Blue Star Heating & Air-Conditioning

I had Blue Star come out again — this time to recharge my AC unit. There was a mix up on the appointment time, but rather than blow me off and reschedule, Sabrina (office manager) went totally out of the way to still hook me up with the tech on the same day. Jeff (the owner) showed up, checked out the system, recharged it and got the system blowing cold in no time at all– all while carrying on a conversation with me and playing with my dog. I now feel ready for the hot summer that is lurking around the corner. Thanks, Jeff and Sabrina, you two rock!

PLEASE READ THIS;
After dealing with the 2 Previous years of triple digit temperatures and dealing with a Constant broken Ac unit. My Family and I saved enough to have our Ac unit and furnace replaced this year with New ones.
So, it was imperative that I would find exactly what we needed for my 3,000 sf home to replace our 25year old Ac Unit and furnace.
Again we didn’t have an enormous amount of Money, but I did get an estimate the last time we had another Ac repair company (not Blue Star) who came to service our home for lack of freon.
With that estimate I had a Ball Park of how much it was going to cost me.
Within the following Winter months of 2015 – 2016, I researched all the Top Hvac Companies that I found on Unilocal that had the Best ratings and reviews, again there is a Handful of Hvac Companies that have Good ratings of Reviews.
I set up the times each company would come in and evaluate our Ac unit and furnace and give their estimate of how much it would cost us to have them replaced.
Each of the Hvac Companies came and gave their estimates which lasted about 10 minutes and each estimate I was given were pretty much the same in cost.
But, their services were different, One Company told me that I didn’t need a permit and another Company told me that they would not work on my Air ducts and they would be using my existing Freon lines and Power box and they would only swap in a New Ac unit and Furnace for the old ones.
Not feeling Comfortable with any of the Hvac Companies I got an estimate from, by the Grace of God I found enough patience to call two more Hvac Companies for an estimate.
This Time I called Blue Star and a another Hvac Company. I scheduled the Hvac companies to come on the same day, one right after the other.
Jeff (Owner) of Blue Star came and began his evaluation, I was first impressed with his Energy and then he throughly investigated everything that had to do with my Ac unit and Furnace. Jeff checked out my Power lines and Freon lines. He explained that he would get the permits from the city and also register my New units so my warranty would be active. I told him my concerns of constantly having my freon filled every year and I may have a leak, Jeff assured me that he would also replace my Copper freon lines, work on my air ducts, replace my power box and cables, replace my Control box, put in a new vent covering from the return air vent,
And he presented a photo of his previous work his company has done.
At this point Jeff was at my house for about an Hour. He also gave me Pamphlets of my New Ac unit and Furnace. Jeff explained that his evaluation was not an Estimate but a quote and signed.
Jeff was the only one who actually wrote down every service he would do and the Price I would have to pay.
And to my Surprise and Amazement it was the Lowest Estimate/​Quote I received from
Any other Hvac Company.
Jeff also explained that I would not pay anything until the City inspector and the H.E.R.S. Testers came and gave their thumbs up on the work Blue Star have done.
At that moment I knew I found my Hvac Company. In the following days Blue Star came and did exactly what Was written on the service sheet and more,
They even put new Smoke Alarms in each room and 2 Carbon detectors in my home included in my price. Blue Star went beyond my Expectations.
I know it’s a Headache on who to trust and if the service will be exact as each Hvac Company claim and what their attitude will be when they do come.
I’m telling you, Don’t waste your time With anyone else, I’m pretty sure each Hvac Company are Skilled in their trade. But I have never experienced the Service I have Gotten from Blue Star or in the years that I may have lost hope in anyone taking Pride in their workmanship, Blue Star gave that back to me.
Do yourself Good and call them.

I am very pleased with my experience with Blue Star HVAC.
Sabrina answered my call promptly and professionally. I told her my AC was not working and she had a tech come to look at it the same day.
The tech Joe came out promptly to asess our situation. He was very professional and courteous. Turns out we did not have an AC issue but an electrical issue and are in need of a new breaker box. I am very pleased with Blue Stars policy of if they dont fix your problem, you dont have to pay ANYTHING! I highly recommend calling Blue Star for all your heating and air conditioning needs!

I called three firms to review irritating rumble in my 18 year old Concord furnace. The first wanted $ 125 to send someone out plus T&M charges after arrival (forget dat!); the second charged me $ 65 on a mass mailed couipon to allegedly inspect and adjust 20-​some items. They did nothing and after 60 seconds of a glance at the system bad mouthed the condition of my system and try to sell me a new one (forget dat2!).
Jeff came out for a free estimate, gave me a bid to replace a motor but cautioned against it until further justification was determined. While here he noticed an inefficient setting in blower speed that had existed for some time from prior work of others, changed that with an option setting for free, and I had him install a new thermostat that I had intended to install myself but got over my head, and charged me $ 100 for that work — more than a fair deal.
When this system needs replacement I’ll call them!

I have known Jeff and his crew for 5 years and they are wonderful. They show up in a timely manner and are very polite. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing work done on their hvac systems. I cannot recommend then enough A++ service.

