Never had a bad experience here. Morgan (front desk) is very knowledgable and helps explain issues. Gary is very honest and will give you a straight answer. I feel I can trust him. I have been to many car shops and Autotech is by far the most honest and doesn’t try to rip you off.

I have trusted Gary, Morgan, and the staff with every one of my cars for the past 5+ years. They have always gone above and beyond for myself, my friends, and my family members that I have all referred to them. It’s rare to find an honest and trustworthy mechanic. Look no further, this is the best of the best.

Gary (owner) and Morgan (receptionist/​daughter) are awesome. They are very knowledgeable and honest. Gary will tell me if I need a repair that he can’t do or he feels is best done by the car dealership. He was referred to me by another of his customers years ago. They always fit me in and have even looked at my car on a moment’s notice when I heard an odd sound and was not comfortable driving it. I have since traded that car and now take my current car to Auto tech.

I went to this place because it had great reviews, I am from out of town and my car had started making some unpleasant noises that needed addressed. I don’t like crooked mechanics so I look at reviews. I went in on a Friday and was told I wasn’t going to be able to be fit in till Monday. I was heading on a trip so I moved my plans to accommodate this appointment. I brought my car in mid day because that’s the only time I could find accommodations for a friend to drive behind me and pick me up. I was given no appointment time, just told that I could bring my car around anytime after they opened. When I got there the woman at the desk seemed to forget that I made an «appointment» until she looked at a notebook with solely the model of my car scribbled down. She then proceeded to tell me she no longer could fit me in and I would have to wait till Wednesday. I have to leave town tomorrow and can’t wait, so along with wasting my time my car goes unfixed and I will have to go somewhere else. I can’t attest to the mechanic ability of this place, it may possibly be great! However, I will never know because it is run so unprofessionally I couldn’t even get an appointment after scheduling days in advance. Please use actual appointments for customers, and take contact info so you can communicate with them.

Auto Tech’s mechanic Gary was patient, generous, fast and – most importantly – exceedingly competent when working on my 15-​yr old Jeep with a starter wiring problem last week.
On a business trip from DC where we live, my girlfriend got in our 99 Cherokee at the end of the day and found that it wouldn’t start! 40 miles from home at rush hour is not where you want your car to be disabled! I found Auto Tech here on Unilocal and called Gary less than a few minutes before closing time. Upon hearing the details of the problem, he told me he could come to where my girlfriend was stranded with the car and look at it. He was there 20 minutes later. After 5 minutes under the car testing wires and fuses, he got it started up and got my lady and the jeep back on the road headed for DC where I brought it to my local shop. Without him we would be paying $ 200 for a tow! I only wish I could have left the car with him up there instead of relying on my neighborhood shop.
Then, the most amazing part: Gary didn’t even charge us! He offered some advice about the underlying problem for my DC mechanic to work with, and asked that we follow up to tell him what happened with it. When I spoke with him today, Gary had additional advice about the problem! Please don’t expect free roadside service from Auto Tech as standard (they’d go out of business in a week!) but please know that this kind of character and generosity is increasingly hard to find, and builds valuable trust. I’m now thinking of moving to Annapolis so Gary can be my full time mechanic!

Incredible experience, like night and day compared with using my dealership. Spent months trying to figure out what was going on with my car while taking it to a few different places which all scammed me. Finally took it here, they looked at it for 6 hours, figured out what was wrong and charged me an extremely fair price. Couldn’t be happier, and the fact that they’re so honest is very refreshing.

Great mechanic but also honest, which you don’t always find. Won’t sell you the moon when all you need is an easy fix. He has saved my son’s 17 year old car many times. Knows what they’re doing and have always come in on time and as promised. Wish that everyone ran their business as he does. He’s got our business and everyone else who’s asked me.
BTW– we found him on Unilocal when our son called us at 11:30 PM when his car broke down on the way home from work. We had to tow him somewhere, at that hour, we couldn’t call a friend to ask, so relying on Unilocal,we towed him to Gary’s lot. Thanks Unilocal!This was a great recommendation.

I’ve been here a couple of times. The service was great, the staff is warm and friendly and make you feel like family or long time friend. Yes, I am talking about an auto repair facility. They go out of their way to describe the situation with your car and give reasonable estimates and options. Last time I took my wifes car in with a flat. They found a nail in the tire and patched it no charge. I will trust my car with no other and they have built a loyal following in my community. They take the fear out of car repairs
