1. Professional singing services for various genres of music: opera, musical theatre, jazz, secular, pop, folk, etc. This includes weddings, funerals, cocktail parties, etc. Custom programs to fit any occasion!

2. Teaching services: I have a private studio in Annapolis, MD where I teach voice lessons and basic/​intermediate piano, as well as music theory basics. With several years of teaching expertise in various domains, my style is flexible and the material I cover is adaptable to meet the needs and background of my students. With children, I focus on providing music fundamentals in a fun and nurturing environment. With my voice students, I draw on my own performance experience and the knowledge I’ve acquired from my teachers, coaches, and work with the Alexander Technique. I focus on tone production, musicality, phrasing, diction, support, natural singing, breathing, acting, and performance psychology, and more.

3. Artistic IT Consulting Services: With a background in IT, Project Management and Music, I help artists develop their unique online professional presence. Tailored to meet client needs, services include website design and consulting on blogs, social media, business cards, marketing, branding, etc. Very reasonable rates for artists with budgets!

History

Established in 2015.

I have loved music and singing since I was very young. Despite being ready to pursue classical vocal performance in college, I decided to pursue a career in IT to be practical. After earning a Computer Science degree, performing on the side and completing 10 years of government work as a Programmer, Teacher, IT Project Manager & International Liaison, I left the government to pursue my dream of being a professional singer of various genres (opera, musical theatre, jazz, secular, pop, folk, etc.). The costs of realizing this dream were expensive as I continued my private studies in voice, acting, languages, Alexander Technique and more. To help cover my expenses, my business was born, employing my unique combination of skills to provide 3 services — singing, teaching and web design/​online presence/​IT consulting services for artists!

Business Owner

Melanie has performed for 30+ years, singing in music festivals, theatre and choral productions. Engaged as a soloist for numerous concerts and events, she has sung internationally in Canada, the US, UK, Croatia and Italy. Melanie started teaching piano at 16 and has tutored Math, Computer Science, French and Italian. She developed and taught IT courses in the Government while completing Masters of Education courses focused on Workplace and Adult Learning. She has worked with children’s choirs, directed plays and coached voice for college shows. Melanie holds Royal Conservatory of Music Certificates in Voice (Gr. 6), Piano (Gr. 8), Music Theory (Gr. 2) & Harmony (Gr. 3), as well as 7+ years of private voice training, and courses in Italian and Acting. She holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from UNB in Canada and worked in the Canadian Federal Government for 10 years holding various positions including Programmer, Web Designer, Teacher, IT Project Manager & International Liaison.
