I went to see Dr. Wolov about a sick/​painful feeling I had in my stomach. I had recently returned from the Caribbeans (that is where it started). After explaining my symptoms in detail, I was told I had acid reflux. Clearly, I knew that was not the problem. I asked if it was possible that I may have contracted a parasite or some odd bacteria, he was adamant instating, «my issue was acid reflux.»
After being put through many test (some unpleasant), and finding absolutely no signs of acid reflux, I know it was time to get a second opinion.
I saw a new GI doc, by this time my stomach issue had grown worse. The first thing she did was order a breath test. This test is used to determine if someone has a condition called, Small Intestinal Bacteria Overgrowth (SIBO). The came back positive for SIBO.
SIBO can become debilitating, simply every day activities can be difficult to perform. Every day is a struggle dealing with the pain! SIBO can become harmful to the body. This is an ugly condition to have, AND it is extremely difficult too treat. I believe if this test was done immediately, I may not be suffering as badly.
I think Dr. Wolov is a nice guy. What was concerning, he did not listen to me from the start, instead he used an incorrect diagnose which prolonged getting early help with the bacteria.

The doctors here are great. My issue is with their procedure. I had an IV in my arm for nearly 90 minutes before I was sedated for my colonoscopy. Why don’t you just put the plastic syringe in me when you’re ready to knock me out? Why do I have to be uncomfortable for so long? Think about this guys, and stop doing this.

The Dr. my son sees is wonderful but trying to make an appointment with them sucks, I have tried on several different occasions to reschedule an appointment that they messed up. Today I was determined to get through and started calling continuously around 12:30 and finally got through at 2:07. I have better things to do with my tiime then spending an hour and a half to schedule an appointment. Yes I can leave a message but if I am busy when you call back and can not answer, I am back to step one.

Digestive Disorder Associates, and specifically Dr. Kevin Wolov, were professional in every sense of the word. Abdominal bleeding dictated an urgent consultation, and DDA responded immediately. Dr. Wolov made room in his busy schedule to meet with me, and after a thorough consultation scheduled an endoscopy for the following day. He diagnosed the cause of my bleeding and prescribed a course of treatment that led to a quick resolution of the problem. He personally called me at home with test results on order to put my mind at ease. The DDA staff I dealt with were all professional, prompt, efficient, and caring throughout the process. I have no problem recommending DDA.

Just came back from my appointment which was scheduled at 10 a.m. and I was finally seen by the NP at 11 a.m. on the dot. Not only did she not even acknowledge or apologize for wasting an hour of my time, she answered her phone in the middle of my appointment after the super loud sci-​fi ringer went off.
Also, it was about 20 degrees in the office so I froze my ass off the whole time I waited. Besides all of that, I was seen for stomach issues (obviously) and there was no mention about what I should or shouldn’t be eating until my problems are resolved.
AND there was a thick layer of dust on some of the pictures and other things hanging in the patient room, plus some hair that was stuck to the baseboard. Gross! Hire a cleaning company if you can’t do it yourselves.

If a loved one is experiencing a serious disorder, I urge you not to use this clinic. The doctor who saw my Mom was dispassionate, uncaring and never apologized for a serious scheduling mishap. When questioned about the error, the staff was equally rude and uncaring. Their incompetence ultimately led us to Johns Hopkins where the staff was nothing short of amazing. I sincerely hope my remarks will save another family the pain and heartache that we experienced.
