We were over here trying to find the new library that we realized was on the backend of the mall. I honestly didn’t know the mall was still open. You can’t really call it a mall, it’s more of an abandoned mall with about 10 stores in it. I’m also not really sure why it’s called Global Mall at the Crossings. I realize they’ve got a bunch of different flags hanging around, but the majority of the stores & food in the food court is Hispanic in nature. Even the large market is mainly Hispanic food. I’ve no issue with that, it’s just a little misleading to name it ‘global’. Even the signs in the windows of the stores are in Spanish. The main store in the mall is the Global Market. It’s a nice, clean international market that would be great if it had some more Asian items. The other store in the mall is a fun time kind of kids party place. Looks like a low rent Dave & Busters, but the kinds looked like they were enjoying it. They’ve got an Electronic Express, or at least the sign to one with someone selling some computers electronics inside. Other than that, they’ve got some different dress stores, a couple Hispanic candy stores that sell piñatas and some areas with event space on the windows. By looks of it, you’re able to rent out different sized areas in the mall to have«weddings, Quinceañeras, birthdays & more». I’m honestly not sure how much longer this place will be open. We saw about 30 people in the mall on a Sunday, a day that should be busy. The owners bought the mall for 1 million bucks, which is about a dollar a square foot. From the looks of the floors which were dirty, the nonfunctional escalators & tons of store fronts with blank tarps over them, this place will be closed again soon.

This mall has a few gems, but is mostly empty and creepy. and cold. I asked myself why any business would be here. After speaking with many of the existing businesses, I found some interesting information. This mall was bought by deceptive people who are not informed on how to run a mall. Incompetence abounds, but the worst part is the sleazy manner in which they gained the few tenants that they now have. They lied and misled potential tenants by claiming that 80 percent of the mall was about to be rented out and they were just waiting for all these businesses to move in. They even had«coming soon» signs on many of the stores. The tenants who fell for this scam are stuck in contracts for several years. This is fraud, but since the promises were not made in writing, the tenants have no legal recourse. They must wait out their tenancy. So this is a warning to business owners; do not rent from these sleazy, incompetent liars. Take your business elsewhere.

Hickory Hollow Mall review 1.14.15 Data field 1: This mall used to be a decent mall when I went there back in 2006. Had a decent selection of shops but no where near opry mills mall. Was a good place for a quiet sunday or something tho as a calmer place to shop. Data field 2: It’s shocking to see this mall sold for just 1 million dollars! That’s only 1 dollar per sq ft which is unheardof in the commercial real estate biz! Most props are like 7 – 20! Glad to see the daycare is doing good it’s the only lively place there. Data field 3: Let’s hope the walking dead film people give the owner lots of money for the leasing of the entire dead space(pun intended) to bring this mall at least back to… life?

The mall is a ghost town. A massive mall with no stores. I felt like the apocalypse happened.

Went a couple months back and it was certainly an experience. ¾−4/5th of the stores were vacant and emtpy, and the mall was pretty dark inside too which made it seem even more creepy. The majority of stores inside were a bit strange selling mostly clothing with store names Id never heard of or seen before. A few of the stores were seemingly run by children as well which Im sure is against the law. I could tell they dont get much business since a few of the kids who were playing in the store when we walked in, told the others to be quiet and got all excited they finally had customers while one ran behind the counter to get on the register. Kind of messed up…

This entire«Global Mall» fiasco is nothing but dust in the wind. The mall was purchased in the summer of 2012 for a whopping 1 million dollars(Dr. Evil pinky gesture) by some Indian doctors. They seem to have a positive outlook on the mall’s future, yet it also appears like nobody seems to know either what to do to make this place appealing again or how to get serious about it. First of all, when you go in you immediately notice the place is as empty as Hickory Hollow was when it closed. Where exactly is the progress here? Yes, there are a handful of small shops that have opened back up, but still: most of them I saw were either open with nobody there or with someone there, but no shoppers. The parking lots remain very empty. An advertising point of the new mall is their so-called entertainment center, Global Fun n’ Food. I checked out that area and wow, they probably had at most about a dozen random cranes/redemption machines. The redemption card computer wasn’t working at all, so evidently you couldn’t even spend money. The pizza on the«bar» looked stale and unappetizing. What a terrible attempt to compete with Chuck E. Cheese, which is literally right across the street from the mall. Some of the original anchors have already been repurposed; for example Nashville State Community College has a remote campus, and there is supposed to be a big library/outdoor community center in the works for another space. The old Macy’s spot is still available for lease. Not to mention there is supposed to be a big hockey rink or something as part of a deal with the city of Nashville. Honestly I wish I could say the mall is seeing a better future than what’s been in the past 15 or so years, but I can’t. It’s obvious that these new owners have absolutely no idea how to run a mall. They are trying way too hard to bring people in, trying to do too many different things with one building. If they modified the building to be more of an outdoor space and focused mainly on retail stores again, while assuring maximum security then yes, it might possibly work again. But this operation is simply way off base; they are doing too many things and putting too little effort into those little projects. Give us something special that nobody else nearby has, and it could possibly, hopefully, be enough of a hit to not remain a dead, creepy experience. Avoid at all costs.
