Specialties

PYXELography Digital Imaging Services is about more than taking or making pictures, anyone can do that by pointing the camera and pressing. Do it enough times and with luck you will get a good shot. Our goal is to capture life as it happens in such a way that the viewer relives that moment every time they view the photo. Success requires a greater understanding about what to point the camera at, how to point the camera, where to put the camera and when to push the button so that you are successful every time, not lucky. One of the goals of PYXELography is to move beyond taking or make photos because you are restricted to only being an observer of a scene, we strive to «kreate» images which allows us to step into the scene and alter it and kreate a new scene based on your clients desires or present what we see, in that scene.

History

Established in 2007.

I picked up photography as a hobby in 1985 and quickly fell in love that love lead to a better understanding of the different capture options as well as the various development methods. That growth and development shifted when I transitioned to the digital world and quickly learned that (a) that many of the rules of film did not apply to digital; (b) many of the processes found in film could be applied in digital and © the ability to blend the past with the present was available to me. That blending is at the heart of what we do at PYXELography where every «pixel», the building block of every image is examined and altered, as needed to create the image we desire. We are NOT concerned capturing the perfect picture in the camera, that is a film era mindset. We focus on capturing the «essence of the scene» in the highest quality when we release the shutter then use that scene to kreate what you want through the world of digital editing by altering the pyxels in the captured scene.

Meet the Business Owner

Dallas A.

Business Owner

I am a man of many trades but with respect to photography I am the master of one. I have developed the ability to be visibly invisible while covering an event. Our most prized and loved images are not the posed portraits but those moments in time when we are who we are. Capturing those moments becomes impossible when a person see’s the camera or photographer.

I have mastered the ability of being recognized but not noticed at the right time which allows me to capture those precious moments.

I am by and large self taught however I have taken a host of classes on the basics of photography as well as many advanced techniques in capturing a scene, lighting a scene, posing a subject, etc. and being a perpetual student I continue seek out knowledge, wherever it can be found.

I have been honored to have my work used by the Trumpet magazine which is distributed nationally and internationally by Mt. Zion Baptist church of Nashville TN; I have won awards in military
