History

Established in 1987.

Jay Barker started in the locksmith business as an apprentice in 1978. Barker’s Lock Service was established in 1987 as a Residential, Commercial, & Vehicle locksmith business with a focus on the Vehicle aspect of the industry. Barker’s Lock Service now specializes in vehicle keys and locksmith service, exclusively. We make vehicle keys and service locks that the competition can’t or won’t. Jay Barker was the very first and is currently one of only two locksmiths in North Carolina to have earned the Certified Automotive Locksmith designation from the Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA). There are less than 200 CAL’s in the entire world at this time. Jay is also an automotive locksmith instructor and travels across the United States teaching his craft to other locksmiths.
