I eye Peter Piper Donuts on the corner of Contra Loma Blvd. and St Francis Drive often as I round the corner onto Contra Loma. The thing that usually stops me from visiting are the hours. 5AM — 1PM daily. Well, after coming by a few times now, I can tell you this place is legit. Directly to the right when you walk in, there are several trays of fresh made donuts, croissants, danishes, and mini pound cake loaves. Straight ahead to the rear of the shop is two full size beverage coolers stocked full of a wide assortment of beverages from juices to pre-made coffees, to water, sodas, etc… They have croissant breakfast sandwiches filled with Ham and Cheese(some have jalapeño too!) that they will heat in the warmer. A YUMMY option for anyone in need of a quick breakfast togo meal before hitting Highway 4. There are a few small tables and chairs along with a friendly and kind staff. On my most recent visit I came in about 20 minutes before closing and the lady gave me a free maple donut. While I wasn’t a fan of my freebie, it was a little dry, I did like everything else we chose. But, never-the-less, it was the thought that counts and earns extra points in my book! So to wrap things up, my favorites — Cheese danish — Fresh and yummy. Crumb donuts(CAKEVARIETY) — oh yes, moist! Blueberry — pretty good and has a nice glaze. Breakfast croissants — They are very good — ask for it warmed!

Some of the best donuts I’ve had yet. Someone here knows what they are doing. The sugar glaze is buttery with a hint of salt. Very well balanced donuts. Almost too sweet, but not quite, maybe if I was eating them all day it’d become grating. Really though, I was very impressed and would give 5 stars if it didn’t have such a shabby interior and horrible hours. They close at 1pm! Which I’m sure is common for many bakeries and donut shops, but it still sucks!

Love love love this shop! Absolutely always the freshest best fluffiest donuts ever. It is a dad mom and daughter who run it and they are very nice. They just recently started accepting card which is nice also!

THE best donuts that you will find! I am a donut fanatic and these are absolute perfection. Light without lacking substance(like Krispy Kreme), but not overly heavy and saturated. Great, friendly service too!

Love this shop! I’ve been here for many years and it’s a cute family owned donut shop. The owners are extremely sweet and the donuts are soooo yummy! My favorite is the ham and cheese croissant!

Peter Piper sells just donuts and coffee that i could see. Not much of a fan of donuts so just got a coffee drink:(m)french roast coffee(affel?). 1.55 other choices in thermos: hazelnut, vanilla nut –coffee a bit harsh, kept me awake at least. –not a lot of coffee taste, 2.5 stars.

This place has some the yummiest donuts I’ve had the pleasure of tasting. Its family owned and run. Customer service is awesome. On one of my first visits I didn’t realize its cash only. I had made a pretty large order and the lady informed me cash only. She offered to let me pay the next day. It was humbling to know she would put that trust in me. Like promised I showed up next day and paid what was owed and left a sizable tip. Not a whole lot of places do that for customers. I only subtracted a star due to the best stuff runs out early, otherwise highly recommended for donut lovers!

Very good donuts. My only issue is they run out of the popular ones by 9am on the weekends. Stock more donuts and I’d give them 4 stars.
