Who would have thought that one of my favorite restaurants would be on Main Street in Ansonia. I love copper city. I have been here 3 times now and I have to say everything I’ve tried on the menu has been excellent, from the meatballs to the beef tips, to the rigatoni, to one of the most delicious salads I’ve ever had. I have yet to be disappointed by anything on the menu. The drinks are good , The staff is super friendly, the bartender is awesome. It’s very casual and there is plenty of parking right across the street. If you haven’t been here yet, you need to give it a try, you won’t be disappointed !

Awesome restaurant, great service, every time. This is our go-to place when we can get out, with or without the kids.

Great little place! Love their burgers and sweet potato fries!!! Really enjoyed the mussel pot, classic flavor, too!!! Good selection of beers on tap and chill atmosphere. It did get a bit smokey from the kitchen at one point but no big deal! Will def go back

What a treat! We had lunch as our first visit and were very pleasantly surprised. As vegetarians we check out menus before we go anywhere new and were a little disappointed to see two choices were gone. But the vegetarian spring rolls helped make up for it. This would have been a meal for me if I had known the size. They were fresh, crispy, and the dipping sauce was delicious. The veggie burger was unlike anything we had ever had — in a very good way. It was very flavorful and the string fries were crisp and fresh. The décor is very nice as well, although it was a little chilly. Our waitress was also the bartender, but our service was still excellent. We will definitely be back.

Looks nice from the outside and very nice from the inside… BUT…when we walked in I saw another table seated and everyone had their coat on. No wonder, it was freezing in there.(Was the heat even on?) This was after the warm weather had passed. Just one table with people inside for lunch but it took forever for the waitress to come over to our table(we sat ourselves). Finally we got our drink order in. As for the food… had never been there before and did not realize there was an 8oz burger and a 4oz. burger. We didn’t specify a size. The waitress never asked us what size we wanted, so after waiting close to 40 minutes for two burgers, we ended up with two 4oz burgers that could not be seen with the naked eye. Nice roll sandwich with lettuce and tomato on it. I THINKSHESHOULDHAVEASKEDUSWHATSIZEBURGERWEWANTED, JUSTTOBESURETHATISREALLYWHATWEWANTED. There is also a little thing like charging a $ 1 each for any extras, such as cheese, onion, etc. So we paid about $ 10 for a burger that was the size of maybe one patty of a Big Mac. Maybe they do that to make more money off the smaller burger, I don’t know. We ended up in there for an hour for a lunch of burgers and fries. I pity the party of seven who came in as we finally got our food. They still might be there waiting for their food.

Gray ambiance, great food. They have a nice bar but I haven’t tried the drinks yet. Dessert was great especially the apple tart!!! I got mussels they were good, and came with a delicious piece of bread to dip in sauce. I would come back here.

Ok let’s get the obvious out of the way… You’re going deep into the heart of the valley… Expectations are, well… Low. That’s said, what a surprise and solid meal. I’d rank the burger with any other burger you’d have in the new haven area. I asked for medium rare and wow, I got medium rare which«rarely» happens else where. Who would have known this gem would pop up within a ¼ mile of the old Ansonia mall! Decent beer, good food and good service… Worth a look!

Really nice ambience. Service and food was solid. Def recommend to anyone looking to go out and not go to a chain. When the the train passes right behind the place and blows the whistle, bartender gives free shots.

