Specialties
As the Triangle’s premier meal assembly kitchen, we specialize in fresh ingredients and hand-trimmed meats. We are the only independent (not a franchise) meal assembly kitchen in the area. That means we are free to create our own menus and source our own food suppliers. You can see and taste the difference!
History
Established in 2006.
The Meal Assembly concept originated on the West Coast and was first featured in Working Mother magazine in 2002. I became aware of the concept in 2004 and was immediately drawn to it. I visited a local franchise, made meals and was hooked. It was so nice to be able to make 12 meals in a short period of time, take them home to my freezer and cook them on busy nights for my family. At the time, the closest MAK to my house was a 40 minute drive away and I realized there was a need for this type of business in the Apex/Cary area. After looking into several franchises, I decided against purchasing a francise and opted to open my own independent meal assembly business — mainly so I could have complete control of the menu and food suppliers. We opened in July 2006, on my birthday, and quickly earned a reputation as the «best meal assembly business.» This became «official» this year when we won Cary Magazine’s 2009 Maggy Award for «Best Place to Assemble Meals.»
