Mason’s Towing and Service Center

Pete has worked on my car several times in the past three years and has always been honest and thorough. I went to him one time when I thought my brakes had gone bad. He drove the car around for 20 minutes, came back and took all the wheels off the car and found nothing. He called and said there was nothing wrong with my car and charged me nothing.
He works fast and makes things as convenient as possible. Most of his work is done withing a couple hours and his prices are competitive and fair.

I was excited to go here after reading the Unilocal and google reviews. I called on Saturday morning to see if I could get my car in for an oil change. They said because they only had one mechanic I wouldn’t be able to get an oil change. I asked to make an appointment for Monday but they said no need just to get to the shop by 5:30 pm. Got there just before 5:30pm just to find out that thy don’t do anything after 5. The owner had no pity for me and sent me away. My question for them: why would you tell someone to come at 5:30 pm or be open till six if you stop doing business at 5??? Needless to say I found a nicer mechanic.

I am new to the area and, after reading positive reviews on Google, I decided to try Mason’s for a minor problem. One of my tires was loosing pressure, even after being filled twice, so I figured I had a slow leak. Even though I arrived at 6:45am before they opened (7am), the store manager quickly looked at my tire, located the screw that had punctured it, readily showed it to me still in the tire when I asked, and fixed it in about 5 minutes. It cost me about $ 12. Way better than new rear tires, which the chain stores would have tried to sell me! I was very pleased. So when my muffler hanger broke a few days later and my muffler starting bouncing around while I was driving, I took my car back to Mason’s. Since they already had another car in the bay, they said it would be a couple hours before they could get to it, but would try to do so ASAP so I could get to work. They kept their word and had the car repaired by 9:15am after I left it at 7am. They replaced the hanger (it was shot as my mechanic in Pensacola had already had to weld it back together once) and only charged me $ 71. A pretty fair price, I think. They even took a look under the hood at no extra charge to make sure everything was ok as a tree limb had recently landed on my car and dented the hood (they found nothing wrong, thankfully!). All of the mechanics and employees at Mason’s treated me with respect (hard to come by as a young woman at an auto shop) and carefully listened to what I knew of the problems with my car. They did not dismiss my concerns or requests as most places do. I will definitely do business with them again and recommend the place to any young career woman who expects to be treated as a human being, not a brainless female. I’m only disappointed they don’t do body work as I need to get that hood fixed!