Finally made it up to Copper City Bar And Grille after hearing my friends talk so much about it so much, and I was really blown away! This gem, located in the heart of the up-and-coming Ansonia is a great addition to the downtown area. There is plenty of free public parking directly across the street from the restaurant and very easy to find. Upon entering CCBG, there is a nostalgic feeling of yesteryear as you see the old brick building lined street. The décor is simple and to the point with reclaimed wood and a copper ceiling all highlighted with industrial pipe and Edison-era lighting. To be honest, the place is beautiful and straight forward. The real highlight here is the food and the atmosphere. The restaurant has two sections, the dining area where tables and chairs are modestly dressed and feels very comfortable. The bar area is separated by a low partition with high-top tables and bar seats around the light colored marble bar top. We choose to sit at the bar and the first thing I noticed was the small but great selection of craft beers, They happened to have my favorite beer that night, Founders Breakfast Stout. We started with the Tuna Tartare that was amazing. capers and lemon really highlighted the fresh tuna. It was served with house make potato chips that added a really nice crunch to the dish. We then tried the Thai Mussel Pot, it has a great broth made from a curry-coconut broth with ginger and lemongrass. We could of ate two of these and we probably should have. A definate highlight of the meal. Next up was the Steak Frites, I am a huge fan of Flat Iron steak and it was done nicely, the fries were nicely seasoned and the dish was a solid finisher. During our meal, the chef/owner came up to us and asked how things were and was very friendly. I would highly suggest coming up to Ansonia for this great find. I had a great experience at Copper City Bar & Grill and will be heading back there soon! Wishing these guys lots of luck.

Enjoyed a nice lunch today. The tuna tartare was fabulous and so fresh, nice large portion. I had the mussel pot fra Diavolo just awesome. My husband had the truffle burger was so good but egg should have been over easy not sunny side up. The décor is nice but could use artwork on the walls. The menu is small, but good for lunch.

The food was very good and the prices were ok. Our waitress was great. She was pregnant. All the women wanted to speak with her. She was very personable. We went for a birthday party and they were were helpful and they came out and sang to my friend. All in all, it was a good experience. I will come back.

I came here with my husband for the first time last Sunday and it was also their first day serving brunch. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and wanted to check this place out. We’ve driven by it many times so we figured why not give it a try. When we first walked in we were a little confused because there wasn’t really a hostess stand, so we had to wait by the door for someone to greet us and sit us down(it was kind of awkward). Once we were shown to our table by the window, we glanced around at the overall ambience of the place. It has a rustic feel with its lighting fixtures, copper ceiling and statement barn wood wall/kitchen window. Pretty neat. We were informed that there was a 2 for 1 special on mimosas and bloody Mary’s so we went for it.(Without asking how much. I’ll get to that later) The brunch menu was pretty small but was expected since it was their first day serving the brunch. I do have to say their selections all sounded pretty awesome. My husband ordered the breakfast skillet and I ordered the steak benedicts. While we waited for our food our waitress(super friendly young lady) brought us our drinks. We got the bloody Mary’s first and I hate to say this but it was mediocre at best. I’m not sure if it was a homemade mix but it tasted like it came from a bottle. We then switched to mimosas and those were delicious and refreshing. Perfect ratio of OJ and the bubbly! We waited a few more minutes for our food as we enjoyed the live music and I was surprised that it came out so fast. At this point we were ravenous, so we dug in! My husband loved the skillet but could have been a bit bigger, had more corned beef and at least came with a side of fruit. The presentation was just a mini cast iron skillet served on a plate and nothing else. My steak eggs benedicts were great! Cooked to mid-rare, eggs were poached to perfection, came with a side of chorizo hash and had a tasty tarragon hollandaise sauce… just wished it had more. :/ Our waitress suggested the apple tart for dessert. Omg, it was amazing! Probably the best thing we had that day. Finally, we asked for our check. Upon checking we noticed that each 2 for 1 special was $ 9…(we should have asked beforehand) We didn’t think it was worth it, especially for the average bloody mary. Other places in the area offer unlimited mimosas and bloody Mary’s for $ 15…that’s $ 3 less than what we paid for four drinks. Overall, we enjoyed it here and would come back again to try their dinner menu.

