History
Established in 1984.
The Petting Farm was opened in 1984 at Domino’s Farms Office Park in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is a living symbol of our appreciation and commitment to the agricultural industry and to the traditional farm values that are evident in our culture. It serves as a historic tribute to the farmers who lived in the area and developed the agribusiness we have today.
In 1925, a local family by the name of Zeeb built a working farm here in Ann Arbor. Their property and buildings were purchased by Thomas Monaghan in the early 1980’s, who named the new establishment ‘Domino’s Farms’. Twenty acres were allocated for the Petting Farm site.
Many guests assume that the farm is subsidized by Domino’s Farms. However, The Petting Farm is a non-profit 501©3 and operates on its own. With no government or other agency funding, we rely on the generous support of our visitors and sponsors who help contribute to our operating budget.