I met Jeff when he started his company a few years ago. I was one of his first customers and have been using him ever since because of his honesty and reliability. I just recently had his team install an HVAC system and duct work in my personal residence and I am extremely pleased with the result. My parents are in there 80’s and 3 weeks ago when it got cold, their furnace would not come on. The first place we called said that the furnace motor was leaking oil and repairs would be about $ 3,000 and probably only last 1 year. They then quoted $ 17,000 for a new system.
This raised flags in my mind since my parent’s system is not that old so I did some research and I was referred to Blue Star from a fellow HVAC contractor who a general contractor friend of mine knows. Blue Star is absolutely top notch. Blue Star has my parents system working again for $ 875!!! We saved a ton of money! There was also a huge difference between the first company and Blue Star. The first company spent about 15 minutes diagnosing the problem before saying they would send their next guy out to talk about repair or replace quotes. Blue Star, on the other hand was very thorough. They ran an hours worth of tests on the system and figured out what was really wrong. There was no oil leak, by the way. Joe, the man who came out was on time, friendly, and great to work with!
2 parts were ordered and installed and the furnace works great. By the way, before leaving, Blue Star also checked all of my parents vents to make sure they were getting air flow. Some rooms showed low flow so they checked this out and also fixed a vent connection. I highly recommend Blue Star Heating & Air-​Conditioning! Blue Star’s slogan on their truck says «No fix, no pay» and indeed, they didn’t charge us a cent until everything was fixed! Way to go Blue Star!!! So nice to find an honest company that doesn’t try to take advantage of seniors. Thanks so much, Blue Star!!!

Our 13 year old air conditioner stopped blowing cool air on a very hot weekend. After not getting a return call from another so-​called 5 star rated company on Unilocal,I contacted Blue Star. My experience with this company was great from beginning to end. Not only did they answer the phone, but they were very friendly on the phone (and in person). They were able to schedule an end of the day appointment. Jeff came out and figured out the problem quickly and was able to repair our unit within 30 minutes or so. He even showed my hubby how to «properly» change the air filter. I can tell that they value their customers. Thanks so much for the great service, Blue Star :-).

Really wanted the chance to confirm the other positive reviews, but after three attempts/​messages I was never called back. What a waste of time.

I run my own property management company in the Bay Area called M&M Property Management. I use Blue Star Heating and Air conditioning for most if ALL of our HVAC needs in our over 100 properties we manage. Jeff is one of the nicest people to deal with. He always answers! he always gets the job done in a timely manner and I can always depend on him. He’s trust worthy and extremely knowledgable in regards to what he does and he does it well! I highly recommend Blue Star Heating and Air and I refer them frequently.

I have known Jeff, the owner, for years through the Antioch Chamber of Commerce, and when my air conditioner or heater goes out, I call on him.
As everyone knows, when it is hot, that’s when air conditioning companies are the busiest. The air conditioner went out at one of my rentals during one first week in July when 108 degrees was the norm. I wasn’t expecting same day or even same week service after reading friends who where having a hard time getting appointments for their broken air conditioners. However, when I called Jeff he was amazing. First he told me over the phone what to check to make sure that it wasn’t something I could fix (check filter, breaker switch). Unfortunately, it didn’t work, so I called him in that afternoon thinking it would be the following week before he could get over. He offered to come as his final appointment of the day. He quickly figured out the problem (motherboard) and fortunately had one on hand. Fixed and running within ½ hour.

Blue star gets 5 emphatic stars in my book! Jeff has done work in my office, most recently when my heater stopped working. My landlord sent him out and Jeff quickly found the root cause of the problem. He was in and out in under a half-​hour. He also changed the filter for me. I was impressed with the entire experience.

We just had Jeff and his crew install a new heater and air conditioner in our home and we were very happy with his quote, his service and his follow through. His guys were very pleasant, courteous and clean. The job was done on time and he took care of all the permits and appointments with the inspectors. We passed with flying colors and are now enjoying our new furnace. We would highly recommend Jeff and his crew. :-)

Jeff handled the difficult task of finding a leak and then recharging my system where it worked fine. Another time he rewired a new part into the A/​C unit and fixed that. Jeff’s prices are totally reasonable and he has given me prompt service each time. I would recommend Jeff and Blue Star to anyone.

Blue Star is the best heating and air company I’ve ever dealt with, our furnace stopped working, it went out early in the week but unfortunately I needed someone to come out on Saturday because of my work schedule, I called Blue Star on Saturday because of the great reviews on Unilocal and Google, I’m glad I did, spoke with the owner Jeff who was currently on a job, he didn’t think he could come out because of his busy schedule, but said he could try to squeeze me later in the afternoon. He was able to get to my house to check out the furnace and diagnose the problem immediately. I asked him if the unit would need to be replaced since the year earlier another company informed me because of the age of the unit, it would eventually need to be replaced, they normally last for 20 years, so this would make it exactly 20 years. Jeff told me that this unit is in good condition and just needed a part installed, he could have pulled a fast one and inform me that the furnace would need to be replaced, but he told me everything about our furnace, what was wrong with it, what parts would need to be replaced and if I did need to replace the unit how much it would cost. Luckily it was just a part, not the whole unit. This is truly a great company, owned by a great and honest individual, will use this company for all my HVAC needs. Hey, this company is truly «on it.» I had a heater fan that wouldn’t turn off! They came on time to the appointment made, inspected, told me exactly how much I would need to pay to have it repaired, which required the replacement of a computer board. After my agreement to a guaranteed price it was fixed in only a short time. It is now about two weeks later and the malfunction has not repeated, so I can definitely say they did what was promised. They had to work over my new light colored carpet, and not a spot or speck was left behind. My technician was «Jeff» who is very interested in what my concerns were. Thanks for doing the work without me having to take out a second mortgage on my home!

Our 25 year old A/​C finally gave out. We were concerned about the cost of replacing it. We called one company that my father in law used for many years, only to have them not show up for the appointment! When we called the company back they made lots of excuses… I told them to take a hike and called BLUE STAR!
Jeff came out, arriving ON TIME, reviewed our existing system and told us about every aspect of what we could afford and how it would improve our home. After he left it didn’t take long for us to call him back and schedule an install!
Jeff and his team are superior in customer service, friendliness and fast, professional work! I would recommend Jeff and his team to everyone! Great price, great service! They can’t be beat!