Went in today for the first time and was very impressed with the look and feel to the place. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The service was excellent. Felt like I was eating dinner with friends. The food: Excellent! I ordered the lobster mac and cheese as well as the filet tips for appetizers. They were both fantastic. Large portions of lobster in the Mac and cheese. The steak tips were served over a corn salsa and were tremendous! For dinner the fish taco’s were very good. Fresh ingredients and very well seasoned. Dessert: The apple tart and key lime pie. The apple tart was good. Very good. And I probably would have enjoyed it even more if i didn’t love the key lime pie so much. In all honesty, it is probably the best I’ve ever had! If you like Key Lime, you need to try this one. It blew me away. Awesome place. I’ll will back very soon.

Excited to try, but nothing good to say! From the minute we walked in, service was incredibly slooooow, shamefully slow. We were one of 4 tables! To add to the slow service, my mother is Celiac, highly allergic to gluten! We asked the waiter about meals that she could have and he went to ask the owner and chef who suggested the veggie burger bc it didn’t have flour… well after eating a bite, she knew there was bread or comparable in it. There were breadcrumbs. When she talked to the chef, he said it was breadcrumbs and not flour and oops. Did the chef not comprehend that bread is flour??? I won’t even go into how the rest of the evening went, but they should be ashamed at not understanding or adhering to a very sensitive food allergy!!! We won’t be returning and they need to get their crap together!

I found this place to be enjoyable, but I was not blown away by it either. The hostess had girlfriends visiting and ignored us at first, but then she seated us. I ordered the sausage rigatoni. It was very good, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how it could be $ 16. It was a bowl of pasta with some meat in it! If I am going to pay $ 16 for pasta, I would assume it would be served with bread and salad, not none of either were offered. I did not dislike Copper City, but also have no plans to return.

Went tonight for the first time and was SO impressed! We ordered the tuna tartar, steak tips and Mexican mussels — it was all delicious! Service was fast and attentive. Will absolutely be back soon. Ps — lots of gluten free things — nothing is labeled as so but the menu is easy to navigate for gluten free folks.

First, let me say I’ve lived in Ansonia since I was 4 years old so when a new restaurant opens up(especially on Main St) I get very excited. I didn’t feel like cooking last night so we decided to drive by and check this place out. There was no wait, we were seated immediately by a friendly hostess. The place was buzzing inside. The look is very clean and woody, kinda reminds me of Restoration Hardware style. I like the Edison lighting throughout the space. They could use some fabric panels to absorb the sound but not sure where you could place them? We started with mojitos, I had a regular and my other half had raspberry. Both were very good but I liked his better. We decided to do all apps. Started with the fried calamari which came perfect. My partner thought it was undersalted but I like it that way, he added salt anyways. I would rather have the chef use less salt and allow me to add on my own if I need to. Next was the cast iron meatballs. 3 meatballs served on a cast iron fry pan with sauce, ricotta and basil with some arugula also. They had good flavor but we both felt something odd in out mouths and realized it was the casing from the sausage used, why isn’t the chef using bulk sausage without casing. That was a bit of a turnoff in the texture department but didn’t spoil the night. Good red sauce by the way. We ended with the eggplant stack that was also tasty. We would go back. I wish this place well and much success and want to thank them for opening in downtown Ansonia!!!

Finally, another great restaurant in Ansonia just a few doors down from my favorite Ansonia restaurant Crave. Copper City is just what we needed downtown-a yummy gastropub. The food was exactly as advertised, elevated comfort food at a great price point. The wine list was pretty limited, but definitely enough choices by the glass to find something to fit your meal. And afterall, it’s a gastropub so they’ve rightfully showcased their selection of microbrewery beers. We loved their lobster mac and cheese and their truffle burger. It’s so great to see a place that isn’t afraid to prepare a burger to true medium rare. I also especially love that they offer smaller 6 oz burgers. That’s the perfect size if you aren’t too hungry or if you want to fit in some appetizers. My boyfriend adored their house-pickled pickles. The only lackluster part of the meal were the fries. No complaints, just not that great. Then again, any kind of fry works with poutine – fingers crossed that will show up on the menu someday… The service was attentive and helpful. We are excited to come back and try their key lime desert!
