to the area and I knew I needed a few things done with my car. I had thought that MAYBE there were a few other things that could use some looking at, but I didn’t bother to mention it at the time. John took care of me really well. My only complaint was that he didn’t provide updates. I think I called 2x to get updates over the period of 2 days (one to find out pricing, another to see if it was done). That was fine, because he was responsive quickly. The BIG perk of this place for me was the loaner car. Very helpful since I had only been living in the area a few days and was starting my new job while my car was here. Anyway, John explained everything well and my car was checked out so well that they discovered the things I thought might have issues– very impressive. He even took the time to explain one fix in detail for me. I had no idea they were cleaning my car, so that was a huge surprise. Looked so nice, inside and out. I will be back to fix up those other things very soon! SO happy to find a good place to take my loved car!!!

I brought my car back and will continue doing so. They do a FANTASTIC job and wash/​vacuumthe car after just an oil change and checking my cigg lighters that aren’t working. Worth it. Also, they had one of their mechanics drive me to and from the office, so that made things SO much easier. He was very nice too. THANK YOU!!!
