The Petting Farm at Domino’s Farms

They have all the classic farm animals on display. We went there the day after my graduation and it was cold and overcast but this didn’t matter because the animals still wanted to eat carrots. They have cows, pigs, lamas, rabbits, horses, chickens, bison, Texas Longhorns, an albino peacock and much more. It was nice oh and I believe you can reserve part of the farm for parties :):)

The Petting Farm at Domino’s is a great place for kids of any age. I’ve worked at Domino’s Farms for five and a half years and came to the Petting Farm for the first time, today.
The grounds are beautiful. There is a nice pavilion and a small pond. They have several barns/​buildings and you can purchase a bag of carrots and feed the ponies, pigs, llamas, goats, and other creatures they have. There are also a ton of goats/​ducks wondering about.
They have a small gift shop and plenty of parking. Domino’s Farms is in a beautiful location, close to several main roads/​highways, shopping, and restaurants. It makes for a great stop with the family.

Wow I can’t believe the nasty reviewers on here. So this is how parents are today? «Thanks for letting down my 4 year old»!! How entitled and immature.
Well, I don’t mind spending the admission for my family because I’m sure it probably isn’t easy nor cheap to maintain a farm. It’s not like I’m going to step up to the cashier and say, «$ 6 per person!!! No way!» and then walk right out.
We had a great time and laughed a lot. I loved the chicken/​duck area the most. Really interesting breeds of chickens and the peacocks were a great surprise.
The guy at the little shop was very nice and friendly. Poor guy probably has to deal with unpleasant, cheap visitors more often than not — as if he’s the one that sets the admission fee.
I have nothing negative to say about our visit. All good!

This place is nice but at $ 6 per person this place is overpriced given the number and variety of animals they have. The plus side is that they sell you a bag of carrots for $ 2 that you can feed to the animals.
Check out the Ann Arbor Conservancy near Ann Arbor Saline Rd. for a larger variety and number of animals (free and non-​free sections)!

Great little place for kids or adults who like animals. It’s chill. Not sure if they allow you to bring your own wine but it would be great to sip some wine while you walk around and pet the animals. There’s a great chill spot next to the pond while you feed the ducks.

Love it. I took my 18 months old boy today to this petting zoo and we had a great time. We paid $ 6 per person plus $ 3 for carrots. I am surprised people complain here about the price. Really?! It is not expensive at all. For what fun your kids have it is worth that $ 9. We will come back soon. It took us 1,5h to see everything. Great for kids all ages. I even saw adults just coming to check this place out. Overall a great place to visit.

$ 6 per person is ridiculous! The farm has a few animals, pony rides and baby ducklings (which are advertised on their website) were nonexistent. Way to let down my 4 year old. The farm itself is a cute set up. Bird/​chicken poop all over the wood slats around the animal enclosures. Unilocal gave us a coupon for animal carrots which would otherwise have been another $ 3.

Had a great time with our 1 year old. The hayride was fun. Wish it had a few more animal attractions, we completed this in one hour. Nonetheless it was a great visit!

What a great day! I’m so proud to have such a beautiful clean place for family fun in Ann Arbor and just a few miles away. The cost is very inexpensive to see this well kept working animal farm tucked into the northeast corner of Ann Arbor — with the Dominos HQ in the background as if it’s part of the prairie. The pastoral landscape of barns, fields, and ponds, with ducks and chickens meandering about, creates a tranquil setting for any visitor of any age to come, relax, enjoy. Be sure to stroll through all of the barns and open gravel roads to see and pet all of the livestock –purchase of the feed bags is a must! Also, you have to take the hayride, which ports you to more remote areas of this 200 plus acre farm for up close encounter with the larger stock. I’ll be back to just sit and relax in the scenery too — must see in A2!

