I got a perm here the other day and my hair is completely ruined. It’s frizzy, dry, damaged and looks nothing close to what I wanted. They use cheap chemicals and are inconsistent with their pricing. Very unprofessional I would not recommend going here.

I have very thick hair and have historically been dissatisfied with the haircuts I’ve gotten at American salons(namely Bubbles, by several different stylists). I guess my hair is a lot to tackle. But as soon as I started to get my hair cut at Le Mirage, I knew it would turn out good. The woman who cut my hair(I believe she’s the owner) was quick and meticulous. She knew exactly how to get my hair sleeker and lighter. The products they used on my hair smelled so good. And for $ 45(which I’m used to paying for a haircut at any salon, because of my hair type, I think) it was well worth it. All the stylists are skilled and polite, and help each other out with the clients. I think it’s a very cute spot with service that’s just right. They are friendly and conversational without being overbearing. I really enjoyed my experience and will definitely return for my future cuts.

The haircut was good– nothing special. However, I do wish that they were more polite. They were very rude and blunt. I dont think im going back.

I don’t think they know what they are doing here. I got hair perm by Catherine, the owner and she damaged my hair so bad. I got my hair straight after only 2 weeks. Because i couldn’t stand the smell of the chemical they used on my hair. It was so bizzard that i had to trim my hair pretty short. Even my new hairdresser who did the haircut and hair straighting told me that«whoever did your perm, obviously didn’t know what she/he was doing and it messed up your hair pretty bad.» I won’t go to this place and don’t recomend this place for hair related services. I did find a new place called Shanel which is also in Annandale. I think there is only 2 ladies running the business and the younger one did my hair cut and straighten my damaged hair. I loved my new hair style.

This review is solely for their permenant makeup. My friend had previolsy had her eyebrows tattooed and i loved it so we both went there for her touch up and my first time. We both had Jean and she was meticulous. We kept manipulating the shape to my satisfaction before she started the tattooing. It’s been a few months now and I’m very happy with it. It looks natural and I love the color saturation and how close it matches to my real hair. She also touché up my moles and sun spots. and after 2 sessions its much better but not completely gone. Maybe I need to go back for additonal sessions.

I went to Le Mirage for the first time a few weeks ago for a Japanese Straight perm but they damaged my hair beyond repair. I’ve been getting the perms for the past 10 years at other salons with no issues with damage before. The owner blamed my previous perms for the damage she caused but couldn’t explain why my bangs, which had never gotten perms before, are also damaged. I had to spend another 3 hours to get it fixed but it hasn’t improved much at all. The owner told me I need to get a «hair manicure» to make it better but expected me to make a new appointment and pay for it. My hair is still breaking off in pieces and is completely FRIED. I think I’m going to have to chop it all off… Update: 1÷22÷11 So, I’ve chopped all my hair off and I’m back to having a bob. The other salon I went to told me that Le Mirage’s Straight Perm is called«One hour straight perm» and it is a very cheap and unhealthy product for the hair… I wish I had known before I went there! UGH!

I’ve been here a bunch of times over the years as it is where my mother goes. While I stopped going here because I was looking for something more young and contemporary(Which I found! Ozuki Salon in Georgetown!), it’s still a good place to go for any more involved treatments(color, perms, body wave perms, magic perms, the like). The owner, Catherine is a damn hard working and very sweet lady. My mom, dad, grandma and aunts and cousins have been faithful to her for several years. It’s not quite what I’m looking for, but if you’re looking for something simple with pleasant service from a Korean salon, no place is better.

This review is SPECIFICALLY for a hairstylist that works at this salon. His name is Mr. Shim and he is a new addition to this salon. He colored my hair and gave me a good cut. The color turned out much lighter than I wanted but I let it go because it turned out nicely. After coloring my hair, I showed him a Japanese cut that I liked and he styled and cut my hair almost the same! There is no such thing as getting the exact same cut/style because we all have different hair and texture but he was pretty damn close. I am very picky and I usually do NOT like how most stylists dry and style my hair. They curl my hair in and add loads of volume which doesn’t really suit me. For the two times I have seen him, he did a fabulous job! I’m Korean and have naturally wavy hair(darn ggopseul) and he works with my natural waves. He spends so much time on my hair that I feel like I get my money’s worth. My hair feels so much lighter and softer now. He is quiet at first but when he warms up to you he’s all laugh. He’s not too nosy and talkative which I like. Word of advice, don’t tell him you want something new and different because he will give you just that and chop off your bangs LOL. Be careful what you ask for! =) :update: I’m giving Mr. Shim a four for now. My two time experience with him was not enough to give him a perfect five. I’m curious how others feel about him so give him a shot! :update deux: After I washed my hair, I noticed that Shim’s cut is not as good as Kim Young Eun(Hair Mode). He’s close but not there yet. He styles much better than Kim Young Eun though. I would give him a 3.5 but 4 will do… I’m curious what other people think of him.
