My fiancé and I decided to stop in at this Mexican restaurant with not much expectation, but we were met with friendly staff and enjoyed some excellent tableside guacamole while waiting for our meal. The salsa was medicore, but still good. I tend to like a little spicier salsa. My lady had the Mexican tacos and raved about how delicious they were. I had the tenderloin, vegetable mix and the meat was very flavorful and extremely tender. The ambiance was simple and the other patrons were friendly and welcoming. Tip: the tenderloin only came with two tortillas with the meal so be sure and ask for more upfront. The rest of the portions were plentiful. We will definitely stop back in on our next pass through.

The fried cheesecake is a nightmare. If avoid that like the plague. Other than that, it’s a great place to grab some enchiladas or a burrito and just chill. It’s not what I’d call authentic, but after you’ve had really good authentic Mexican food it’s hard to compare. For Americanized versions it’s great though.

long day slugging down in the rain: 5 of 7 hours in a series of downpours with frequent bouts of zero visibility. got into Antlers about half past dead and twice past hungry. Young fellow at the gas-o-rama suggested this place for mexican telling me «go back to the red light, then at the next one turn left and it’s on your left. best mexican in town» greeted by a happy smiling hostess who returned shortly with basket of tortillas and some salsa picante. chips were light and crispy and crunchy and the salsa was pleasantly picante. after correctly assessing my state of near exhaustion kate suggested the sopes w/fajita beefs and I went with that. a few minutes later a nice plate of food showed up looking and tasting quite good. thick sliced beefs covered with onions and peppers, lettuce and tomatoes, with chunks of avocado and a dollop of sour cream on each of three flour tortilla pillows accompanied by rice and beans. coldy cold modello especial in a chilled salt rimmed marg’ glass was a fitting beverage.

We ate there and was delighted to find out that the owners of this Mexican restaurant are actually from Mexico. That being said they have the traditional Tex-Mex menu and then A variety of authentic Mexican dishes to choose from. I’ve eaten there several times the service is always prompt and friendly the restaurant is clean with a nice atmosphere and the food is always fresh and cooked to perfection.

Food is okay, portions are on the smaller side. The waiter we had was aweful, not attentive at all. I would not stop again but in a small town you don’t have much choice, I guess.

Almost an hour of waiting still no food! Drinks with no straws. Out of chips. People waiting to pay their bill. No organization what so ever! Meeting someone here for a visit. Otherwise I would have left awhile ago. Hour plus. We paid for our drinks and chips and left. 3 times 3 different girls asked if everything was ok. We told them we had not received our food. They left and never returned to let us know if it was on the way or not.

Standard tex mex. Huge menu, attentive staff. Beef chimichanga wasn’t terrible. Chips and salsa were good too.

Our fajitas was wonderful. It was on the lunch special but was big enough for two people.
