Damien Maass DJ & Video Service

I was so lucky to find Damien while planning one of my first big events ever. Though I never heard of him before I was referred by a trusted source and was sure he’s do a great job. I’ve now hired Damien several times for my events and he is awesome. I can’t say enough great things about him. He is extremely professional and easy to work with. I can always count on him to be there on time and to show our crowd a good time.
Without much direction at all he can feel out the crowd and play some great music to get the folks on the dance floor. I’ve never used his video services but have noted it for future events. Most of my events range from 500 to 700 people and a DJ is such an important part of the evening. There is nothing that makes me happier then seeing people enjoying the tunes and having a good time.
Whatever you need just ask and I’m sure Damien can make it happen. I’ve hired other DJ’s in town and have had some never even show up for events. Damien is at the top of my list and I look forward to working with him on more events in the future.

Damien was awesome and my new husband and I were so happy that we selected him as our wedding DJ! He was extremely friendly, easy to work with, and very responsive to all of our emails and questions. He also made great suggestions when we spoke with him on the phone during our planning session, and was also very flexible with us (we made some changes to our preferred songs a couple days before the wedding, he incorporated requests into the song queue, etc.).
Most importantly, he kept the party going all night! Our dance floor was packed until the last song of the evening, and guests were even spilling into the hallways and dining area to dance. He accommodated all of our requests, did a great job improvising, and kept our reception moving along right on schedule. He played a perfect mix of both classic and new songs that kept everyone on the floor. We had several friends and family members of all ages tell us that the great music helped make it the most fun reception they’ve ever attended, and even requested our «playlist.» This energy carried over into a great «after party» after our guests left the reception venue.
I would absolutely recommend Damien to anyone seeking a DJ in the Raleigh-​Durham area!

This review is really in two parts because we hired Damien as both our DJ and Videographer. First, let us just say that Damien was our obvious choice after our initial meeting. He is a lot of fun but also very professional and clearly knows what he is doing. Everything about working with Damien as a DJ was very streamlined. They say that the DJ is a «director» of the reception and Damien works hard to put all the options on the table for you, but not overwhelm you. His online ‘play list’ and ‘do not play list’ were extensive and easy to manage, and he made sure those things ran smoothly on our wedding day. Also, even on the wedding day nothing has to be set in stone, as we changed our minds about a parent dance on the wedding day and it was no problem. It was so nice to have a DJ who really helped make the wedding day all about us! Everything went perfectly and Damien kept the mood fun and got people up and dancing. Everyone had a wonderful time. We could not be more enthusiastic to recommend Damien as a DJ for your special day.
As a videographer Damien was similarly excellent. He had an extra cameraman for work at the Chapel and because Damien was DJing the reception, his extra crew member then filmed the reception. Being followed around by cameras takes a little getting used to, but everyone was professional, nice, and unobtrusive. Rather than a complete video documentary of the wedding day, he put together a 20 minute «highlights» video which was perfect. It was really fun to sit down and re-​live the wedding day a little and the length and tempo of the video means we will likely watch it more than just a few times. We could not have asked for a better Wedding Day and much of that is due to the people who brought everything together. Damien did a fantastic job and we would highly recommend him for both DJ and Videography services.

We had the pleasure of working with Damien not only as our DJ but he also created a beautiful wedding DVD for us. He was professional, has years of experience and did exactly what I wanted. I wanted a fun wedding with a lot of dancing and he got everyone on the dance floor all night! Damien also provided his videography services. The video was amazing and truly captured our special day. Pictures are always nice but to have a video of our day from start to finish was perfect. I would highly recommend Damien for both services. We were extremely pleased and he truly made our day so much more special. Damien was by far one of our best wedding vendors we used! Thanks again for everything!

Finding a DJ was one of the things I was most stressed about for our wedding. We were on a super tight budget, but I knew the DJ was extremely important. Not only does the music set the tone, but the DJ is the one who controls the flow of your event. I wanted someone with personality that wouldn’t be over the top or cheesy. Damien was PERFECT. He really listened to what we were looking for and was able to play fun, modern music that kept people dancing without offending the older crowd (like my conservative grandfather). The evening flowed perfectly and we had many compliments from guests on our music. His website is awesome and I loved that we could easily select songs for our playlist (or do not play list!), save it, then log in later once we thought of more stuff. Finally, he was very reasonably priced– who could ask for more? I HIGHLY recommend him!!!

As the Entertainment Director for the Yorktown Grange Fair, it has been my pleasure to work with Damien Maass for more than 10 years. The fair is an annual 4-​day event, with an attendance in excess of 20,000. The Grange Fair Association is a not-​for-​profit, charitable organization. The fair is our only fundraiser. Damien plays the pivotal role of emcee for the event, keeping fair goers apprised of the various activities throughout the fairgrounds. As such, he is an integral part of the event
and an important representative of the fair management to the general public.
Always reliable and professional, Damien is also personable, accommodating and cooperative. Whether announcing a livestock event, introducing a rock band, or responding to one of the inevitable emergencies at such a large event, he discharges his responsibilities with the appropriate tone and manner.
The finale of the event is the Produce Auction, a major fundraiser for the organization. In his role as auctioneer, Damien brings the event to life with good humor and enthusiasm. By remembering the frequent bidders personally from year-​to-​year he creates a warm and friendly atmosphere that is conducive to success.

Damien DJ’d my brother’s wedding in Cary, NC. Damien was a pleasure to work with. The price was right and he did a phenomenal job. He threw in the ceremony music with the DJ package, brought his own lights, took requests and even created a 5 minute hightlights video (which was not included and had not even been discussed). He is very responsive as well. I highly recommend Damien for your wedding or event. He helped to create the best wedding that I have ever attended!
