The M-​Den is pleased to be the Official Merchandise Retailer of Michigan Athletics and the University of Michigan Alumni Association.

History

Established in 1976.

The M-​Den is owned by David Hirth and Doug Horning. Both are lifelong Ann Arbor residents and both are graduates from the University of Michigan. In 1976, Dave and Doug bought Stein & Goetz Sporting Goods. Over the years additional locations opened and the focus of the business changed to clothing and gifts rather than sporting goods. More recently, in 2010, The M-​Den once again partnered with the University of Michigan to become the official merchandise retailer for Michigan Athletics.

There is so much here! If you are a Michigan fan you will love it here. I can’t believe how much they pack into this place. While I looked through almost every rack I spent most of my time in the sale room. I was incredibly happy with the selection of sale items and pricing. My boyfriend and I left with a bag full of merchandise with very little impact on our wallets. It’s located near all the other restaurants and stores so it was so convenient to shop and eat. Love, love, love.

This store is awesome! Love it! Never get my Michigan stuff anywhere but the Mden. If they don’t have it, it doesn’t exist! The staff is good, the bargain room upstairs is better. If you’re a Michigan fan and never visited this store you’re missing out!

Bloomfield Hills, MI
This is a store in a convenient location with a good amount of merchandise of various sorts that will appeal to most Michigan fans. They sometimes have items on sale but otherwise it can be expensive. It is always good to get the «official» Michigan merchandise though and so this is a store I trust and make purchases from frequently.

Prices can be a bit steep, but employees are friendly and the selection is wide. I love the temporary tattoos and face paint. The car magnets are also cute, but mine all got torn off and stolen (presumably by obnoxious State fans) on Sunday’s basketball game day… but the Wolverines prevailed, so I feel avenged. GO BLUE!

The mothership of all M Dens, this place rocks with two floors of pure Go Blue. If you can think it, they have it in maize and blue.

Santa Ana, CA
While I am from Ohio and I live in California, I bleed maize and blue. On a recent trip to Detroit to see the Wings play, I stopped by Ann Arbor to go to the M-​Den and check out the University.
The M-​Den is as good as it gets for Michigan fans! They have almost anything you can imagine. Michigan apparel, pool tables, furniture, memorabilia, etc.
On top of this, there is a value section on the second floor where you can get jerseys for half off and t-​shirts for $ 10. I got an authentic jersey, hat, t-​shirt and beanie for just over $ 100. You really can’t beat that price!
The store was VERY clean, well organized and the staff was very nice.

Do you want a Wolverine grill? Or perhaps a maize and blue lunch bag? Wait, don’t you need block ‘M’ water wings?
Well then you have come to the right place! I am serious when I say that this store has EVERYTHING you could possibly think of plastered in maize and blue. The store is huge! It’s two levels and it really seems like the store never ends. I walked through and kept thinking, «Oh my, there is more?!»
Location is great right on State Street and in a busy stretch of town. The only downside is that their products are high in price.