FANTASTIC! Visiting grandchildren aged 10, 6 and almost 2 required some creativity for keeping them occupied. The Petting Farm was recommended to us and I am so glad we went. The cost of $ 40 included admittance of 2 adults and 3 children, two bags of carrots and a hayrack ride for all of us. We visited on the 4^th of July, yes, the 4^th of July. Thank you for being open. I knew we were going to have a great time when paying for our tickets that an employee had a baby duck and let the kids touch it while I was completing the ticket purchase. The animals were great with the usual bunnies, ducks, chickens, sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas and ponies. The extra special touch was the teen-​aged employees that were amazing. They were placed in the common area of the farm with baby rabbits and a baby duck. The kids were able to hold and gently play with the babies while the employees educated the kids on how to hold the animals and how to be careful as not to hurt them. The employees even blew bubbles in the grassy area so my youngest grandson and other smaller kids could chase bubbles. The hay rack ride was a ton of fun. The tractor pulled the trailer into a field with horses, cows and bulls. A big bowl of carrots was brought by the employees so we could feed the animals as they gathered around the trailer. Employees cautioned us on how to feed each particular animal so everyone was safe and each animal could be fed. I was really impressed that we could feed this huge black bull. In all, we spent about two and a half hours at the petting farm. The hay rack rides start on the hour and a bell is rung to let everyone know the ride is leaving. We had a blast. Oh, and there is a shelter with picnic tables so you could take a picnic lunch, and near the shelter is soccer goals and a number of different sized balls for the kids to run, kick and play with on the grass. It was a fun added feature.

It’s not like you don’t get the cost upfront with some of these people. And it’s not a 10,000 acre sprawling zoo with unicorns and phoenixes (I don’t know the plural). What we have a nice little farm that costs about a dollar per person more than it should. But you can feed the animals, who are super-​friendly, you can watch the chickens run around, and my almost 2-​year old daughter had a blast. We got great pictures because there weren’t a ton of people even though it was a nice day. Everything is right there for you and it was a grand time.
We’re going back. The staff were a lot of fun and very courteous.

I will never again visit this Farm. The workers are extremely rude, and treat their customers very disrespectfully. The three times I’ve been there I have been scolded, chastised, and treated rudely Buy at least one member of their staff or more. I have also had friends tell me how disrespectful their staff had treated their children even. Besides being overpriced, I would not recommend anyone take their children to this place. Save your money and spend it at a place where you are appreciated.

Because I’m still essentially five years old (the 26 year old thing is just a disguise), I begged my boyfriend to take me to the petting farm. The winter rate of $ 3/​person is a steal, as is the conditional affection you can buy from the animals with a $ 2 boat of carrot sticks. Goats, alpacas, baby piglets, sheep, and various types of cattle can bring out the excited child in just about anyone. It’s the best.
Also commendable is the service we’ve received from the people who work there. They go out of their way to ensure you have a good time and explain facts about the animals, including the dates of new births and habits of each species. They even let some of the baby goats out of the pen when we were the sole patrons so that they could climb on us while eating our carrots. This place was an excellent discovery.

My girlfriend and I decided to wait to visit the petting farm until December 1^st, when the winter rate of $ 3 per person kicked in until February 28^th. When we arrived mid-​afternoon there was ample parking and the farm had only a few other visitors. The staff is very friendly, and not only made small talk but also was very knowledgeable about the animals. While we walked around the farm both staff members took a break from their caretaking routine to tell us about the animals and then went back to their work, not at all seeming to chaperone us in any way.
For $ 2 you can buy some carrots to feed the animals, which is a great idea since you instantly have every animal in the pen paying attention to you! The goats and alpacas were very friendly and none of the animals minded being pet. In fact, several of the cows and goats actively sought out our attention by moving over to the fences of their enclosure as we walked by. I was very pleased to see all the animals in such high spirits and it was nice that they were sociable, even when not being feed a carrot treat.
I visited on a cool, dry day but I could imagine the grounds, both indoor and outdoor, could become rather muddy. The animals are very clean and a quick hand washing afterwards does the trick just fine, but I bet if you visited with children, they could get dirty. As the previous review mentioned, $ 7 a visit is a bit steep, but t two of us managed to spend just ten dollars for about an hour of fun, which I think is very reasonable. Grab your coat and scarf and take advantage of the winter rate!

A petting farm in Ann Arbor?! Freakin awesome!
My first time here, I brought along my 6 yo nephew & 12 yo niece. They both loved it! It did get a bit pricey if you have a big group of people, like I did on my 2^nd visit (#15). So, it’s good for a small family day trip. They have a barn filled with carrot nipping goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits & llamas (so cool!).
They sell $ 2 baskets of carrot sticks to feed the animals and do not let you bring your own. I’d suggest making the carrots last longer by breaking them into cubes and feeding the animals from the palm of your hand.
The petting farm houses other animals outside of their barn; cows, horses, pigs, & peacocks (they have an albino one too!). As part of admission, you can go on a short hay ride around the perimeter of their property. The hay really loves to stick to clothing, so don’t wear your best outfit. Pony rides are also offered on Saturdays & Sundays.
It is a small petting farm, but big enough for visitors to fulfill their country side desires in the middle of a suburban area.
