History
Established in 1995.
Dr. Dennis Guard is a native Marylander who grew up in Baltimore County. He is a graduate of Catonsville High School, where he excelled in art, history, and the sciences. He is a graduate from the University of Maryland’s accelerated bachelor of science program where he completed the four year B.S. program in three years. After graduating from the University of Maryland at College Park, Dr. Guard attended the University of Maryland School of Dental Surgery, where he was a member of the Si Omega Dental Fraternity. After four years of dental school, Dr. Guard served as in the Army as a Captain in the United States Army Dental Corp. After his military service, Dr. Guard joined a dental practice in Bethesda, Md. In the late 60’s, Dr. Guard relocated to Annapolis, where he has enjoyed a general family oriented dental practice. Dr. Holly Guard-Mayher was raised in Davidsonville, just outside of Annapolis, and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland Dental Hygiene program. After working as a hygienist for four years, she continued at the University of Maryland and earned her DDS degree. Holly is member of the Delta-Delta-Delta sorority and Gorgas Honor Society. Holly has worked as a dentist with her father for over ten years. She is married and has three children, Jeffrey, Dennis and Ivy. She enjoys being with her family and friends, running and reading. She belongs to the Annapolis Dental Study Club, her local book club, and volunteers at her children’s schools. She has a passion for her profession, addressing dental issues, improving patient hygiene, appearance and how they perceive themselves.
